USA, Canada / Moving back to Poland after 7 years in Canada [22]

Any way you can take an extended trip to Poland at an appropriate time which would help you cement your move?

If you feel it's where you belong then the sacrifices will be worth it. Life's not all about money but it is about security... don't jeopardise yourself if you think you can avoid it.

Leaving home is like one big regret that sits on your shoulders and nags at you until you have the strength of mind to get peace of mind...

Wait for Aphro... another poster here who did something similar.

The hardest part is the decision. Very tough. Life choices. :)

Love / Why are Polish women so sexy ? [390]

To be honest with you I don't really think that "hot chicks" are really that attractive to all men. Alone the expression stands for cheap looking (maybe pretty) girls (unfortunitely not very smart though).

So *hot* is synonymous with dull...?
I think hot covers the whole package... you should try harder.

I shouldn't, it was just a little remark, that's it.

Suit yourself freebird. :)

News / Poland's atheist loonies have had their 5 minutes [239]

The irony is, if God's existence were actually proven, it would mean religion is in fact science and no longer faith...

I heard he left a paper trail... (or at least a couple of fossilized footprints!)

Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

They might be doing sexy stuff alright but if that's all it takes, then by that token I am therefore Adonis

But if you can penetrate that fun would you not be captured by it...? Or do you like to make your own fun?

She's Ariel and he's some rusty anchor laying by a coral reef

Disney was way out of line promoting that sort of indecency.

If that *is* his girl, and not his daughter, then I'm sure she's cheating!

That's pretty snugly for a family affair.... Maybe he's Greek? Or she just looks damn hot for 60?!

I rest my case. Bless him! Hey, if he can do it.. I sincerely hope some guys here will see the light now. (Call me naive, but it doesn't hurt to try?)

She's his mum?

Love / I was raised in Poland. My Family hates my wife because she's American ... [69]

my mom was so mad that she didn't come to the wedding and on top of all that she tried to blackmail me now here is the kicke

Has she done what she can to please your family? Cause I don't think she can appease them.

Really, sit them down in front of your wife and get them to fess up what it is they want you to do differently. Confess to them the strength of your love for your wife and remind them of the beautiful grand-kids she has bore.

Admit that marrying an American (outcast if you will) was not the first choice for their happiness, but that it is essential for yours. But find out exactly what it is you can do about it?

There's no point in them hanging on to lost hopes for you to marry the village princess or anything cause you have been out in the world and have found yourself a foreign woman.

Unfortunately you simply don't know if they would take this approach with any woman you married. They are looking to have some sort of control of your life; Are you the eldest/ only son? Are your folks happily married?

Good luck.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2808]

Shattering. remorse. That's how you differentiate the old world from the new... a sense of remorse, regret and rebuilding. (Looking back as well as forward.) ;)

If you always approach a problem the same way, you'll always get the same result.

Your big picture is your history and that's it. I'm not going to discuss America (again.) I want you to justify how the *success* of gun ownership in the States can be readily transferred to a country like Poland? Why should it? And how would it be implemented, legislated and regulated?

Thank you.

There is a reason we always end up conversing about America.

News / Can Russia be a good partner for Poland? [42]

Yeah cause there aren't many other emerging economies in Europe... :S
Poland has the good fortune of a fairly untarnished political and economic reputation.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2808]

Ok, well democracy is one thing, the United States is another... Let's not mix the two up in this discussion. ;) You can have perfectly good democracy without "lowering gun crime with guns??" If that's what you're professing...

By the way, are there ample laws to protect the rights of the citizen to use their hand gun in this instance? And are there enough cases where people doing it have in fact been "let off" for having killed in self defense? (I bet you got good lawyers over there.)

Could these situations have been handled some other way?

In any case you can probably find sufficient evidence to justify gun ownership in your country (no doubt both sides could!) but let's leave it at that. Why introduce them to Poland? I think Poland has managed to arrive at democracy without them? And don't tell me that If you wanted to take a world leader out - you couldn't find a gun to do it in any country. Cause I guess shooting Presidents is your brand of democracy as well...? History suggests...

You don't fight politics with guns you fight it with democracy... if you're saying the two are inseparable then I would disagree, but in your case I can see where you're coming from.

The equal right to bear arms should be extended to other equalities... Cause all's I can see is folk using them on each other.

Anyways, in the words of Metal:

Please don't post music videos at random in the main forums. There are threads in off topic for this purpose.

The Poles would only use them to invade Ukraine and take back Lwow. ;P

But srsly, why the hell allow guns at this point in history? They have historically served a purpose for military reasons, to a lesser extent for self defense, and to an even smaller degree for hunting.

Hunters can already obtain rifles. And I think we have the police and the army for the rest?

UK, Ireland / Do Poles in the UK pretend to be uppity because they have an inferiority complex? [60]

Inside every superiority complex there is some inferiority at work...

Not sure this applies to all Poles, but they are easy to scrutinise on this basis as there are a lot of them abroad and that makes them stand out.

They also appear to go for safety in numbers so you tend to judge them as a group rather than as individuals which often leads to poor understanding of individual circumstance.

You can also hide a lot with pride.
