UK, Ireland / Female health in Britain - Polish view [105]

(Like they suck out everyone else. Poland trains people and pays for the education, and then Britain sends their recruitment fairs here and steals our educated people.

You are one hell of a dreamer.

Absolutely pathetic statement.

Real Estate / Do we need to get a UK solicitor or a Polish one? [19]

The British Embassy won't get involved at all

I,m not saying the British embassy will SORT IT for you.

All the answers you require can be obtained from the British embassy in Warsaw.

Advice and assistance.

The British Government considers embassies to be for consular assistance, not for everyday things

Is bereavement an everyday individual thing ?

assuming they'll even bother to help you.

Of course they advise, I,ve been there, have you ?

but they simply aren't interested in the personal lives of British citizens.

Now, please.

The British Embassy gives advice?

If you go through the appropriate channels and something goes awry, then you can sue
( even the gov ).
The lawyer they recommend should be competent.

They can not leave British citizens in this scenario without help.

Any problems, then contact your local MP, that,s what they,re there for.

Always keep all documentation for such eventualities, never try going it alone, you could lose everything.

Don,t trust too much advice on this site or any other.

All the answers you require can be obtained from the British embassy in Warsaw.

As you have guessed, yes the deeds will have to be transferred to your name, as well as searches being carried out to assess there is no debts against the estate etc.

It will be quite a complex affair unfortunately due to the bureaucracy that exists in Poland.

UK, Ireland / Which country is more corrupt - Poland or the UK? [35]

I really don't know what your point is?

Sorry I did not put the entire article, but I believe the foreign tenders were half of what the Polish companies were offering.
You have to ask the question why such a phenomenal difference.

UK, Ireland / Which country is more corrupt - Poland or the UK? [35]

Could you please show some evidence to back this claim up, please?

Construction companies from as far afield as Belarus, China, India and Turkey are lining up to build roads in Poland.

Overseas builders have so far won contracts valued at zł.2 billion and are competing for more, worth the same amount again.

introduce communism in Great Britain for 45 years and then see
if you can sort everything out in two decades :

If I had pound every time I have heard this excuse, then.........

I just wish you could do the same thing in the UK.

You just haven,t a clue, there is absolutely no comparison.

Czechs didn't lose 35% of their population in the war, didn't have their capital
razed to the ground and didn't lose such a big part of national industrial potential
and wealth during the war.

Violin music please.

Then you can come back here and lecture everyone on how insignificant communist
times are on the present-day Poland.

Excuses, excuses.

Gets a bit boring after a while.

Law / The 'Secret' of Poland's Economic Success [83]

could somebody explain this article, something does not add up,

Pensions are paid from ZUS contributions, which have declined due to Poles working and registering abroad.
Pension funds is a misleading term, for no fund actually exists. If for example the British public stopped paying their national insurance contributions, then the government would only have enough funds to pay pensioners for up to 4 - 6 weeks.

So the problem the Polish government have is basically a shortfall, to which they will have to subsidize ZUS pensions.

Love / ARE THERE ANY DIVORCED POLISH MEN WHO WOULD WANT TO DATE AN ENGLISH WOMAN [11]

Can anyone give me any information on what Wejherow is like.

Wejherowo is an old garrison town, with many of the military buildings still existing, although serving different purposes. ie. civic offices.
As most Polish towns it has main square with surrounding shops, cafes, ice cream parlour and a bar providing outdoor seating under large umbrellas, where one can relax with a refreshment, whilst taking in the local environment.

Currently a lot of modernization is taking place to further enhance the town.
All according whether you will be staying with family or friends, there is further history and places of interest, which as locals, I am sure they would fill you in.

The tri-cities are a short train journey away and are a must see for any woman tourist. Loads to see and take in, you certainly won,t get bored.

As for " ARE THERE ANY DIVORCED POLISH MEN WHO WOULD WANT TO DATE AN ENGLISH WOMAN ". I,m sure there are plenty eligible gents, but personal introduction is a must. Remember Shirley Valentine.

Well I hope this little insight agrees with your taste and you have a pleasant visit.

It is good to see you are self aware and not embarrassed to deconstruct yourself. Maybe there is hope for you to shake the Polish pride complex yet.

Thanks for the back up beelzebub, that Tymoteusz is some kind of fruitcake, lol.

Why are you such a wet blanket? You appear to me to be either mentally ill or just a mis-educated fool. You sound like cancer to me. Get some chemo before you spread

What are you talking about? I don't see it. You should seek some counseling for your depression/self-loathing/painful rectal itch.

This is just the kind of talk that shames Poles and gives bad vibes.

