This is still going on? Obama canceled those plans in coercing with Russia upon it. He claims that there's no need for it. Besides, I doubt Bush cared that much about Poland's safety, he just wanted to be "Mr. Big Military Man" and put yet another U.S. base on foreign soil like the so the many useless dozens he already built during his administration.

However indeed, I am all forth for Poland building a nuclear/missile defense system. It's obvious that the Kremlin wants the opportunity to attack Poland if the circumstance comes, and to not feel the lack in potential by having inferior weaponry. As far as the excuse goes that it might be dangerous for Poland to have such defense, it's a defense system, not an attack system. I have studied enough on these systems through the news to know that like anyone with simple commonsense (not at the Kremlin) would know.

I don't get what you mean by it's in the "slavic genetics" that makes it better. I have seen many slavs (most particularly the men) that tend to be not the most beautiful. Personally, there's alot more than just genetics. If you have lived in Poland like I have for 5 years then you'll see that they have all. Beauties, average, not so good looking (or whatever, beauty is in the eye of the beholder). Point is, that there's more to beauty than the genetics, and posters of models (which every country has), and racial generalizations.

Well here, I have bluish eyes, dark hair, but very light skin. Like, very very light. I am Greek but people always do ask me whether I am from somewhere else. People have mistaken me for Finnish, Swedish, Polish, Russian....essentially many of the generalization made upon looks and cultures tend not to hold.

Eh, I wouldn't say animals. Even Darwin said not to. Owell, point is there's rude people everywhere, but the very truth is after having lived in Poland for over a year, I'd say that the people here were nicer than in any other European country I have been to. Go figure.

Having lived in Greece I find this to be very true. Greek women tend to have many Slavic features. Bluish eyes, blond hair, and pale/white skin. It's only when you go very south to the Greek Islands that you begin to see rather some dark skinned ones. Either way though, why rank them fourth. Also I have been to Sweden the women there are NOT more beautiful that Polish women. Scandinavian well... here is my list.

2. Scandinavian
3. Mediterranean
4. Western European

However it's rather hard to differentiate. Slavic is a big word. Polish women look much differnt than Russian women, and COMPLETELY different than Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, etc. women. Also Slavic women can also not be so beautiful; when I went to Romania or Hungary, the women there weren't mostly beautiful like in Poland. Also being in the summer some Romanian and Albanian women have the tendency not to shave their arm pits. :-(

Anyway, Western European is the same. French women, Spanish women, German women are three completely different breeds, they can't be compared. German women and Spanish women would be on the bottom of my list compared to French women. But truth is I have seen beauty and ugly in all of them. If you want the most accurate, it's best to judge beauty by the individual, generalizing always has wrong loopholes.

I also agree with what PGTX said, that Polish people think Polish women are the most beautiful in the world, just like Russians think of their own women, Ukrainians of their own, Greeks of their own, Italians of their own French of their own. I will have to say that the same apply. Surely it's been psychologically proven that men are a tad bit different than women. However there is no hardcore research/study saying that they are different when it comes to searching for relationships partners. I understand what you mean. Before I couldn't tell much difference between Asians, but after having embracing some Asian studies I do. I am a half Greek and half Pole. My Greek side gave me dark hair and eyes and Polish side pale white skin. lol. Nonetheless I hate it when people compare all the Slavic nations together. Get over it people, they're not the same. Especially Poland which is half Tartaric and half Slavic. Also for those combining the Southern Slavs, you should probably go there and see for yourself, many of them look Mediteranean and have different Slavic features than those of the north.

What do you people think, I am half Greek and half Polish with genetic roots that are full 100% on each side and not mixed with exterior haplogroups.

Essentially my skin is much paler that this, this was during the summer when I went out a lot and to the beach. Now my skin is much the opposite. :-/

haha, my naked body looks like a corpse. See, I am anti-sun. When I do go out only my face and arms show. (I'm not to fond of getting tans or taking my shirt off. If you were to see me naked however (lol) you would see the skin color differences.

Yes, Poles and balkan people do get along. I am half Greek and half Polish and there are near a quarter million Poles living in Greece. ^_^ But then again Greece isn't always considered in the Balkans since it can be a term used to refer to the Southern Slavic states. Anyway, don't generalize upon all Bulgarians, I have met many good ones. That was just one idiot who didn't know much.

@CROW - well no, Greeks and Poles do have many ties. Why do you think there's so many Poles living in Greece? While Turks and Islamics aren't widespread in Greece, Germans are indeed. So "Germinization" as you put it might not be in full effect but it happens. I have already run into many German restaurants and bookstores here in Greece.


It already is, do you know how much of a workforce Poland provides to other countries, or how much energy resource is provided? If I'm not wrong Poland is the EU's biggest producer of wood and coal. Either way, with regards to the humanities, Poland has provided tons in my opinion already.

So yes, I know there is another thread for this, but it does a bad job at answering my question. So recently I've been doing a lot off with Belvedere and Chopin; and like all Poles I believe that Polish vodka is the best. However is that true? I've heard that Russian Standard and Stolichnaya are also good, but with their prices they don't seem to compare. Also are Belvedere and Chopin the best in Poland like they claim? They seem too widespread, I've heard other people like Zubrowska the best. Speaking of that, is Zubrowska worth buying? I always see those bison grass in the bottle and think it's going to have a grassy taste or like some herbal drink. Please note I always drink straight and possibly frozen, so which do you recommend the most?

Luksusowa (polish for luxury) is a nice vodka, it's one of Polands finer and is considered a premium on the vodka market. It has a unqiue and smooth taste since it's a potato vodka. But it's just that, if you want a good potato vodka go with Chopin which overrides this one and is considered one of the world best. Also, whats with that bottle of Zubrowka you posted, isn't it supposed to have a green tint?

It depends, I have been all over Poland and fatness in Poland is more or less natural. In other words beer guts, a bit thicker limbs or wider hips and thighs for the older/aged men and women. Not anything to the point where it's obese or significantly unhealthy but the natural weight gained with age. As for actual fatness and obesity I wouldn't say so much at all. Especially when compared to the U.S.

Are you an idiot? During communism Poles were forced to learn broken Russian along with delusional and propaganda of false failing communism and Stalinism. Also, out of all the Warsaw Pact nations, Poland was affected the least, I would say all the Russians did were build military bases, take advantage of Polish resources, and leave their economy shattered for the decade to come.

Also they were teaching about the short periods of American slavery? Really? All Western nations (including Russia) bear the burden of using slaves, but at least we didn't make it widespread by building labor camps and forcing millions to death in the Gulags which was obviously a death sentence with impossible workloads and conditions. The slaves here weren't executed daily, forced to work in below 30 degree Siberian colds and had their families purged and/or executed. Also I don't know whats so non racist about the Soviet Union, in both their great purges and all along the Stalinist years millions were exiled, sentenced to labor camps, or executed based on their ethnicity. Stalin believes a great nation was one with no foreigners whom according to him were wither traitors to the Russian way, spies, inferior with genes and/or productivity, or poisoning the culture. Poles, Ukrainians, Jews, Germans, Scandinavians, and all other Europeans living there were purged of this. As for the "respected" Poles, the 150,000 living in Stalinist Russia at the time were exiled in the 37'-39' purge and more or less 20,000 executed or sent to the Gulags by the NKVD for refusing to leave.
