Life / Why are Polish people so obsessed with race? [160]

Polish Federation has issues with guys that have Polish last names and speak Polish.

Obraniak, Perquis, Olisadebe, Boenisch, Guerreiro. That's just for football. You also have Xu Jie, Wang Zeng Yi, and Li Qian (tennis table), Joe McNaull, Jeff Nordgaard, David Logan, and Thomas Kelati (basketball), Arsen Kasabijew (weightlifter), Mamed Chalidow (martial arts), Yared Shegumo (marathon), Stéphane Exartier (skiing), Karolina Szwed-Ørneborg (handball), Jean Boutes, Merab Gabunia, David Chartier, Cédric Vaissière, Léandre Billaud, and Alexandre Beccuau (rugby), Babatunde Aiyegabusi (US football), Rune Holta (speedway). They all represent Poland, how cool ;)

half the roster will no longer carry a Ski last name.

It's already the case I'm afraid. Szczęsny, Glik, Wawrzyniak, Piszczek, Sobiech, Szukała, Krychowiak, Sobota, Nowak, Teodorczyk. Damn all the obcokrajowcy ;)

What's the difference between a little white polish girl cheering for an African and your daughter engaging in an Interracial prnographic film for money?

If you can't see any difference here, then I advise you to visit your doctor ASAP. This could be serious.

Life / Why are Polish people so obsessed with race? [160]

Haha, Zodiac, funny post. Are you at least of Polish origin? If not, then it's not only a funny post, but also a surprising one. Or maybe your partner in life is Polish.

There is no such thing as a 'pure race'. Poles are mixed with Czechs, Slovaks, Germans, Ukrainians, Swedes, Tatars, and Transylvanians. To name a few.

And the current situation is not going to change that. With the millions of Poles living abroad, mixing with their 'hosts', and the many workers from around the world settling in Poland.

I wonder what the Polish national football team will look like in 20 years... Marek Johnson passes to Jacek Berg, who finds Dariusz Nguyen...nice dribble, and cross......aaand GOOOAAAAL!!!! Aboubakar Kowalskiii!! Poland 3, Brazil 0. I'm very curious.

Language / Polish Swear Words [1242]

Is this correct or did my fella call me a *****?

Hard to say. But 'kurwa' is equivalent to the English 'fµck'. So it may just mean that. Which in your case would be better, for sure.

Life / I am moving to Warsaw. (Could anyone tell me about life there?) [49]

Hi Shizuka, that's nice, I hope you'll enjoy it in Poland. If you want to compare the costs of living, have a look at [Poland&city1=Tokyo&city2=Warsaw].

I've been to Warsaw only once, for holidays, never lived there, so I'm probably not the best person to give you advice about life in Wawa.

Life / Halloween vs All Saints' Day in Poland [48]

It's more a kid thing, we used to 'celebrate' it (Halloween) in France too a few years ago, but it's kinda dead now. As you said, very American.

Cemeteries in Poland on All Saints' Day, worth seeing once in your life. Or twice.

Life / Poland: The land of -isms [63]

their answer usually was "Why don't go home if you don't like it here?".And you know what, they were right! Now when asked I like everything.

I guess they're kinda right, but that's an easy answer. And actually not an answer. A way to not solve problems, flee them.

People generally don't like critics. So they may get aggressive when they hear them.
But if you criticize everything and tell them 'this is not what we would do back in moja Polska', people may suggest you to go back to where you belong probably.

But again, if people tried to communicate (better), we could solve many problems. Mankind is capable of that, maybe just not willing.

Genealogy / I am looking for an African guy in Krakow, I dated [73]

Men are so much wiser when it comes to getting laid with any girl. The difference is that men can make women pregnant and then run away and sleep with other women.

Anyway, I kinda agree with Amathyst, the OP may just be a troll. And if she's not, if this is all true, she doesn't need insults and dubious racial views. Let's be humans for once.

if you came to my home and kept telling me that I need to move my furniture around because you don't like the current setup

You're not talking about the OP, are you? Cuz she's not willing to move any furniture, she's just fearing for her life sometimes, that you can understand, can't you?

Poland is the home for Poles so don't you tell us how do we need to set up our furniture because you are only a guest.

Poland is actually one of the homes for Poles. Poles found lots of new homes during last centuries. How about you, Grubas, where do you live right now?

Travel / Are there any travel agencies in Poland that offer Disneyland Paris packages? [10]

I'd like to know if anybody has visited disneyland paris in january probably in the 1st 2 weeks of the new year.

I live quite close, I've been there a few times, mostly in November/December. It was cold and grey, but who cares when you're a kid and see Mickey for real for the very first time ;)

Like in Poland, January usually is the coldest month, but still generally 'warmer' than in Poland. Not the same climate. I'd say about +5°C on average. It rarely snows.

Would we be able to experience all the attractions in disney studios/parks in this 5 days of our visit?

You really want to do all of them?
But yes, 5 days should actually be more than enough. And expensive. I think you can do many of the attractions in 1 or 2 days. If I remember well, the Studios are not that big. Unless they added new stuff since last time I went.

You better save some money and visit Paris a bit. I mean you probably don't need to spend more than 2-3 days in Disneyland. IMO.

Lastly, how much will it cost three of us to go for this birthday
holiday from poland to disneyland paris?

