UK, Ireland / Ed Miliband, new Labour leader, talking about Polish immigrants yesterday [62]

Sometimes the truth hurts....

Agreed.

I'd say that Mr. Eddi Miliband has an unsolved issue with his polish/jewish origins and that's why he mentioned the Polish in the interview.

Better for him I suppose to solve that first and then start the title race ;-)

They certainly dont look at what the working wage is for a builder, instead they say "oh I can do it cheaper" FACT..

That is called free economy market. In Germany we had the similar problems. It's the way it goes. The EU opened the doors and of course people are looking for opportunities - no matter from where they are.

I have issues with anyone that undercuts and English man

I don't, because your government allowed this situation and now crying or complaining over it is little bit amoral.
In Germany same situation. Face it, change sth if you can but get over it.

Japan is pretty much a monoculture but is very far from being barren.

98.5% Japanese, 0.5% Korean, 0.4% Chinese, 0.6% other
Those data are from wiki. Quite old I suppose, but they cannot afford to shut their doors ;-)

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

we will serve 50 Germans at a time they will need to strip down and take showers before proceeding to reparation point.
Some Germans will be able to write a letter to family and state how much reparation they receive and how good everything went.

Can we choose the soap? ;-)

Life / Gypies/Indian-looking women with kids beg for money in Poland [143]

We should all follow Frances lead, remove the beggers of ANY nationality...Aparently Britain is flooded with gypos from Slovakia, Poland and all ther other A8 countries...Maybe it wasnt just Romainia we shouldnt have allowed to join the EU :D

From what kind of tree did you step down?

Stop complaining and see that your governments changes the policies for immigration.

Sick of your double moral standards.

Do you think he was a gypsy?

No he his parents were Hungarian Jewish immigrants.

Life / Poles - what other nationality would you say you are most like? [125]

Trying to understand cultures solely in terms of alcoholic beverages is very superficial.

That was a joke. Sorry you did not understand it;-)

A parallel is anyhow that in many ways(if the amount is not too excessive) the beverage and the life style surrounding it is a sign or level of their people hedonism. That's the reason I mentioned it;-)

Whose economy is now dust because of lying, thieving, betraying, being all around unlawful and ineffective?
More than only stereotypes me thinks...

Germans have more than dirty hands in Greece in the very recent past. Don't forget Mercedes Benz and Deutsche Telekom and their recent bribery scandals there ;-)

News / Smoking ban in Polish bars and restaurants (AT LAST!) [400]

This is again a move forced by the EU to reduce smoking but initially all governments are having profit by tax through cigarettes.

If this sh1t is an effort top reduce smoking, hahahaha...

The owners of bars and restaurants will have to make special space for smokers or they are completely banned.

What a big bullsh1t.

Everywhere in Europe (France, Germany, Greece,...) locally the laws are turned back in the "old" way...not to forget in some areas smoking/tobacco is part of their culture.

This is waste of time and money by EH. Nothing new by the way ;-)

News / Smoking ban in Polish bars and restaurants (AT LAST!) [400]

Last time I quit for about three years, then came that damn trip to Mongolia...

It's possible, but very very hard. One of my friends succeeded, but gained approximately 15-20kgs weight...

I still believe that this non smoking campaign is just a temporarily thing. It will not reduce the number of active smokers or future ones.

USA, Canada / Do Polish guys like American girls? [103]

just to highlight there are "real" men out there who dont feel the need to put down women

What is that supposed to mean? Nice argument, ama.

Are you a "real" woman?

Unfortunately the stereotypes about american women are not so far from reality. I am sure there are some in the middle who are attractive and all, but you have so many silicone babes there running around or the ones who are giving shade in summer and warmth in winter.

Sorry, but the measure in terms of looks is quite high...if you once have been to Brazil, Cuba or in Europe to the ex YU area.;-)

To Pennsylvania, I was there and I saw a lot of big, I mean really big women there. I am sure there are attractive ones. Maybe they were just hiding when I was there...;-)

Well i respect my mother

I respect my mother too. What kind of an argument is that?

there is not rocket science to that;). Nor there is a magnitude in this argument either.

Of course not, man. Just how he formulated it, it looked to me that way and that's way too much.

Honestly, do you respect ALL women ;-)

Life / The Polish people have a strange attitude to cats and dogs? [84]

That is not strange at all. If you are from an urban surrounding maybe, but for them it's normal and unless the dog get shelter, food and water nothing bad.

