USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

I've been to a couple in the US now, and the food was terrible versions of the basic staples. Kotlet, pierogi, golabki... If Polish restaurants would do a fusion like the menu of that place that was posted earlier, I think it would appeal. If they keep serving subpar versions of the basics, they'll be about as popular as other northern European restaurants in the US...

News / Multi-culti (in Poland) -- roadmap to disaster? [344]

This is not to suggest that darker skinned people do not have the capacity to make a contribution to a civilized society, because, even in Nigeria, you have millions of highly educated people...But as I suggested to another poster, name one country in Black Africa that is equal even to a bottom rung country in Europe.

Botswana, Namibia, Gabon...

Gaborone is very nice btw.

Are you sure it's the food? Like I've said; time, price, etc.

Decent reviews as well.

I'm still convinced that the reason you don't see more is the same reason that you don't see an abundance of German/British/Swiss/Czech places...

Work / Salary expectations in Poland [373]

But what can I expect/demand in salary? - Before and after taxes.

Do you know which company it's with? might want to do a search on the company and the word "pensja".

Most people in this country are liars, cheaters, and scammers.

Dunno, I've bought, sold, chartered, and maintained aircraft here with no problem on the contract, quality, or payment side of things.

USA, Canada / American...Polish Resident...Returning to the land of milk and honey [103]

back in the promised land. 25 degrees every day, every single day. wait, let me correct that, it doesn't dip below 25. there we go. it hits 40 before noon. ac is working overtime. had some great "yellow snow ipa" from rogue, and polished off the night with some boulevard "double wide ipa" and "harvest dance" wheat wine. brisket is in the smoker, the sprinkler has been prepositioned, and the fridge is full of beer. should be another interesting evening :)

first impressions are the same as last time. people seem to be blinker phobic. police are much much more noticeable. the beer is much better. service comes with a smile :) you can still buy a pack of socks from walmart for $3.

News / Should Poland leave the EU institution? [147]

Where would they be, then? No such thing in Poland exists.

Just about every country has highway strips, Poland has quite a few.

But uh, back to Poland leaving the EU?

UK, Ireland / Websites for Poles to benefit from Britain! [210]

Be it the 'Benefit breeder' ie Indian/Pakistani's who have about 10 kids, all claiming benefit. Or the Polish mothers falling pregnant in Poland, and deciding to move to "the islands". Or the Somalian immigrants under asylum in council houses with 10 kids.

You forgot to mention the worthless lazy Brits that live off of benefits.
