News / New European Council's report: "Poland oasis of racism, xenophobia and homophobia" ... [343]

people think about the European Council

Nobody in Poland thinks about the European Council, in fact hardly anyone knows what it is and does, how it differs from the Council of Europe and the European Commission for that matter. I was just trying to explain to your mate, who pretended to stand transfixed in awe before that august body, that all bureaucracies are effectively self-perpetuating organisms whose members' main goal is to stay at the feeding trough. He and certainly you know that but he likes to play the fool.

That's why you make such a great comedy duo: Harry the bombastic know-all and Jon the naive schoolboy.

I responded the minute I saw it, but what happened to my translation?

the European Council.

The Council is like every bureaurcratic body -- government cabinet, bank board, leadership of any political, civic or social organsiation -- and it's main goal is the endure. The window-dressing is the high-sounding rhetoric -- "The only concern of our just, noble nad hard-working body is to serve, assist, create...bla-bla-bla", but in reality it will do everything in its power mainly to remain at the trough. That is not to say that no such body ever does anything worthwhile for or (in the case of subversive groups like LGBTQ) harmful to society, but even that is mainly to show its usefulness and get re-elected. It is truly naive to think otherwise.

Wszystkiego najlepszego!

some conspiracy

No conspiracy, just life. The playera may change (because they die off) but it's always been that way since time immemoiral. The behind-the-scenes movers and shakers have always moved and shook.

And the average person was and is aware of only a tiny fraction of what's actually going on. Journalists, politicans and in retrospect historians know a little more, but also only a fraction. Not evrerything gets written down for posterity. Yes, every poltician says: "I am here to serve the people. but......." (you fill in the blank!)

They don't 'push'

They push like hell, and pull strings, manipulate behind the scenes, coax, cajole, intimidate and blackmail at every turn of the way. And try to disagree with them and they roll out their hate speech arsenal. If they so decide, they can have you sacked or demoted or otherwise neutralised. It is the totalitarian modus operandi all the way.The thing is that you know all this better than anyone, but prefer to play the wide-eyed innocent.

this democratic and highly regarded organization

Jon plays the naive and innocent card again. All such organisations operate on the basis of diverse lobbies, and lobbies are a form of legalised corruption. The PO is as crooked as they come, but to Jon it is a wonderful, democratic party. People don't just get medals or win Nobel Peace Prizes on merit - behind the scenes it is all about political string pulling. Jon knows all this (he isn't retarded, after all), but he plays the gullible school boy and everywhere sees fair and impartial judges, wonderfully democratic organisations, etc., etc. ad nauseam if he agrees with them. But get him statred on PiS and Mr Hyde appears.

progressive Poland

Poland won't be progressive until it introduces incest marriage rights. A movement is already afoot in Germany. Why must Poland always just follow. It should lead and set the pace with such cutting-edge innovations.

Brothers and sisters in love say they work, pay taxes so why are they discriminated?

Not exactly on topic.

Whenever your stuck for an answer you play the off-topic card.
No, Poland is not an oasis of racism. It is an oasis of normality, family values, religious devotion, tradition and stabiltiy in a world battered by the off-the-wall agendas of various sickies, whackos and loonies. Sure, the slime. grime and crud is gradually seaping over, but it'll take years for Poland to degenerate to the Western sh*t-hole level. And one comforting thing is that the homo marriage nonsense is not likely to happen in Poland any time soon. Whoever wins the election, the constitutional majority required to allow male "marriage" is highly unlkely.

No plans for any of that

You meant to say: No plans for any of that YET. That's how the homo-hypocrites approached marriage and adoptions. They solemnly swore they wanted no part of it, only civil parnterships. And then some cleverly worded sob-brother stuff about how they compassioantely needed to know about the condition of a hospitlaised "partner". The purpose of the duplicity and go-slow was to lull the public into a false sense of security that they're not taking over.

And we're off!

Gentle words will not soften the hearts of those who regard the Seven Cardinal Sins as virtues, priorities and things to live by. To them evil is good, and good is evil -- religion and the family must be undermined, distorted and ultimately replaced with some ersatz libertine construct so we can all live in a "Brave New World"!

