Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

Natasia, Circumcised guys DO NOT get Balanitis, or Phimosis, or Penile cancer, -- Who do you think are the ones buying Terrasil?? Think for a minute about why it is even on this site ...

I have never heard of anyone being in any way concerned about those diseases. In fact, I never heard of tow of them, period.

Apparently you circumcised guys lie in bed at night feeling pleased that you will not likely get those obscure diseases, while rapidly dying from strokes, heat disease and cancers.

Have a nice day.

If you look on the bottom of your computer, it was probably made in Korea, or mostly Korean parts.

Don't know much about computers, do you?

The 'bottom' of a computer (where is that?) doesn't define where its made. Wherever it is made, it certainly doesn't have many Korean parts.

Thats what you get with a Third world education.

Life / Scars of Communism on Polish culture. [55]

All this thread is going to generate is the typical Polish defenders who simply cannot take any criticism about their country......

Thats a typical American sensitivity, yours in particular. So I would think you understand and forgive it.

News / The Political Circus of Poland [306]

not really, there is a real hate campaign aimed at PiS in the media.

Not surprising really, they are insane. You don't get involved with mumbling lunatics, you laugh and run away - otherwise you will waste your life talking to someone who will never get a grasp on reality.

They run about threating Russia with war then complain about a comedy magazine cover. Nutters.

Three kinds of them, depending on the quality of a note: the better, the more expensive:

USA, Canada / Staying in the USA - do I need work visa to apply? [95]

Isn't it the case that if you work illegally, you can be jailed, deported and banned from every entering the US, never mind ever being offered any sort of visa in future?

News / Polish Silesian Autonomy movement [67]

that's the minus of eu, supporting some sort on natiomalism/identity but avoiding on the otherhand seperatism.

Not a minus, more of a feature. If you want to join the EU it means giving up nationalism, it being completely opposite of the idea of a larger state without borders and commonality.

Nations have a choice, they can go it alone and not join the EU

News / Polish Silesian Autonomy movement [67]

so we are definetively moving backwards. everyone his own country? beautiful...

I agree with you there.

How far independence can go is up for debate. Scotland maybe refused entry to the EU by countries such as Spain who fear a breakup. The currency used and economic stability is a problem for new small states. The EU may find these nationalist movements unacceptable as they are against the principle of the EU.

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

First of all, I'm not Jewish -- I'm Scots-Irish-American. Religious fixations??? Circumcision is routinely practiced, in the USA, Philippines, South Korea, and many countries in Africa, which are mostly Christian -- or at least, not Jewish.

Yup, its basically a third world practice. HIV and witchcraft are also common in Africa.

Who cares what the US thinks about it, circumcision isn't practice in many other western countries, its a barbaric practice dating back to pre-history.

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

If someone attacks me in my house with a gun I'd rather have a gun;If they don't you can just flash it and you don't have to hurt any one.

You or your family are 1000 times more likely to accidentally kill yourself before you are ever attacked in your home. If you have a gun there is no point to flash it, train to use it and use it. Its not a badge.

Has there ever been a push to own guns in Poland,

No, not really.

I'm thinking more along the lines of home invasion.

That sort of home invasion common in some countries is non existent in Poland. In Argentina simply having a gun isn't enough, you have to kill your attackers as even shooting them once isn't sufficient.

News / "Lack of Common Sense in Politics and Society" - political correctness in Poland [32]

Ah, the good old days, when it was perfectly fine to rape your secretary, when it was fine to beat your children and perfectly fine to own other human beings. How we miss those days!

Equating a minor person insult with rape or slavery is a bit of a stretch isn't ?

Although thats exactly the strategy of PC; vastly overblown a trivial issue for personal gain.

Travel / Hard Candy - Krakow, Poland - reviews? [131]

well if you will enter a bar called 'Hard Candy'.(lol).... and have never heard of clip joints......
were you hoping for some cheap sex?

In most holiday destinations you get promotions people standing outside who entice people in with offers of free drinks or sometimes nothing, just to get you in the bar. Outright robbing you is unusual.

And why would the name of a bar have much relevance, they have all-sorts of stupid names.

It's good to continue to get the word out as this sort of thing shines poorly on your city when it's been going on for so long. The local police obviously don't give a hoot. That was the biggest shock when we realized they were likely in on the scam.

It being going on for a long time and the poloce don't care becuase its probably not illegal/impossible to prove, like most countries where it occurs - UK included.

News / Coal-Powered Poland Refuses to "Go Green". EU Ain't Happy. [304]

Fine.Are you going to pay for it?Because I don't and I don't give two s h i t s about global warming and stuff.

Well there's a coincidence, I don't give two s***s about the fact that you will pay for it.

it doenst matter mate really, energy is generated by what ever means neccesary as long as its generated.

Polite version: No, its carbon neutral if it was especially grown and extracted C02 from the atmosphere before being burnt. Nuclear is carbon neutral as its doesn't involve carbon at all.

News / Coal-Powered Poland Refuses to "Go Green". EU Ain't Happy. [304]

An idea can't be a scam. The scientific community and anybody capable of understanding their research would have to be in on some grand conspiracy. More is know about global climate change than about gravity, which is also just a theory. Or biological evolution, for that matter. Do you believe in gravity, or is that just a scam, too?

The scam is deniers propaganda machine trying to promote an image of scientific discussion, whereas there is scientists on one side being denied by journalists, Oil company PR, politicians and ignorant bullshitters.

The debate took place during the 1980s and the overwhelming view of the scientific community is that the earth is warming due to human activity.

Correct.

Don't waste time 'debating' with The Deniers, they have swallowed the non-science based talking points of the oil industry.

News / Coal-Powered Poland Refuses to "Go Green". EU Ain't Happy. [304]

I'd think forward-looking Poland would realize it's much cheaper in the long run just to build the gas plants than to keep shoving CO2 underground. Poland has already cut emissions fairly drastically, another twenty percent seems perfectly doable

If Shale gas con be produced in sufficent quantity then we will see coal fired plants in Poland, the trick is to get someone else to PAY for these plants. So in a way I think Poland maybe doing the right thing.

it is a scam

Your arguments are crap.

Life / Television in Poland - embarrassingly bad? [44]

Every country rips off american tv shows

They are not ripped off, but licensed. A lot of the popular stuff comes from the UK and licensed to the US. X-Factor, Pop Idol, Got Talent, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?,Dancing with the Stars,The Weakest Link,Come Dine with me (thats in 30 countries...),Scrapheap Challenge for example

Big Brother is Dutch of course.

Life / Television in Poland - embarrassingly bad? [44]

Why on earth would I want to see that?

There will always be a place for TV in the majority of peoples' lives

The numbers disprove what you say. TV is dying with its older viewers.
You don't seem to be aware that you can download and watch everything that is on TV within hours, often in HD, often before its broadcast in the local region and without adverts. There is ways of getting dozens of TV channels for free, including sports channels. With the money saved you can buy a DVD/Bluray collection.

This is an important point, broadcast TV is for old, poor, stupid people. Its the same in every country, not just Poland and its going to get worse, not better. Stop watching TV and get your entertainment frorm the internet in its many forms or via other media such as DVD/BluRay if you want to pay for it.
