News / Black Haitians considering themselves as Poles [31]

hello,
i've read something about them, and it was sentimental story about poles sent to haiti by napoleon in order to crush the uprising of locals. of course, poles changed side in favor of the insurgents, and about 200 dwelt on the island. they had children with local women, things like this.

in mine opinion they are haitians, not poles. yes i know that there is a interesting and sentimental thing, because they remember about their origin for 200 years, etc, but still - they are haitians. maybe i'm not sentimental...

Travel / My (short) Poland experiences - bad luck? [142]

Its normal that British and Irish ppl say to Poles: "go back to Poland if you don't like the way of living here" and they see nothing wrong with that. So I see nothing wrong with saying to you what I have said. Double standars? Yes it seems you have double standards...

o nooo. he is calling this "tolerance" :)

Travel / My (short) Poland experiences - bad luck? [142]

Aesthetically, generally bleak soulless and depressing atmosphere.

try disneyland then:)

p.s1. if don't like poland, don't come here, that's easy.

p.s2. i hope that no one will compel you to come here again :)

p.s3. it's still amazing for me that some people from other countries aren't tolerant at all. they are expecting everything to be in line with their expectations, and when it comes to reality, they are very disappointed. such a children's behavior...

Life / My own thoughts about life in Poland (have lived here for two years) [133]

sorry pubben, i thought that you are next incarnation of sheila...

i agree with most of your observations - wages, prices, taxes. just like ziemkiewicz write - living in poland is sometimes like swimming in jelly - it's possible, but damn tiring...

the other thing i fully agree with you is stance of many, so called, educated poles from cities to poles from province areas. i'm sick of it. i live in biggest agglomeration in poland (it's not warsaw), have 2 university degrees, net wage quite above polish average (even if average is counted gross), and still can't understand why there are educated poles who curing their complexes in this way. you're not better, you educated idiots, can't you understand such a simple think? you have no right to such a behavior!

when talking albout anti-semitism and homophobia. i think that most poles might be slightly anti-semitists, rather in verbal level only. but... most of jews are anti-poles (i saw official israel video about preparing trip of students to german death camps in poland). both nations are full of ignorant when talking about each other. going to so called homophobia... sometimes i think that everything which isn't pro-homo is called homophobia...

hmmm... this thread should be named "why fast-food isn't popular in poland"...

maybe we should recall worst fast-food we ever ate in poland and then recommend it to sheila?

my proposition is: kebab bar, located in center of sosnowiec, next to Kiepura monument. it's cheap, unhealthy and stinks. its just perfect for you sheila :)

Travel / Bieszczady or Zakopane? [23]

All the time. Zakopane is too over-crowded and too expensive. Views are nice but I would prefer the wildness of Bieszczady every time.

bieszczady rulez...

aghghghrghrghrgr...what a torture to see this picture - i'm still at work... :)

who thinks that aussiesheila is from australia? i'm not.

first. he (maybe sheila is she, but i doubt it) is writing his posts when in australia is 3 in the morning :)
second: he said that he got friends here. after 9-days experience he got friends? hahaha :)
third: explain me - why australian is so interested with trolling on polish forums? maybe are poles responsible also for koala holocaust and global warming?

i think that he is fat, lonely american ignorant working in mcdonalds restaurant in warszawa :)

p.s. in poland you can't even call a "big mac" BIG when compared to the typical american meaning of this word...

Life / Polish people and Politeness [84]

As for the seats on trams

you have to live in warszawa :) warszawa is quite strange city - please don't judge whole poland only on warszawa example.

you have right in some points - poles are cold in public area, and very warm in their family or friends area.

conclusion: poles aren't so easy to categorise - warm or cold :)

News / Poland - the least liked German neighbour. [210]

and so what? what should we do? most of germans are 100% ignorants when talking about poland and poles, so why should i care about what ignorants say?

