Are all beautiful Polish girls as crazy as this?

I have been going out with a Polish girl for just over a year now. She is a number of years younger than me, attractive, intelligent and interesting. We do have our happy times, and we adore each other. However, I am convinced she is actually crazy: she seems almost to enjoy conflict; she wants to control every aspect of my life; she is extremely distrusting and jealous; she is very temperamental; and, most frustratingly of all, she is NEVER wrong, and EVERYTHING is always my fault. A couple of weeks ago during an argument she actually hit me.

To be honest, she treats her friends much better than she treats me.

Is this the price one pays for having a good-looking Polish girl? Are many of them as crazy as this? Is this common, or is she a one-off? Can anyone offer sensible advice (preferably based on experience)? I really like her, and I think the most beautiful Polish girls are amazing to look at, but the whole thing is driving me crazy. Help!

In a nutshell, you have summed up many beautifully. This is just how many are, unfortunately. The sun shines out of their arses and they never make mistakes in their eyes. Your post was NOT trolling, it's just the truth!

Permanent PMT here. They are some of the most anal and confrontational ladies I have met and I am not afraid to put them in their place, like I did last night in class.

You haven't gotten them to bend over in the right way then.

Seriously, the OP is deadly accurate in how he describes certain women I know here. There is no sense in debating with them as they can't be wrong. They also want you to attend every family gathering which is time consuming. Conflict is very much sought after, just for the sake of it. It's very lame, really.

Just don't expect them to change.

It's not only Polish women who are like this - anyone (male or female) can be like this.

My last Polish ex was like this and got dumped for it, whereas my Polish wife was the complete opposite. I've had one English ex who was like this, an English/Irish ex who was also like this, and a Lithuanian ex who met the above description.

However, the vast majority of my ex-girlfriends were NOTHING like the above description. So stop generalising!

It's human nature, not a Polish trait, to be like this.

And at least Polish women don't cut your c*ck off if you upset them like Thai women do! lol

Yes, but the focus is on Polish women here so let's not deflect attention from the thread.

I don't think he was generalising either. He was asking. I think there are many such types here, I really do. I've encountered it VERY often.

They are selfish little primadonnas.

As he said...

Are all beautiful Polish girls as crazy as this?

The answer is no, because two of my Polish exes (including the aforementioned wife) were beautiful, so I think my comment was relevant. And plenty of ugly/average women (Polish or otherwise) are like this too!

However, you (Seanus) are not wrong either. There are indeed many stuck-up little princesses these days, but you will find them within every ethnic group - it's not exclusively "a Polish thing", and to suggest that all beautiful Polish women are like this is simply not true.

Aha, but there is a linguistic nuance at work here. When we say 'are they all as crazy as this?', we are really asking 'is this normal?'. We should know that, of course, people are just people and they are not all that way at all.

Of course, I've seen many in Scotland and in other countries too. Still, the traits he chose are more visible here. That's just what I've seen.

And an original question it was....

I don't think he was generalising either. He was asking.

Ahhhh. You are so astute! :-)

I think there are many such types here, I really do

So, we have attempted to answer the OP's question with anecdotal evidence. It is not really a definitive and conclusive study that answers the question. However that being said, the word "many" is key. From that, one could surmise that not all beautiful Polish girls are as crazy as this. However, we aren't exactly sure that the population in your sampling was all beautiful. Also, the term beautiful is somewhat subjective. One man's definition of beauty may be another's definition of hideous. There are and can be a number of cultural influences at play that could seriously impact the scope of the study.

Also, by reading and attempting to fully understand the question posed, are we to wonder if all beautiful Polish girls meet this level of craziness (let's assume that his sample was the 100th percentile of craziness), or whether his sample was the minimum standard, and that there are higher levels of craziness in the population?

They are selfish little primadonnas.

Can you clarify please? Are you referring to the beautiful crazy Polish women, or all Polish women who happen to be small in stature?

:-)

I started the thread. I know it's a sweeping generalisation even to attempt to say that something is a Polish trait in particular - it's just that she often justifies her behaviour as being down to 'cultural differences' and so on (and of course, she's always right - what a wonderful excuse). And she has mentioned that her Polish female friend has similar problems with her Scottish partner, so I started to wonder about other Polish women. In terms of beauty being subjective, true, but I've yet to come across a man who doesn't think she is (visually) stunning. However, I'm beginning to wonder if having a model on my arm is worth all the hassle, the conflict and the stress. Is it perhaps true what Woody Allen said that great beauty drives a woman mad?

well said Shawn:)

Thanks Aphro. Now can you tell me what it all means? I ain't got a clue.

Stereotypes are often based on elements of truth. As Seanus said, it does seem to be a prevelant behaviour amongst Polish models.

she often justifies her behaviour

Well, she is aware of her behaviour. That's a start.

but I've yet to come across a man who doesn't think she is (visually) stunning

Please back that up with some photographic evidence... ;-)

I'm beginning to wonder if having a model on my arm is worth all the hassle

Only you can answer this question.

Is it perhaps true what Woody Allen said that great beauty drives a woman mad?

I don't know if Polish people appreciate his humor. But beautiful people often are a different breed. In the past, I always found it interesting that Polish beauties were a lot more grounded as compared to "western" (and I hate to use that term....) beauties. Maybe that quaintness is starting to fade?

Physical violence should never be tolerated. One hit can lead to much more abuse and eventually devastating violence.

Get use to this, there is more to come. If you can't take it, I suggest you get out while you still can. It's not just Polish women who do this obviously, but Jesus it seems like a national pastime for them..

You don't like to stereotype people, because you don't have the need since is may serve as a crutch, or an excuse in situations, where the answer lies right in front of you.

To be honest, she treats her friends much better than she treats me.

If she knows how to treat her friends better, well, that says a lot. She doesn't have to treat you this way but she wants to.

Oh Cointreau indeed :) Are you pouring? ;) ;) Au contraire, chyba miałeś na myśli :)

Um, well, they are not necessarily beautiful, the ones I was referring to. However, they tend to be and they are spoilt. Personally, I don't like seeing people as small in stature. This is a judgemental approach, no offence, and one which I don't go in for. People are who people are.

Ach, you are better than to discuss things at this level, Shawny ;)

Petite will always be in, man, always :)

Craziness often comes from suppressed and unfulfilled souls.

Maybe true, perhaps there is a family history of craziness in this grill's case.

Perhaps her diet is responsible for her crazyness? Could also be hormonal?
Seanus 15 | 19,674

Hormones for sure. I think it comes through the lack of fun options for people in areas like Upper Silesia. Seeing the same old grey buildings and smoke can drive you nuts. I should know as I am from the Granite City in Scotland.
