Life / Orphanages in Poland [82]

I did indeed.... I have contacts in several childrens homes in Poland....My first visit to Poland was on route to take aid to kids in Belarus , then i wound up bringing truckloads of stuff to a childrens home in Poland twice a year....

If there is anything you need to know , just ask , i am glad to help...

Be carefull though..... i started off helping kids in Poland...fell in love with the place....ended up buying an old farm and moving here....

Life / Price of cigarettes in Poland? [192]

As a matter of interest...if you go to Ukraine , you can only bring two packets of cigs back into Poland....Thats not two boxes of 200 , its two packs of twenty...a grand total of 40 cigs....

When the Polish customs man asked me if i had any cigs , i was quite happy to tell him i had a carton of 200 , and he was quite happy to tell me it wasn,t allowed...!

He did let me keep em though....

Life / Womans day in Poland? [242]

Some of the posters pretend to be female while others pretend to be male.

I have never pretended to be male on this forum...well... maybe i hinted at it...

History / Let's talk about the POLISH ARMY [79]

Combat experience is combat experience , it does not matter if its against trained soldiers or insurgents , trust me , getting shot at feels the same no matter who is doing the shooting , and having soldiers that have fought against the Afghans is better than sending troops into action that have never been under real enemy fire....

No matter how often troops go on exercise , or how realistic you make it , there is nothing that comes close to being under fire from people who are trying to kill you , and having guys around you that are used to it gives you some confidence you are going to come through it...

Lets hope Polish soldiers are not called on to defend Poland again , but if they are , i would rather they are led into action by guys that have had some combat training , and can do the job under fire...

History / Let's talk about the POLISH ARMY [79]

Forgetting the politics for a moment , Polish troops are getting valuable combat experiance during the current involvement....

If a war ever came to Poland , would you want to send into action soldiers that had never been in combat...????

real wild maffia

Yeah..we had one of these Mafia hard men come in our biker bar threatening to beat up some guy because he had at one time been a Polish prison officer...

We had to pay for a new window , as this hard man left the bar through it...but it was worth it...!

I wouldn't have thought that you can run a webcam over that often or for long.

Why is that..it worked before with my other modem...and this one is much better....

They were kicked out of Riga, Latvia, by certain "undemocratic" moves of local authorities. I mean harrassing the business premises by inspections, raids etc.

I am sure that the Polish government in Krakow could manage the same tactics....