Things are getting better

...And you'll probably be happy when attendance in the pervert parades will become mandatory like the Mayday ones were in PRL and pictures of happily married fathers and mothers with naturally born children will be banned from school textbooks and public space in general.

BTW will hypocrite Biedroń be there? Not long ago he was solemnly pledging: "We are not interested in adoptions we only want civil partnerships." But today's homo circus will brandish slogans demanding "Gay marriage with adoption rights".

Since you hate liars so much (or so you claim), you should openly condemn Biedroń's duplicity.

SĘP: This is the Polish word for vulture, a large scavenging bird. The Semp spelling could have occurred in Poladnndue to illiteracy. Abroad, it would be a logical respelling by someone who didn't want to go through life being called Herr, Mr, Monsieur or Señor Sepp.

Kordeczka? Slosek? Bednaz?

KORDECZKA: possibly diminutive of korda, the rope monks tied their waist with.

ŚLOSEK: Looks to be derived from ślósorz (Sielsian) for locksmith, standard Polish ślusarz.

BEDNAZ: Variant spelling of bednarz (cooper); Silesian Bednorz.

Bernat

BERNAT anfd BIERNAT are Polish surnames derived from the first name Bernard.
Incidentally, Bernat z Lublina in 1513 wrote the first book printed in the Polish langaage, a prayer book titled Raj duszny (Paradise of the soul).

Tironiow

Actually couldn't find any name in Poland starting with Tiro-. it looks Russian.
Przybysz-Laka or Przybysz-£ąka (ląka is Polish for meadow) are a faint possibility, but normally the maiden name comes first. £ąka-Przybysz or Laka-Przybysz.

Laka derives from lak (resinous sealing wax).

Przybysz-£ąka...

Indeed, that is a possibility. So many things got misspelt or otherwise distorted over generatzions of manual recopying by often semi-literate village scribes and parish priests asy well as clerks of the partitioning powers, not to mention Ellis Island officials.

Language / Why is the Polish language so difficult? [309]

singular masculine dativ (celownik)

Yes, but singular masculine dativ (celownik) nouns. Twemu is an adjective and only coinidentally ends in -u. The Bratu, ojcu, etc. are archaic hold-overs since except for those 10 or 12 the normal ending is

-owi. -emu is the normal dat. singular masculine ending for adjetives.

KONWIŃSKI: root-word konew (watering-can); possible occupational tag for a tinsmith producing such veessels or a toponymic nick for an inhabitant of the village of Konewka.

GÓRNIA: root-word góra (hill. mountain); rare surname used by only a dozen peole in Poland.

PRZYBYSZLAKA: the przybysz component means new arrival, newcomer but the rest? Maybe it got misspelt. Przybyszlak couldv'e hypothetically been a patronymic tag for the son of Przybysz, but the daughter would have been Przybyszlaczka, not Przybyszlaka.

RYKIEL: root-word ryk (roar); a nickname for someone who spoke in a powerful, perhaps overpowering 'voice; the -el suffix in Polish usually has a pejorative ring to it, eg skurwiel, dubiel, śmierdziel.

ROBAK: Polish for worm, maggot, insect; possibly it orginated as a toponymic nick for na inhatbiant of Robaczyn or Robaczew (Wormville, Bugton).

NOTE: There were blue-bloods amongst the Robaks. For info on the coat of arms and other matters please PM me.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

Evil must but called by its name, not via various trendy euphemisms such as abortion rights. No-one has the right to kill another either prenatally or through euthanasia. The average person doesn't really know what the gender ideology is all about, so those in the know have to explain the threat it poses to the integral family and the very fabric of a healthy society. It was a clever ploy to call the measure an anti-domestic-violence convention to pull the wool over people's eyes and then slip in toxic leftist lunacies such as genderism. Incidentally, the convention identifies the normal family, religion and tradition as sources of in-home violence but conveniently neglects to mention that the most domestic violence is encountered in unmarried and same-sex homes. If it doesn't fit the propaganda, just omit it, and no-one will be the wiser! That's what the leftist loonies apparently believe.
