Genealogy / Being ashamed of Polish ancestry? [156]

Do people with at least second generation polish ancestry in a foreign western country feel ashamed of their polish descent? I'm polish myself living in poland and I often notice americans of polish ancestry very often hide their polish ancestry here and act arrogantly like they were anglo. To be honest when I speak face to face with western people I feel somewhat inferior even in my own country. But I guess it has much to do with the fact that my interlocutor speaks better english.

I still think Polish people do have better foods in Poland than America.
Why? Because we have American products which is made in Wisconsin, Michigan or other states.

In Poland you have very good products which is why your Polish foods taste so delicious. Compare to America, I think you all would choose Polish Foods over America.

I am Polish American. My ancestories came here from Poland (cracow) in 1900's. Yes, back then it was Austrian & Hungarian Empires. Which mean I might be Austrian & Hungarian too. I do have blue eyes which mean Sweden people have blue eyes too. My father's families lived in Germantown in Waksmun. So I may be German too. Now people are telling me our langauge is Polish & Slovia. Seem like I have all nationailites. I would like to know more who am I.

I never did DNA. Maybe someday. Now we are in 2010 and why it take so long to find out where our ancestories come from They do travel alot.

My mother was telling me that her father didn't like living in Poland. My mother was telling me that her mother didn't want to leave Poland. They both were born in Krakow, Poland. They did fall in love and got married in Poland. After grandparents had 1st child, he went to live in America. When their child was 1 year old, grandmother and my uncle moved to U.S. for while and my grandparents had 5 more children born in U.S.. They all went back to Poland and settled for while and they had 4 more born in Poland. My grandfather got tired of living in Poland and moved back to America till his death. See my grandparents lived apart. My mother didn't like idea how they lived. Well, my mom went back to America and married my father and stayed together for 40 years till my dad passed away.

Before you married, make sure if you really want to move out from your city to another city for good. If you don't, don't get marry.

I am having visitors from Indiana. My family are very old fashioned who don't eat American foods but only Polish Dishes. I am trying to find good restaurants to take them since I don't live in Chicago.

Look around lot of people in forum do not write English well. I look at this way, they need our ideas, helps, learn our cultures and friendships.

This is Holiday and we shouldn't be upset about mistreating by people of Polish Forum, boyfriends or girlfriends. Don't get upset if you lose your jobs. Hopefull 2010 will be better for all of you.

I am here to help you not getting desperate and commit suides or go jump to lake. We all have to live with it. Without males or females. Don't forget there is alway someone better than old one. Be positives, be honest and concentrate your job also.

Wow! I really have somegthing to say.

1. Ladies goes to College to be something. How come ladies have cleaning jobs?

2. Everybody says Polish women are beautiful! Yeah, they pose nude in Playboy magazine. Did they get better jobs after posing nude? No. No one don't want them.

3. You Men says Polish women are dress well. I don't think so, these ladies dresses properly in office, hospital or night club or Cafe too. No underwear. If I dressed like that, my boss will send me home to change my clothes. Good thing I dressed properly. Other co-workers were send back home to change their clothes.

4. Polish ladies do not act like ladies, they get so drunk and passed out on roads or sidewalk in pulbic place. Hopeful your boss don't see pictures of you on newspapers or TV. Some were in jail and sent back home to Poland. Shame on you.

5. Why do all Polish people (over 300,000) leave Poland? What is wrong with Poland? Can you help your country?????

How can you say What Poland can't do? If I think of something, I will post again.
