Off-Topic / What's your connection with Poland? Penpals. [554]

I have a few friends in Racibórz, one of my aunts is Polish, my nephew has a Polish girlfriend, I have a Polish friend who lives here in Holland and I also have a few Polish colleagues..

I became interested in learning the Polish language because of a girl who told me she fell in love with me, but then she went off with another guy just a few days before she was supposed to meet me..

I'm teaching myself Dutch these days, I actually forgot how to speak my own language properly..

Love / POLISH WOMEN ARE PROMISCUOUS? DISCUSS. [153]

men always have been worse sluts than women but for a guy having many girls - white or not - is something to be proud of. a woman should be ashamed and called names.

So far, I've had one girlfriend. I never called anyone names before, but I will admit I started cussing them down for no good reason because they started cussing me down for no good reason. (Rumors blah blah..)

We're all different people, some guys and girls just aren't the relationship type. So what? If we could for once and for all just be honest about that without getting ourselves stoned to death or judged by our environment then that would save us all a lot of cheating, hurting and lying..

I would be proud if I ever found a girl who just really does love me for being me, and honestly, I wouldn't care if she was an ex-prostitute or a former nun.. It's all about today, and well, people change.

Having sex with someone you like or with someone you find attractive doesn't make you a slut. It does make you a human being with desires, feelings and emotions.

Love / POLISH WOMEN ARE PROMISCUOUS? DISCUSS. [153]

You won't hear me deny that it's sleeping around, but if there is no lying and cheating involved, and it's kept between adults who know of the consequences then I can't see anything wrong with that?

youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6qVdNJbkFAQ

I sometimes watch her vlogs, I don't always agree with her, but she's really honest about herself, her vieuws and her opinions, which make her vlogs interesting and useful in terms of trying to create a mutual understanding. So if you do have some time, you should really watch this particular vlog, and see if you still think that people like her should be qualified as sluts.

I thought it was relevant because of the generalizations which are being made here by some people. I really don't think Polish girls differ that much from any other nationality, and ofcourse the same goes for all the boys out there. We'll always be different from one another, so what should give anyone the right to discard something, or someone as being wrong just because of a different vieuw on life? Or even worse, judge someone else for having desires, emotions and feelings that all of us have?

Love / POLISH WOMEN ARE PROMISCUOUS? DISCUSS. [153]

Which is what I can't understand. I mean, what exactly is the huge difference between someone who got married five times or someone who has slept with five persons that he or she liked?

I wouldn't call you a slut if you got married five times. I wouldn't call you a slut if a few of your relationships failed. I wouldn't call you a slut if you really aren't the relationship type. I wouldn't even call you a slut if you seriously feel that prostitution is the only way for you to feed your children.

Call me naïve, but I just really don't think I have the right to judge someone else, or even the life experience it takes to understand someone else who has been less fortunate than yourself.

I guess we do.

Oh, and Misty, wouldn't you think that it's almost impossible to keep such things to yourself?

;)

You know, gossip?

Well, I still live in Holland, and I'm pretty sure my library has very little to offer when it comes to books or novels by Polish authors. It's much easier when you know what to look for isn't it?

:)

Thanks!

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

BUT there's many good sides with poles too, unfortunely not enough to cover up the bad sides.

..and you are Polish yourself?

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

And after all, this was suppose to be an discussion about the reasons for not liking Poland, not an "I love poland" thread, so maybe after all you should be open to some critics, ore you shouldn't read it at all.

Point taken. I just wanted to know if you were really Polish. I mean, it's only fair to know who's criticizing who..

I was last week in Holland and I have to say that we have some pretty decent samples running around free there :) 8 out of 10 chickadees were blond, that kinda surprised me.

Oh, so you've seen them too? I thought I was dreaming..

Love / Polish Pet Names For Girls. [156]

Skarbie. (It doesn't have an ''a'' at the end but it doesn't matter?) I once had a Polish girlfriend, and she used to call me little mouse? (I don't know why, but I thought it was funny and cute at the same time!)

myszko - feminine - read as above...

I know, like I've said, funny! (I think she meant to tell me she was the cat? You know cats, they like to play with mice..)

:)

don't think that women are nice... they just want something...

Oh, I've already figured that out a looooong time ago missy, but I just don't get one thing.. I know they want something, but they always act so friggin' defensive when you're simply asking them if they want something?

;)

Some of them really are though!

;)

Whatever it is I should give a rest!

Language / Polish words difficult to translate into English [66]

ok. how do you say pogodnie in English???

You just did?

pogodnie = the weather is fine.

Yup, you did.

;)

pogodny; eg. pogodny dzień = ... day

You mean you want to say weatherly in Polish? I think you should ask Krysia or Justy, they know more Polish than I do.

:)
