Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

I was being sarcastic. Every nationality has its thieves, Polish included.

OK. My sarcasm sensor has been disabled this morning :) In this case you're correct.

When I was 6 I was caught stealing by my mom (big punching balloon). She brought me back to the store to have me "fake arrested" by the police to teach me a lesson.

Now maybe some can say all Native Americans are theives. We are getting a lot of the white mans money with our casinos though ;) so you never know what people say under their breath while leaving the casino broke :) Fekking thieves.... took all of my money :P

Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

My gf says the same. She can't believe people here are so polite.

Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Hatians, El Salvadorans, Guetamalans, Hmong, Chinese, Turks, and Jews, especially Jews, are all accused of theft in the US

The only ones that I know that get arrested for stealing in the NY area are the Blacks and Latinos. Never heard of any of these others "accused". And these are people that got caught, so I'm not voicing an opinion. When I worked retail we'd have people in the back all the time for stealing.

I was thrown back by the accusations I've heard while in Germany and Poland. Even the Media Markt commercial had a PL person stealing. I think it may've been removed though.

It was interesting that a Polish friend of mine was complaining how in Germany shop-keepers would watch the Polish tourists like hawks in case they steal things, but he himself had participated in such thefts.

They do say "You are the company that you keep". What does this say about you?

I suspect that it could be because Poles believe that the whole world owes them something.

And I suspect that you've lost your mind. Am I correct? :)

The Poles in Germany are known as thieves.

From what I've observed; and I may be wrong, is that the Germans still have this attitude of being superior, so to them everyone is lower class. I just dissregard anything that they say.

People. Regardless of where you're from. There are those who have sth in their head that makes them want to steal. It's a rush of sorts. Just ask Winona Ryder :)

Also, have you ever seen these scam Emails from PL people? If they are so poor, why aren't they trying to scam the world like the Nigerians ?

Food / Pierogi recipe and filling from my grandmother [179]

Thanks. I live right next to Garfield, but I can't find any good bread there. I'll have to take a trip to Wallington soon. The Kielbasa that I get at Piast in garfield is pretty good too.

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

1- when you see a price for something... that is the price you pay. not having to figure out additional taxes on top of the pricetag.

LOL....I tried to barter in Poland and it was like pulling teeth :) Almost Impossible.

I can think of no American 20 something who would be so happy to pick strawberries with her father and brother all summer

What does being American have to do with anything?

:P

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

but who comes to Poland for the food, the roads and the buildings?

Many people. It's a beautiful country to take photos. Not all of us just focus on women constantly. There's more to life. All of the food (maybe not smalec) is very tasty :) Sounds like you need someone that knows how to cook :P The communist housing isn't the best looking, but there are "projects" everywhere. The roads...I have to agree :), but overall I love it there.

I'm wondering what do you non-poles find fascinating in Poland

My significant other is PL :) and I love to visit. It's a big difference from the States and I love mostly everything about it. I just wish that I was able to work there for decent money. I like to come here and post tips for others who have never been to PL. I also love the cuisine and have learned to cook a few authentic dishes.

I'm surprised that many non-poles post here

Just be aware that there are a few who post a lot of anti PL stuff, so don't be surprised.

Welcome to the forum though :)

Love / Fell in love with a Polish girl, but find it difficult to approach her [620]

grew up in solitude for the most part so I guess I never really learned. Don't get me wrong, I had a very happy childhood, it was at school were the problems arose.

Sounds like you just have to chill and let things naturally progress without having to force it. Always remember....Never force anything ;) Maybe have a drink before you have a go at anything. You know, just to loosten up a bit :)

You're thinking waaaay too much about it Ken. Just be a man and do your thing. Have you ever thought you might not be interested in women at all? You shouldn't be having a hard time talking with women..it's natural for a man to do. Is she smoking hot or sth and you're scared?
