The meaning of my Polish ancestor's last name; Paprocki means fern. Does anyone know the probable region that would eventually end up in? It seems pommeranian to me. Also is this a very common name for Poles to have? I believe it is.

My g-grandfather's name before it was changed was Paprocki. Who wants to be among the millions of skis? haha CKI is better. My dad said the New Yorkers did not like immigrants and if they hear you have a foreign name it was hard to get a job. This is why he changed it.

I already posted that and its Jewish not Polish. Could you imagine somebody having that name and it being called out in school. "Anne Recksiek you're late" that would be hysterical.

Seems I have a good sense for things. I just thought that sounded like a Jewish name for some reason it didn't sound Polish at all. I always have a knack for detecting these things. There was a guy whom people thought was pure German on a forum but there was something very odd about him, he didn't seem like it at all. He said something that sounded very peculier for a German and I thought he sounded like a Gypsy so I asked him if he was a gypsy and he wouldn't admit to it. But later I found out he had told everyone that he was 1/4 Gypsy on another forum but they had found out that he was actually a foreigner in Germany because his German language skills were very average. They knew for sure for other reasons, but I don't remember what they were exactly. Everyone else on that forum thought I was crazy for thinking he was a gypsy, but I turned out to be right.

Being more emotional than most does not make one crazy. Softhearted just thinks that because he has a very different personality than she and therefore can't understand why she reacts the way she does. My ex bf and I were the same way, I am very emotional/reactive and he is very stoic and calm. We tortured each other because of our different personalities.

Not necessarily an oriental trait, I've seen Western Europeans with a slightly inward curving nose that don't look like they could have mongoloid. Northern European people can have very delicate facial bones too, a slightly concave or convex nose can be caused by the bone wearing away. No joke that's what some expert racial anthropologist told me.

But I am a Pole (confusion). I have typical slav personality traits and many people think I look pretty strongly Western Slav and/or Russian. Why do you have disdain for people of your own blood? It bothers me just a little because I feel like I can't relate to white Americans very much and I feel much more inclined to agree with people of Slavic descent. I feel like I have much more in common with them. There are not any or very few Eastern Euros in the part of the US where I live.


Haha I would probably be annoyed too. Its not a very nice thing when someone wants to use you to get with someone you know.