You'll find that in villages in Germany f.e., too.

Life / The Polish people have a strange attitude to cats and dogs? [84]

So true. I mean you have to of course care for them but most important to understand them.

There are some over bred races like German shepherd, Rottweiler, Dobermann etc. but most of the mistakes makes the owner.

I recommend sth I watched recently on Discovery. 'Dog whisperer'. Not bad for beginners ;-)

This is just one of them.

They don't make exceptions and you can expect a firm rap on the knuckles for breaking the rules.

Via cigarettes to the 'Big brother is watching you' state?

Awful. I'm getting scared if that's the new reality. How can they invade my private space?

Is that democracy???

News / People says that EU bringing many nice things to Poland. Tell me about it [104]

We need Croatian beaches in EU! Let them in! :-)

..if you like to lay on stones when sunbathing... Are you a fakir?

Apparently a lot of the educated classes are dead against it in Turkey.

They have probably a good prediction what might happen. EU is nothing solid right now. Better join some other club.

PS, interesting PF factoid. There are more topics started here by Serbians on Kosovo than by Poles on Kresy :)

That shows only who has balls! No offence.

what with the serbs DNA being 25% arab

I don't consider that as bad. Many Arabs are known as beautiful people. Can't remember the name of one of the top models of Victoria's secret....Yamila Diaz-Rahi. She's from Lebanese decent.

There are sandy beaches as well. Most of the islands have beaches... BTW, why not just lay on your terrace when sunbathing? Much nicer than the beach.

For the islands you' re right, but the rest... just rocks.
Terrace for sunbathing? You don't like the sea and the chicks there, right?

Well, those gigantic balls didn't get the Serbs very far, so it's probably not a good idea for the Poles to follow suit. Especially considering that Poland is on the up...

We'll see. The story or how to say the game is not over. It's over when the 'referee' says so...even though it's not looking too promising.

Poland on the up? For what price? Who is 'on the up' there?
Polish' last president was the only one who showed the EU some resistance and did not fall for all the fairy tales they tell...but that's now done.

So PL, where do you go?

UK, Ireland / The more subtle differences: Ireland/Britain v Poland [310]

Give me a traditional fried British breakfast anyday - it knocks the socks of what the Poles have to eat each morning. Generally I like Polish food - but Polish breakfasts simply don't cut any ice with me. No competition at all I am afraid - with or without baked beans.

That's the reason why British are the most fat people in Europe. Their 'kitchen' is a joke.

My place in Split is about 500m from Bacvice, pretty sandy :)

Lucky you.

What did he do to stand up to the might evil EU? Nothing. Just a bit of talk for the masses, he knew exactly what he was doing.

I hope so that he knew what he did. Evil EU? Your not serious I hope. That's a little too simplified.
The old 'axis' is rolling again. That's ok for you? What about the 'sense of community'?

Well, Poland can leave the EU at any time. Most people are living much better than they did 10 years ago... That's a pretty good indicator of "on the up" I suppose.

I met Poles during holiday and they who I spoke to miss the 'old times'. Seems that money is not all after all.

Good one convex! Nice joke.

Fish & Chips, Hot dogs...nice, nice...cholesterol by bye...

Your opinion reflects the average, ignorant version the Poles put out.

I know that the truth hurts. Sorry man.
Btw, I am not Polish.

Poles have never tasted any real traditional English food.

Good for them.

For example English deserts (i.e. various pies, trifles and crumbles) are wonderful. When Poles do have deserts (which is almost never) what they offer up is pathetic.

Man! Desserts. How can you praise desserts. Pies? Muss brechen. What is that at all? That's what you offer is pathetic.

As for the English being fat - have you actually travelled around Poland recently? It's an eye opener. Polish men are fatter than most English men - by a long way. Too often they are a lot more drunk as well. I suppose that comes with the monotonous diet of fat filled sausage, oil fried meat and high cholesterol foods they seem to adore.

No, but the Poles I met during vacation were slim, whereas the UK imports had the weights ;-)
The last statistics I read on the German health institute did not mention fat Poles but fat UKers, yes. On pole position.
Alcohol? What about your pubers? Too much black and white, man.
Read in some yellow press magazine that some 17 year old teenage girl has/had 20ltrs. of vine per week. Not bad. Keep the spirit. ;-)
