Life / Famous Polish people (that we have actually heard of) [231]

There is a website called Tamizdat & also one called Polish Jazz that has Eastern European & Polish Jazz CD's...there is also an even better one for Polish experimental &

improvisational music that's out there, but I can't find it right now...will post it when I
get a chance.

Two Polish heroes who prevented alien hordes from storming the gates of Europe: John
Sobieski who stopped the Turks at the Battle of Vienna in 1683...Joseph Pilsudski who stopped the Jewish Bolsheviks at the Battle of Warsaw/Vistula in 1920...Pilsudski only delayed the final onslaught of Bolshevism & Naziism, but at least he gained Poland independence & gave it some breathing space...These are two Polish historical figures

who EVERYONE should know about.

Genealogy / Are all Poles blue eyed and blonde? [450]

Yes, all Poles are blue-eyed & blond, except for those who are redheads, brunettes or
bald or who have brown or hazel eyes...some are also albinos, but a small percentage.

Never the twain shall meet...or almost never...unless,of course, the Jewish people help
fund a Polish/Slavic holocaust museum...the is not to say that the good Jewish people
who have remained in Poland should be treated with anything but respect.

Lansky wasn't Polish...he wasn't even born in Poland...Greg Kihn: is he the singer who had a couple of hits in the 80's?...Weill doesn't sound Polish either...How about John Krukowski, Ist Baseman for the 1993 NL Champion Philadelphia Phillies?

Life / Famous Polish people (that we have actually heard of) [231]

Sandy Weill is Jewish...he was a bigwig at CitiBank, and is now a multi-billionaire...there
are no Polish billionaires in America...Lansky was Jewish, not Polish and his loyalties lay
with the Jews...he was an evil genius, a gangster and a Zionist, whose money laundry
was instrumental in the founding of the current state of Israel...'Jeopardy' was a good
song by Greg Kihn.

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

The Polish immigrants that I have met in America in the past few years are invariably
polite & most have a joy of life...the Polish-Americans that I grew up with are more of
the sourpuss variety, but, still, they are very polite, especially w/outsiders.

To Puzzler: this is called 'age before beauty' & 'respect your elders' even when they are
difficult...some day you will be old, and somebody younger may have to wipe your rear end for you!

Yes, Martha Stewart appears to be a Polish billionaire according to Forbes...Koslowski is
Jewish & is in jail currently...but I's sur he still has his money...Jan Kulczyk is a member of
an Israeli think tank called the Peres Center for Peace...if he is not Jewish, he is one of
only 4 or 5 non-Jews in this organiztion.

Also, while the Wachowski brothers make excellent movies & surely have some money,
they are not billionaires...and, one of the Wachowski brothers may now be a Wachowski
'sister'.

Life / Why are Poles always so miserable? Why do they never smile? [512]

The Polish nation has been through hell for most of the last 100 years...Poland wasn't
even a nation in the political sense until after WWI when Pilsudski stopped the Red Army
at Warsaw...then, Poland was independent again...but then it was caught in the meat-grinder between the Bolsheviks & the Nazis, and was ripped up and divided between the two like a piece of meat...the country was ravaged & destroyed...at the same time,

you had a fifth column of another nationality living in Poland, who, even though the Poles had let them live peacefully for hundreds of years, spit in the face of the Polish

people and welcomed the Communists...but this is what happens when the criminals with the guns come and spread the fear...we here in America cannot even begin to com-

prehend such a history of events...so, after the fall of Communism, there appears to be
a new dawn...but yet, the Polish people, trying to rebuild, are hit again with a new force,
this time it's called Globalism...this is when foreigners come in and start buying up large
parts of your economy, because you just don't have the money to compete...maybe there are improvements; some people who were broke before are making money and

now you have Starbucks in Poland...maybe you have inflation, and everything starts getting more expensive...it is a never ending struggle...so, perhaps, many Polish people

who themselves and their families have experienced such history, seem miserable or cynical...life is hard...but, hopefully, the younger generation will be able to make a new Poland, that is for the Polish people, who are a GREAT & honorable people...may Jesus Christ shower His love and mercy on the Polish people & nation.

News / Original cars manufactured in Poland [64]

The PolMobil was manufactured in the late 1950's, but it was taken out of production because engineers at the factory could not screw in the lightbulbs & headlamps correctly.

Life / Any good Polish films to watch? [112]

I recently saw a good movie directed by Poles: the Wachowski brothers 'V For Vendetta'...it concerned criminal elements in the UK, but had a universal message.

Life / Famous / Iconic Polish Women [48]

Grazyna Bacewicz

The greatest of the 20th century women composers, who is also perhaps the greatest woman composer of all time, is Grazyna Bacewicz (1906-1969). She came from a family of artists: her Lithuanian father was a music teacher, her brother Kiejstut became a famous Polish cellist.
