Best advice to give is to ask all the questions to your grandparents and great grandparents you can.

ask about the churches they attended
ask about the old pictures ( sometimes family doesnt write on them) so they need to be identified.

ask about the towns they lived in American and in Poland if they know.

Write as much down as you can, or you can ask your grandparents to write you a book to keep and talk about
their lives and if they travelled.

ask about all the cousins, get names, Married names, Maiden names.

I wish that I was as young as you are now and curious to know about my family, it was a very hard hobby to take

interest in, but it is fun. sometimes you get frustrated, because you know there will be more, one thing to remember is
history never ends, So family history can go on forever as long as your family continues to grow.

sometimes in Junior High they want you to do family tree ( immediate family) you will have already accomplished this
if you gather all this information, it will be like having a library of your family at home.

I wish you luck, and stay in school and keep your interest in family history as you go back in time you will get many surprises

not always, just depends on who has the stronger genes in either side of the family.

my dad had darker complexion and both parents were Polish, so it depends, and then me and my middle brother were born
with almost white hair ( blond) and now both of us have either brown or dark blond hair,


not really, hes just pointing out that his kids are a mix of both, healthy, which is a good thing, as we all know certain ethnic

groups have documented genetic diseases which can be passed down to the children..

you do what you need to do to protect yourself all the time as with any situation if you go into a bad area or feel like

someone is threatening you call the police or get the hell out of there or use karate on them, I would if I knew how to

you shouldnt put up with it no matter what your race or nationality.. make sure you carry some kind of protection if you
feel threatened, but I think this would only occur in areas where there are clubs/drinking and someone decides to be

in Canada you have to wait too, my co-workers mom has heart trouble, she was supposed to have a echocardiogram
and some other tests run , but the doctor took a vacation and wasnt avail , with no coverage and so something as important
as your heart you would think they would at least have a doctor avail for the patients to come to during his absence.

I was asked a few times what my job was by several cousins, I just chalked it up as small talk, people do ask what you do

for a living, even people I run into here, so its prob just conversation. I cant see someone wanting to know what your wages are

to make you feel small , does anyone see polish people openly discussing how rich they are and that they despise poor?

I would think that is something you keep private as to what your financial status is so you dont get mugged , flashy people
I could see this happening too, if they are jerks they deserve it.

But , I think its the same there as it is here, there are reasons why people have what they have and those that dont, my thoughts are

that some people dont want to futher their lives and just accept and only exist.. most of these folks are drug users, alcoholics
etc , you have some that will be rich and fall into the poor catagory because their social lives have caught up with them and
they had a handle on it, but somewhere down the road hit disaster. something traumatic might have happened or they just live
like they are 17 all their lives and dont want to grow up and accept responsibility.. I have seen all of this.

I guess it all depends on the person, but we cant be making something bigger then it is when really it is not like that most of the time

you have much larger groups of rich folks who do help poor with monetary gifts and donations to causes for humanity.

I have heard of the games getting rough and hospitalizations because people get way out of hand, I am sure
there is occasional statistic, but that happens because people cant handle losing. so fights break out and riots

there are some who were born into poverty and there are plenty of people who were born into poverty who became very
well known and rich only from their experiences and it didnt change them or how they wanted to help others..

so lets see if we can find examples.. I pick Henryk Gorecki for one. not born in a rich family, but he did manage to work hard

he experienced the war and wrote about it and he became rich by way of his heartfelt music.

these ants when they provide pest control and could keep my garden going good because they dig around the roots to give them air.

They have a purpose as we all do, we find our purpose in life and we follow it.

we keep on going, because that is how the cycle works.. disruption causes major problems as we are seeing with the economy

I am finally taking the test, this new test says for both male and female and can detect both maternal and paternal lines from ancestry

so I want to truely know.

Delph gave me food for thought because he said no one person is all Polish and of course thats true, we surely dont know how long

our ancestors were in poland , so to fight with him on that is really unecessary, he makes a valid point, one which should make those

interested in finding out their real DNA get the test and bring their results back * if willing to share* so we can see or compare, for all we

know some of you we are speaking to on Polish forums could be one of our ancestors from many many years ago.

Barney, this test is new, they are still trying to ship them out, you have to have reservations, because the test is newer. maybe the older

tests werent so informative, I never jump on the first ship that comes along, because I know they are going to improve it and they did

plus it was less then the old tests. ( savings)