Talking about the travel costs only? Or the whole trip?

Life / What type of clothing is suitable for winter in Poland? [5]

We are 80km south east of Krakow

That's some place in the moutains.

Also, could you give a hint of the climate from November to March in Krakow, please.

Winters are colder in Poland than in France generally. But it's also healthier (at least compared to Paris climate), as long as you wear good clothes.

In Cracow, it should be snowy in that period (November-March), and temperatures on average should be around -5°C (usually between -10°C and +5°C).

The coldest month should be January or February.

You should probably wear warmer clothes than you would in France, but it's alright, Cracow is not Siberia, don't worry.

Life / Which bank in Poland should I join for basic services? [14]

Krakow

Nice place, enjoy ;)

In the other hand, Pekao and ING sounds nice.

These are quite common, especially in big cities like Cracovie, you should find them on every street (more or less).

Love / What do Polish women think of Italian/Native American men? [23]

Sun burn turns into tan, children.

Children, sunburn+sunburn=skin cancer, remember this, before it's too late.

Also Olive skin can't spend too much time in the sun or they start looking black

I know you don't like the word but this sounds...what is it again? Oh yeah, racist.

Life / Which bank in Poland should I join for basic services? [14]

My bank at home is LcL.

Ask them if they have any agreements with other banks abroad. I could take money from Deutsche Banks with my French card, for free, no fee.

Is BNP a good bank in Poland ? I mean, I don't have much interest in customer service, but mostly about the fees you have to pay to get a card and to manage your account online.

It worked pretty well for me. You'll just need to find someone who speaks French or English to open your account. As to managing your account online, once again, it shouldn't be a problem with BNP, since you can switch the online platform from Polish to English.

Where are you going to live?

News / Poland and Germany should unite, says Lech Walesa [72]

Lech Walesa has called for Poland to unite with Germany to form one European state

I think he didn't mean that exactly. I don't remember what it was tho (the article was in Polish).
Anyway, the idea is romantic. Although I don't see why Germany would want something like that.
At least, Poland would have better results in sports... ;)

Bonsoir Julien, un autre Français en Pologne je vois.

What is your bank in France? They may help you choose the best bank for you (they always have agreements with other banks).
I lived in Poland for some time, my bank in France is BNP, my bank in Poland was...BNP.

Good luck with your new job.

Travel / Where in Poland to visit in february? [8]

The first place that comes to mind would be Zakopane I guess. It should be nice in February, with all the snow. Probably even better around Christmas time. Anyway, this is an idea.

EDIT: and just realised you'll be doing the moutains in December, sorry... Then hard to say. I would suggest the seaside, but not in February...

Love / Polish women: what do you think of Polish men? Physically unattractive? [180]

I can proudly say atleast Polish men are in great physical shape compared to the rest of the continent.

Where did you get that from? Obesity is more and more common in Poland, a huge amount of people smoke, and I heard one third of Polish kids don't have physical education at school.

Maybe if Western Europe didn't sit around while we were battling Germany/Russia AND then let us be occupied for 50 years, this wouldn't be the case.

Hehe, strange sense of humour.
Napoléon, rings a bell?

Life / "You are 100 years behind Blacks" - this old Polish saying [29]

I don't listen to Rap, sag my pants to reveal my underwear or constantly use curse words. That's enough for me

On the other hand, ALL Blacks do listen to rap, sag their pants to reveal their underwear, or constantly use curse words. Strangely, I know many Whites who do all these things.

And I know Blacks who are presidents, CEOs, teachers, researchers, etc.
I myself sometimes use bad words too, and I may enjoy some good rap music too.

Life / "You are 100 years behind Blacks" - this old Polish saying [29]

The point is that if not for Whites, Africans would still be dancing with bushes in their butts

This is where you're wrong. No-one dances with bushes in their butts. Imagine how uncomfy this must be.
And again, not Whites, but SOME Whites. If not for those 'some Whites', who knows, maybe Poles would still be pagans, hunting pigeons for a living.

Seriously, how much related are you to such people like Thomas Edison? Apart from your skin colour?

Life / "You are 100 years behind Blacks" - this old Polish saying [29]

So? Did you invent anything? Did your family invent any of those things? Did Poles invent any of those things? I don't think so. Does it mean that Poles are somehow inferior to Americans?

Twisted logic.

Love / Polish women: what do you think of Polish men? Physically unattractive? [180]

Alright, time for some cool entertainment. Here are a few pics of male celebs of Polish descent. Some are a bit surprising.
Let's just say that without Poland, Michael Jackson may have never been Michael Jackson, same with Eminem, Nicolas Cage, etc.

Charles Bronson, aka Karol Dionizy Buczynski

Matt Pokora, French singer

Jared Padalecki, American actor

...and yes...Quincy Jones!

Love / Polish women: what do you think of Polish men? Physically unattractive? [180]

And Italian women like blue eyed blondes :) And Italian men are absolutely crazy about blue eyed blond women (even if they aren't that pretty) :)
Many people find what's different attractive.

EXACTLY.

don't look goofy like Polish men.

I don't think Polish men are any...uglier than their European counterparts, it's just that they tend to not take as much care of their look, in general. But things seem to change (they always do after all). My Italian (female) friend said she saw a few stunning guys when she visited Cracow. Believe me, coming from her, this really means something ;)
