News / Homosexual lobby steps up infiltration in Poland [110]

The problem is that the way libruls go about doing this is by declaring that homosexuality is "correct" as well, which is not only false, but also dangerous in the long run.

No Kondzior, 'Liberals' or 'normal people' as I like to term them, realise that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality.
It is not Liberal thinking to demand that homosexuality is 'correct' and heterosexuality is 'wrong'.
We 'Liberals' or 'normal people' realise that a person's sexuality is their business. We are all equal and make our own choices in life.

But this ignorance and prejudice against homosexuals in the 21st Century is very saddening and has to end.
Hope all 'non-liberals' will grow up and accept this. :)

News / Homosexual lobby steps up infiltration in Poland [110]

So why do you want the homo thingy being promoted even in school books?

Why does it offend you so much that it is?

Do you not wish for your children to be brought up more educated and tolerant than you were?

I'm affraid +90% of people do not agree with you. What's now ? Bigots all ? What about "democracy" ?

Tolerance and democracy are two different things.
Where do you get this 90% from. Link your source or stop making up figures...

Lack of education? Intolerance? Maybe ignorance? Maybe some people are sexually repressed? What is your excuse?
Can you provide a source for this 90% figure?

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

The people who want to take away the right to bear arms are the same people who are allowed to carry them or have armed body guards.

I'm not. The right to bear arms was in relation to having an armed, well-regulated militia, and not for ordinary citizens or for abnormal citizens...

Take away the guns and watch the murder rate go down.
Would any sane person support such legislation in Poland? No.
Would anyone want such legislation to be misinterpreted (like it is in the US)? No.
Do unto others as thou shalt wish is done unto thyself... ie: let the murders kill each other... just don't bring that barbaric uncivilised behaviour to Poland, mmmkay..?

Life / Professional feminists' of Poland meet-up [631]

What i dont understand is why feminists discriminate their sex by saying that housework is bad and it is better to work in tesco 10 hrs a day with a nappy bcayse if ull take a break to the rest room then the boss will shout at u. Housework is much better than going to work!!!

Goofy, do you really believe that women are limited to two options in life; being either a housewife or working in Tesco's?
Or even that housework is solely a woman's job?
You have still a lot to learn young man.

The funniest thing about tis thread is that there's 2 sides; those that are arguing for equality and those who reject it.
It's highly probable that those guys who clearly think woman are sub-human and don't deserve equality, had they been born grils instaed of boys, would be 'feminists' themselves - man-hating feminists xD

I'm not sure whether it's due to lack of intelligence or maturity, but some little boys out there need to do some growing up :)

I'm just a woman who wants women to have equal rights and opportunities. Plenty of men want that to.
All people who want that are basically feminists.
I don't understand what's wrong with that.

As Paulina says, plenty of men want equality for women. In fact, I'd suggest it's impossible to be a straight man with any kind of feelings for women without wanting it. How can you profess to love someone while also looking down on her or wanting her to be without rights or respect?

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Any guy (straight or otherwise) who loves and respects the fairer sex could never begrudge them their basic human rights of equality.

You don't care about the people in those places anymore than they care about you.

First of all, you are addressing a lady. Show some respect.
Second, who made you an expert on that particular poster and her thoughts?

Feminists are mostly a bunch of slimy hypocrites with an agenda that is largely about your ego.

Rather silly, ignorant and unnecessary blanket statement.

There are differences in males and females but feminists, by and large, don't seem to acknowledge the male perspective in this AT ALL.

I'm a male, I don't consider myself as a feminist though.
However, what is the 'male perspective'? You seem to be in a minority with your views. Most males seem to have a much higher opinion of women than you do. And thank god for that :P

Well we can't all hate women. ;)
Personally, I have no reason to.
I think one would have to feel a lot of bitterness about women and have experienced a particular type of upbringing to say some of the crazy things I read on here.

We can only educate the world one lost soul at a time :D :D :D

UK, Ireland / Why are Polish people, especially women, so disrespectful toward the English? [437]

Perhaps its a matter of taste.

Absolutely right; it's all down to taste :)

Personally I find the british (mostly the english) irritating because they are quite cocky.

