Real Estate / Building a house in Poland need advice from anyone that has built [100]

Just about sums up the Polak.
Stubborn, knows best and can totally cock up everything at someones expense.
I have over 30 years experience of the building industry, but they still know better than me.
Native English speaker, but they claim they can speak better than me.
I simply give up when it comes to Poles ( you can,t educate pork ).

Food / Traditional and lesser known foods of Poland [21]

kotlet schabowy - a pork cutlet coated in breadcrumbs

Otherwise known as a " pork chop ".

kaszanka - Polish blood sausage made with kasza

Made with kasza ? ......... " buckwheat ".
Kaszanka = " Black-pudding ".

kielbasa- excellent smoked meat

Smoked sausage.

naleśniki - pancakes stuffed with jam

Thats special ! Courdon bleu ?

'czarnina' is known across Poland. Board of health regulations now prevent the sale of blood in butcher shops, so only those who raise their own poultry or know someone who does can regularly enjoy the soup.

I heard " Castle Dracula ", down south, do a good deal on the stuff.

History / Yalta Conference and Poland [78]

Douglas MacArthur

Ask yourselves who stopped this great man, who was in the position to eradicate the world of communism.

Think how different the world would have been.

No " cold war " etc.

Evil forces at work ?

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

The modern generation of Polish people are unfortunately rude and without manners.

My personal opinion and I don,t care if it offends anyone.

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

Senior members of society have been complaining about the manners of youth
not being up to their standards ever since the beginning of civilization.

I,m not talking about " young people ". I said " modern generation ", and we my friend, fall into that category.

Torq

I am neither a liar or a fight picker, but I too am a well traveled person. I like to put issues across honestly and without bias.

If you also post by these principles, then I accept your opinion, and we beg to differ.
( stalemate )
But I think I detect a little bias on your part ?

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [110]

Shops with second hands cloths are everywhere, on every corner.

Not in any of the cities I've been to.

Why aren't you ashamed to lie like that?

Figure of speech ?

people are experiencing economic hardships

Polands economy is supposed to be super, so what hardships ?

Lack of money.

What lack of money, Poland has the best economy in europe.

Money is the root of all evil, it has to be abolished.

Absolutely.

By responding to TIT’s skewed statements, the members of this forum are promoting, perpetuating his biased views. The appropriate response is no response.

Now come on, play the game.

Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes?

So about 80posts ago, why didn,t someone just say, these 2nd hand clothes shops are aimed at the poorer members of society ? ........ simple.

Theres no shame in that.

It's 2 completely different things.

Tell that to Mr Tusk. lol

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [110]

Well theyre not though, fcuk sake many rich and famous people are found rooting around in these types of establishments

Of course they are, youre giving the impression that the whole of Hollywood and high society in general use these shops. Its only a minority and good PR for those few.

Conclusion: the human race loves a bargain.

This is very true, but you can get bargains in shops like Next, that sell off end of lines for example for 1 pound an item. And these are brand new, not 2nd hand.

In poorer countries these shops are big business, in the UK, they are charity shops.

Real Estate / Apartments too expensive for Poles living in Poland [54]

From my experience with Poland alot of people live like the Waltons..

Quite right, and the sad thing is that the middle generation ( ie. the 40+ ) are still going to college to study for better qualifications, thinking this will put their world to rights, only to find in the long run that its been a waste of time, because everyone else had the same idea. Theres just not enough jobs to go round.

Poles are on a merry-go-round to nowhere,

What is so wrong about looking after the people who gave you life and kept you until you reached adulthood.

They have no choice, but to live this way, they have to get off that merry-go-round.

How ? ........ Those that have something in Poland are generally the ones that have worked abroad.

So to cap it off, yes " Apartments too expensive for poles " is a correct statement.

Life / Feeling ashamed of my Polish heritage. [237]

So far the most honest advice you have been given comes from beelzebub.

DISREGARD what the others are saying. When it comes down to patriotism and defending Polands honor, the same old names just keep coming up.

You are right to feel the way you are feeling. Polish people have changed and are no longer the people they used to be. ( I speak of the majority ). It saddens me too.

I regard myself as a " citizen of the world ". It means I have no identity with any one place. No patriotism or bias and no one can label me to any particular nationality.

Respect to the honesty of your post, because honesty is whats important.

Remember, " I am who I am ".

I recommend you read about our history. I think you will be quite surprised with the things we have to be proud of.

Every country have their heroic tales.
History is exactly that.... history ( the past ).

" Feeling ashamed of my heritage". ....... nothing to do with pride.
He is feeling aggrieved about the way Poland is NOW ......... repair that !!

Why are you such a wet blanket? You appear to me to be either mentally ill or just a mis-educated fool. You sound like cancer to me. Get some chemo before you spread

What are you talking about? I don't see it. You should seek some counseling for your depression/self-loathing/painful rectal itch.

This is just the kind of talk that shames Poles and gives bad vibes.

Sounds like you need some " anger management ".

It is good to see you are self aware and not embarrassed to deconstruct yourself. Maybe there is hope for you to shake the Polish pride complex yet.

Thanks for the back up beelzebub, that Tymoteusz is some kind of fruitcake, lol.

Love / ARE THERE ANY DIVORCED POLISH MEN WHO WOULD WANT TO DATE AN ENGLISH WOMAN [11]

Can anyone give me any information on what Wejherow is like.

Wejherowo is an old garrison town, with many of the military buildings still existing, although serving different purposes. ie. civic offices.
As most Polish towns it has main square with surrounding shops, cafes, ice cream parlour and a bar providing outdoor seating under large umbrellas, where one can relax with a refreshment, whilst taking in the local environment.

Currently a lot of modernization is taking place to further enhance the town.
All according whether you will be staying with family or friends, there is further history and places of interest, which as locals, I am sure they would fill you in.

The tri-cities are a short train journey away and are a must see for any woman tourist. Loads to see and take in, you certainly won,t get bored.

As for " ARE THERE ANY DIVORCED POLISH MEN WHO WOULD WANT TO DATE AN ENGLISH WOMAN ". I,m sure there are plenty eligible gents, but personal introduction is a must. Remember Shirley Valentine.

Well I hope this little insight agrees with your taste and you have a pleasant visit.