I have a conclusion about us, poles. we shouldn't take to much care about who likes us or not. we are not (at least i'm not) for liking. e.g. its almost impossible to convince ignorant who had never been in poland, that poland isn't a 3rd world, and ignorat's car is quite safe here, even his 11 years old skoda :).

i have a family in germany, including germans, they are living in the west part, and belive me they aren't shocked when they coming to poland for holiday - it was i to be surprised with amount of alcohol they can drink. and they call us alcoholics, what a impudence :)

so, leave most germans alone with their ignorance, and concentrate on making our live here better :)

cheeers :)

History / Endecja - State Sponsored Anti Semitism 1935 - 1939. [138]

hi m-g,

i'm gonna to show you other side of the coin.

endecja wasn't nice, but in mine opinion there was a reason for that. i will give you some facts about jews in pre-2 world war period.

* most of jews (75-80%) hardly spoke in polish. that's somehow amazing, they live here for 700 years, and they were unable to learn the language and understand their polish neighbors. most of jews lived in voluntarily closed communities, they chose to live like this. they have their own, separate school system, which was sponsored by polish state. and guess what they learned on history lessons? of course - the learned onlyhistory of palestine... after 700 years (!)...

* many jews despise poland and poles. the source of this lie in deep middle ages - e.g. - jews were hired by polish szlachta as a tax-collectors - they can read and count in opposition to most of polish farmers. who likes tax-collectors, especially those not very honest? jews started to use the opportunity, and they really didn't respect those farmers too much.

* many jews called up to polish army during mobilisation have deserted in the very first days of II world war. were they good citizens then? i don't think so. polish pre-war communist party was full of jews, and in mine opinion commie is the same pri.c.k as nazi.

* it was not "a few" jews to welcome liberation from glorious red army, it was a common view in eastern poland. and guess who helped nkvd establish there new order including plunge nearly two millions of poles to syberia, kazakhstan, etc?

* jews also didn't buy in polish shops, didn't go to polish doctors...

i'm not saying that poles were only poor victims of jews, i'm just showing the other side of the same coin. poles didn't like jews and jews didn't like poles. one side of the coin is what you called "state sponosred anti-semitism", and the other side is "community sponsored anti-polonism" and it's hard to say who was worse...

best reg,

"It is good to note that at least a few Poles call a cat a cat"

hmmmmm... i was SARCASTIC, and i was counting on your intelligence - you disappointed me... please take this into consideration when reading my post...

clarification: your knowledge about poles, europe, etc, is very poor. i don't wont to discuss with you about this, because its wasting of time.

p.s. start counting days to leave poland.

have a nice day

Language / Harmless old-fashioned Polish swear words/phrases [159]

in southern poland very useful unharmless swear is: "ty pierunie" which means in enlglish: "you lightning". or "ty giździe", or even "ty ciućmoku" and even more even "ty ćmiylu".

outcome is that, "W szczebrzeszynie chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie" is not so hard to spell :)

Life / SOME OBSERVATIONS ABOUT POLAND AND POLISH SOCIETY [297]

soon and moon, i have some thoughts about what you said here.

i agree with you - poland does not belong to western culture, represented by france, spain or italy. just like you said - poland isn't looking like those countries, isn't the same like those countries, so it cannot be a part of western world. how genius you are. let's take a look for finland. using your way of thinking finland isn't a part o western culture - it's a country to the north-east of poland, thats first. it's even colder there than in poland, so much, much colder than in italy - another HUGE difference between finland and latin culture. they are even whiter than poles, maybe both nations are part of some odd "snow culture of non-latin and non-western europe"?

do you know any of their national football player being black? not a single one? that's shame... how many mosques is in finland? maybe still not enough? maybe because finnish are rasists? maybe that's why they have morea ikea's than mosque's? what a great idea... and last but not least - finland isn't looking just like spain or france, lots of non-latin-culture lakes and forests with non-latin trees :)

so conclusion is: pray to not be dropped to finland.

have a nice day.
tow.stalin, the homophobic pole :)