British guys are not cocky. Polish girls just find us more attractive than Polish or even American guys :P
Many Polish girls want a British boyfriend. But that's not our fault; we didn't choose to become a fashion accessory xD

Life / Halloween vs All Saints' Day in Poland [48]

It's a Celtic festival to celebrate the end of the harvest/end of the year.

Absolutely.
Christians have stolen other Pagan traditions and re-branded them. These include 'Christmas' and 'Easter'...
Although Hallows Eve' is an old Pagan traditional, 'Trick or Treat' is an American addition which seems to be confusing some posters...

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Hej, who's to deny me having a nuclear bomb?

Please restrain yourself form using that cheap rhetoric - Reductio ad absurdum - is not an argument and you know it.

I've seen this dialogue somewhere before...

For those who don't know much about James (or his brother Terry), you can do a little research here:

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Poland currently does not have a gun problem - if it ain't broke, why 'fix' it?
If Poles want to live in a country with 10,000 gun-related homicides a year, they can just move to the States...

guns are made for hunting, sporting such as target practice, defense of home and if need be to be used against tyranny. Besides, it's easier to defend oneself with a gun.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Poland able to field in four to five hours Home Defense Army numbered from seven to ten million people.

Poland has a national army and is a member of NATO, so that arguement is out.
They also don't have a serious gun problem with dozens of nut-jobs murdering children and teachers every year.
I don't think any sane person would want to change the gun laws to make the country less safe.

Do you have any links to those statistic?

Plenty of stats have been posted on the US gun-nut thread; try looking there.

Here's an article for you to look at:

U.S. Has More Guns - And Gun Deaths - Than Any Other Country, Study Finds

The United States has more guns and gun deaths than any other developed country in the world, researchers found.
A study by two New York City cardiologists found that the U.S. has 88 guns per 100 people and 10 gun-related deaths per 100,000 people - more than any of the other 27 developed countries they studied.

Japan, on the other hand, had only .6 guns per 100 people and .06 gun-related deaths per 100,000 people, making it the country with both the fewest guns per capita and the fewest gun-related deaths.

They concluded that more guns do not make people safer.

David Hemenway, a professor at the Harvard School of Public Health who specializes in injury research and is considered one of the top gun violence researchers in the country, said the there's "no question" that the relationship between guns and gun deaths is real.

"It shouldn't be really a surprise to people," Hemenway said.

lefties

liberals

agenda-ridden leftist mindset

More right-wing drivel...

Poland doesn't want to experience all the Sandy Hook, Columbine and Virginia Tech massacres that are so prevalent in US.

Keep your guns and your brainwashed right-wing BS out of Poland.

Polish partisans would have loved to have more guns during the years 1939-1945.[/quote]
poland would have loved not to be invaded simutaneously by two superpowers. Fortunately, it's not the 1930's and times have changed.

Life / Do Poles have a problem understanding American English? [76]

Wlodzimierz, you make basic mistakes in spelling and grammar in Polish.

Wlodzimierz, I'm saying that you could do well with some self-criticism and a change of attitude yourself. Otherwise you'll just get on people's nerves

Sorry dude but Paulina is right.
You do make plenty of basic mistakes in Polish grammar, I know because I make them too ;)
Before you start criticising Poles' approach and ability to speak English properly you should remember how few non-Poles can speak Polish correctly (that includes you).

I'd agree with the opinion that most Poles are very modest and even critical about their own ability to speak and understand English.
I really don't know what type of Poles you're meeting on a daily basis, but from my own experience in the UK and in Poland I'd say that your experiences aren't very representative of Polish people at all.

I'm not sure why you cannot accept this. Are you just here to troll and belittle others?

Language / IS "MURZYN" word RACIST? [686]

Oh for goodness sake guys. I can see this arguement will never end.
I've never known that word to be used in a racist context. (I don't think such a word is racist in itself).
I'm not quite sure why some non-native speakers are desperate to convince the forum that that word is racist, it seems a little bit strange.

If anyone new to forum is reading this, then listen to the native-speakers of Polish. ;)
The foreigners have got this one wrong (but are too stubborn and too egocentric to ever admit it) ;)
