History / Poland: Her heroes and her traitors [214]

He knew Washington

well, it doesn't mean there were friends!:)

Kosciusko initially reported to Gen. Gates and when he was relieved by Gen. Greene, Kosciusko worked with him and did most of his major works under Greene.

One of them was his friend!and other not!

Life / Are foreigners welcome in Poland? [267]

but not this kind of staring like at animal in the zoo.

Its your interpretation, I confess that I sometimes stare(hope in discreet way) but its due to curiosity then malice.

Don't go to India then, because as a white woman you will be not only stared at but more....

History / Have Poles blood on their hands? :) [496]

I mean exactly that its a myth to illustrate alleged Polish guilt, anti-antisemitism and alleged participation in killing Jews.
There wasn't even proper investigation.
Other myth is Kielce and alleged pogrom.
Why is so hard to understand that not everyone is interested in facts but have an agenda.

Sigh. No, I don't want to get into THIS kind of argument

What kind of argument is "this"?

I'm absolutely certain that Jedwabne and Kielce did happen

If by above you mean that in those places some number of people were killed, murdered and most of them were of Jewish origin -

nothing you say can convince me otherwise.

-I have no intension to convince you otherwise.

But if you mean something else than I would call it prejudice or foolhardy prejudice.

History / Have Poles blood on their hands? :) [496]

What I mean is that a big number of defenceless women and children were killed by people of Polish ethnicity solely because of their nationality

in that case I would said (if you are genuine) that you are being mislead.
Anyway why do you persist in this folly is not clear to me.
Prejudices or temptation of being more holy then the Pope?
wrong cause then:)

I just think that the rare, but definitely true cases of wrongdoings and shameful incidents need to be acknowledged.

Indeed, but we shouldn't be coned to acknowledge incidents when Polish population were only bystanders not perpetrators as in Jedwabne's case.

Read some of my earlier posts

I will but not today:)

The article I posted was trying to get away from the moronic view of Poles as Jew hating knuckle draggers.

Indeed, funny that it was published in the Guardian,

In Jedwabne's case a bunch of moronic Poles were definitely perpetraitors.

Well, what give you such certainty?

What people say is that Poles massacred Jews, because that apparently is what happened there.

Allegedly!

The list goes on the more one looks but never does one find a single person that most Poles will agree is a Pole.

What list? Harry list?
Harry claiming to be Internationalist but ardently defending everything British - You are an hypocrite Harry!

History / What British unit liberated Poland in 1945?? [445]

In the 21 years from 1918 to 1939 Poland had invaded four of its neighbours

What it has to do with anything? Britain had been empire for a reason and invaded many country's!

never done a thing to help Britain.

Help with what exactly:)
Ask not what your ally has done for you but what you can do for your ally:)
What Britain have done for Poland?

The question is: why should Britain have lifted a finger to liberate Poland?

demande satisfaite
Because of fighting the same foe together, because it suppose to be war in defense of democracy, freedom and independence of nations conquered by Hitler inhumane regime.

Sure, 89 Polish pilots flew with the Polish RAF squadron

200 000 soldiers in Polish Army under British command!
Enigma
Intelligence provided by Polish agents in Poland, France and Germany (rockets V-1 and V2 )

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

We all can get angry at the US for "discrimination" of Poles

**** I want only statistics and I'll shut up!
Are you saying that Latvians and Lithuanians and others are less likely to overstay they visa then Poles ?
All I'm doing is asking about stats - if you don't have them its means you are talking out of your ass!

krysia
And that is exactly true. The Polish goverment works with the American goverment and they know what's going on, they know many Poles don't come back and that's why there are visa restrictions.

Have you been thinking long to come up with such a crap?

History / Have Poles blood on their hands? :) [496]

The list of Poles who really do have blood on their hands.

Define "have blood on their hands" and tell me more about the list, because I have never before heard about existence of such list.

So it is Harry's list or something different?

History / Have Poles blood on their hands? :) [496]

All three of the Poles I named above did just that and there are more.

Whatever they were Poles or Polish citizen I care not, as taking part in Nazi crimes was collaborating with enemy and as such they were traitors.