Sounds like you need some " anger management ".

I recommend you read about our history. I think you will be quite surprised with the things we have to be proud of.

Every country have their heroic tales.
History is exactly that.... history ( the past ).

" Feeling ashamed of my heritage". ....... nothing to do with pride.
He is feeling aggrieved about the way Poland is NOW ......... repair that !!

So far the most honest advice you have been given comes from beelzebub.

DISREGARD what the others are saying. When it comes down to patriotism and defending Polands honor, the same old names just keep coming up.

You are right to feel the way you are feeling. Polish people have changed and are no longer the people they used to be. ( I speak of the majority ). It saddens me too.

I regard myself as a " citizen of the world ". It means I have no identity with any one place. No patriotism or bias and no one can label me to any particular nationality.

Respect to the honesty of your post, because honesty is whats important.

Remember, " I am who I am ".

Real Estate / Apartments too expensive for Poles living in Poland [54]

From my experience with Poland alot of people live like the Waltons..

Quite right, and the sad thing is that the middle generation ( ie. the 40+ ) are still going to college to study for better qualifications, thinking this will put their world to rights, only to find in the long run that its been a waste of time, because everyone else had the same idea. Theres just not enough jobs to go round.

Poles are on a merry-go-round to nowhere,

What is so wrong about looking after the people who gave you life and kept you until you reached adulthood.

They have no choice, but to live this way, they have to get off that merry-go-round.

How ? ........ Those that have something in Poland are generally the ones that have worked abroad.

So to cap it off, yes " Apartments too expensive for poles " is a correct statement.

UK, Ireland / WHAT IS SO SPECIAL LIVING IN U.K [90]

The reason why many Poles went to UK was probably that they know English better than Swedish, French and other European languages.

Nothing to do with an easy ride then ?

Claiming benefits etc.

WHAT IS SO SPECIAL LIVING IN U.K ......... its what is called " a welfare state ".

Travel / Driving to Poland from England - any tips? [264]

i want to make sure that they are both safe?

Use common sense and dont park too far away from the public eye.

tomtoms with europe maps included.

Got me to Polish border no problem, after that I know the route.

safe speed to drive on the motor way in mph

70 - 90 mph, again use your sense.

any guess at how much it would cost in a car that size

Used 2.0litre toyota, it cost between 180 -200 pounds depending on how fast you like driving.

how many time i might need to stop, the less stops for me the better,

If youre the sole driver, get a good nights sleep prior to leaving, hopefully a morning start. Aim to get as far as Berlin, then stop and kip for an hour. Any longer and you tend to feel more tired than before you stopped. ( people are different and you may need extra stops, this is only my recommendation based on me personally ). After this you are approx. 2hrs from the Polish border. Central Polish cities ie. Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow, a further 5hrs.

If you are able to share - drive, the journey should be quicker.

DONT FORGET CLUNK - CLICK..... HAVE A SAFE TRIP.

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [110]

Well theyre not though, fcuk sake many rich and famous people are found rooting around in these types of establishments

Of course they are, youre giving the impression that the whole of Hollywood and high society in general use these shops. Its only a minority and good PR for those few.

Conclusion: the human race loves a bargain.

This is very true, but you can get bargains in shops like Next, that sell off end of lines for example for 1 pound an item. And these are brand new, not 2nd hand.

In poorer countries these shops are big business, in the UK, they are charity shops.

Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes?

So about 80posts ago, why didn,t someone just say, these 2nd hand clothes shops are aimed at the poorer members of society ? ........ simple.

Theres no shame in that.

It's 2 completely different things.

Tell that to Mr Tusk. lol

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [110]

Shops with second hands cloths are everywhere, on every corner.

Not in any of the cities I've been to.

Why aren't you ashamed to lie like that?

Figure of speech ?

people are experiencing economic hardships

Polands economy is supposed to be super, so what hardships ?

Lack of money.

What lack of money, Poland has the best economy in europe.

Money is the root of all evil, it has to be abolished.

Absolutely.

By responding to TIT’s skewed statements, the members of this forum are promoting, perpetuating his biased views. The appropriate response is no response.

Law / Child support in Poland:is the income of the father's spouse taken into account? [34]

For me 2000PLN sounds very high

You just can not imagine what you read on here anymore. Sounds high to me also.

Child support is based on accessible income, in other words, what is left from your husbands income after mandatory bills are paid.

eg: So if you show proof that he pays half the rent, and its not you alone that pays it, then obviously there is less left in his accessible income.

Thats the English CSA regulations anyway. Updated information can be sourced at csa.gov.uk