Even if you could name 30 - which you cannot :) - it means exactly nothing!
What are you trying to do?
Every country have criminals and renegades, Poles didn't formed armed unit to support Hitler as many others - read it - Renegades: Hitler's Englishmen by Adrian Weale. :)

crimes against humanity"

And what is that ? precisely

Well, they could attack weakly defended western German border!

The rest of your post is fantasy stuff! :)

All three of the Poles

All three :D? **** I guess you have a case Harry:D

quote=nincompoop_not]but must agree with Ukraine issue.

Many hated us for it. Like some Czech.
I blame Władek and Jagiellonka for it...
if they didnt start it we wouldnt hear about Poland from sea (Baltic) to sea (Black)

History / What British unit liberated Poland in 1945?? [445]

And yet another Pole forgets that France did indeed invade Germany in September 1939,

Yeah? say who French? they fight the same as in 1940!
they send what ? battalion ? don't make me laugh Harry!

Britain couldn't have attacked as it had no troops in places

Oh they could come later to support French offensive!

oles tend to be very good at forgetting important facts when it comes to history. My personal favourite is the line about how they were betrayed by the 'west': what goes around comes around and you get what you give.

thats the bulishit and you know it Harry !
And our alleged betraying Ukrainians is lie invented by you!
Poland at last tried, the sole reason to take Kiev was to help allies!
Point is that Britain didn't attempted to do something .......well I think they do not know better, let's forget it.

Poland had neither the size, nor the human capital to could have hoped to match Germany or Russia...chosing to play the game like them to their rules could only spell doom.

Thats right! the logical answer was to accept Hitler proposal and become his ally!

Do you know what guerrilla war brings onto the population of the area? It could be much worse then it was, as for west support? phew! Russia is closer and had much experience with destroying people.

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

Maybe it's not what you want to hear?

There was discussion about it! Percentage of refused visas are just percentage of refused visas, it tell us nothing!

I keep asking about statistic to tell me visitors of which country are overstaying their visas most:)

I know it's hard to accept, but as nearly every none-Pole seems to know: Poles are in about any immigration issue the biggest group, let alone a few exceptions.

So what?Is that the reason to discriminate?

ou're contradicting yourself in one post. You're agreeing with Krysia on exactly the same thing that I said, be it in different words.

I quoted her words to criticize her!

Still no stats of Poles overstaying their visas as compared to other nationalities

Once they were of no further use to you, you sold your Ukrainian allies to the Soviets.

We were talking about it before, you prefer to be an idiot, so be it.:
"
Yes, we sold them at last we had a motive - money!
Whats your excuse for betraying us ? pure malice? British malice ?

"

I was just trying to point out that the UK did not direct the Nazi's to attack Poland just to prepare for war.

Well, I'm not sure that you are right!

Britain was an ally of Poland, stop attacking Britain and attack the real villains. Oh sorry,

Well, nobody is attacking Britain but there some issues which need to be explained as its seems nobody is able to do so.
All we get back is aggression or bullsite about how much Britain done for Poland.

Well...some say all later mess started there...but british empire border drawing is still demanding blood even today!

Actually Britain were very restrained as to borders between Poland and Germany, its was France which supported Poland.
As for border with Russia neither France nor Britain had anything to do with them!

History / What British unit liberated Poland in 1945?? [445]

Oh, it was so nice of you to only kill 39 of them. Such self-restraint makes the entire event perfectly acceptable

if what you claim is true then yes is very good of such jew haters not to wipe all Jews out 1

Jedwabne was under occupation and there might have Nazis there but the simple fact remains that Poles did all the killing.

the simple fact remains that Poles didn't do the killing and you are living in Poland for many years and I think that you shouldn't jump on every opportunity to talk bad about Poles.

Now name a Pole who was convicted by a Polish court of having taken part in the holocaust

and is that some kind of test? worry about holocust or you are bad? well, I don't share your values.

I don't need institute I can interpret evidence myself and I say that in the jedwabne case that killing had been done by german unit.

evidently some elements of the local population were present at the time of the killing but there no evidence whatsoever that local population have anything to do with it.
