8 years of scams, scandals, affairs, nepotism and unkept promises scored by the dodgy Platformer clique is something no other party can match. Additionally they are masters of PR, propaganda and pulling the wool over the public's eyes. But the Polish nation have finally caught on them (better late than never!) and is poised to deal them a crushing defeat in October.

"Teraz k***a My"

That is simply a colourful way of saying "now we're up to bat". That kind of lingo BTW is typical of informal PO conversations as witnessed by the secret tapes of Sikorski, Rostowski and other Platformer flunkies. In public they spout pious platitudes without end, in private they sound like low-life drunks, thugs and lumpenproles. Cultural schizophrenia or garden-variety hypocrisy?

Poland's most successful government

If that is how you define scams and unkept promises, then all one can say is: consider the source. You are indeed an Orwellian through and through: Ministry of Truth (manufacturing propaganda and disinformation), scams = success, white is black, perversity is virtue, etc.

Nic sie nie stało

The phrase "Nic się nie stało" was attributed to the Tusk clique after every scandal (AmberGold, gambling, uncompleted Euro 2012 motorways, shipyard fiasco, clandestine tapes, cases or oldboy nepotism, the list goes on...)

crime and corruption

The allegations being hurled at PiS are a Sunday school picnic compared to the 8 years of scams, scandals, affairs, nepotism and unkept promises scored by the Platfusy.

PiSuarzy

The flat feet are all washed up in Polish poltics. Their backing is down to 19% and dropping. One shouldn't be surprsied if they soon approach the support levels of the also-rans: PSL, Petru, Kukiz and SLD gang.

public money

Probably no other Polish political formation has carried out a burglary in broad daylight of such proporotions as when the PO-led governemnt broke into and drained the open retirement fund to patch up its budget. Then they followed up by raising retirement age.

Luckily that band of crooks and scam artists will get swept away in October and the legislative lemons they leave behind will soon be undone by their PiS-led successor cabinet.

News / Degenerate "rainbow" eyesore to disappear from Saviour Square (Plac Zbawiciela) in Warsaw [297]

Christians

Christians like Harry, I presume. BTW nice photo shop work. Unless the place has been reconstructed Saviour Square was always a relatively small circular plaza with arcaded buildings framing it and the church as the main landmark. Whatever the case, your obsessiveness is still showing. Ride every small detail to death. Winning the debate at all costs. That's your chronic obsession. Get a life!

being anything other than a biblical symbol.

Direct your complaints to the LGBTQ lobby for hijacking a Christian symbol. A pile of muck would have been more apropos.

"Rainbows used to mean something very different than they do today," the pastors write on the website of the Antioch's Bible school. "It used to be understood as the sign God put in the sky to remind us that e He'd never again destroy the earth with a global flood. But of course, that's not what most people associate a rainbow with today." It has been co-opted by "the homosexual movement".

anything other than a biblical symbol

Your feigned piety is pure (wink-wink) hypocrisy. You know jolly well what the Zbawiciela rainbow stood for, why the jons of this world (who are none too religious) were obsessively attached to it and why it was attacked. It had nothing to do with the biblical rainbow that appeared to Noah but was hijacked by a noisy, pushy lobby as a symbol of their perversity.

hypocrisy

That would be like saying that swastikas are OK because they once symbolised an ancient, pagan sun god. But we all know who hijacked it and what it came to stand for. It's much the same with the rainbow.

socialist realist

Socialist realist 100% is the nearby Constitution Square. Plac Zbawiciela is highlighted by a neo-Baroque-like church and stylised surrounding architecture that does not clash with it. It is a fairly small, cosy and atmospheric circle as is. Adding fun fair-like kistch of any kind, let alone a blatantly and provocatively anti-Cathoilic symbol directly opposite the church, was in very poor taste and strictly out of character.

pretty rainbow

So a metal arch with tacky plastic particles stuck on and out of sync with the architectural entourage is the epitome of artistry and good taste in your books? Interesting!

attack dogs

But the only acceptable kind are the micro-chipped ones that regulalry attend Sunday mass.

opposite Kino Tęcza

Kino Tęcza is OK since it's tucked away in a side street and only seen by those who actually make it a point to see it. Plac Wilson would be horrible -- subjecting innocent, hapless pedestrians and tube users to something so nausating would be a crime against humanity.

in charge of protecting this one.

They should import some good, well-trained American attack dogs and appoint Harry to be their handler. But they should make sure they're all properly miscro-chipped. EU humans will be next, eh Harry? Poland will be the testing ground.

never seen the rainbow

The rainbow was kitschy, tawdry and tacky from a purely asethetic point of view. It was the kind of thing one expects at a fun fair where tackiness is part of the atmosphere - not in front of a church, palace or historic monument. Even if it had not been the symbol of a morally toxic łobby, it was the epitome of bad taste.

Nope - I avoid places with a shady and suspct reputation.

miraculously escaped wartime destruction

"It (the rainbow) does not fit this place which is climatic. It was one of the few that survived the Second World War," was a comment found in the link below. I'm not sure if that's the one I got it from but it is one of hundreds of bits of inforamtion and opinions one encounters daily in the media and on the web without psychotically agonising over each one.

Only a mega-pedantic stickler and obsessive nitpicker has nothing better to do with his time than to trace down ever minor bit of trivia in his manical quest ot be a knoww-all. Any psychiatrist will tell you that is always the sign of a deep-seated inferiority complrex.

attack dogs

I have already explained but not everything catches on the first 12 or 15 ctimes, so here goes again. I use attack dog and police dog interchangeably, assuming that the purpose of a police dog is to attack and subdue a fleeing criminal on command. Since you claim EU police dogs are not trained to do so, then I don't really see why they have them in the first place - as a decoraiton?

On the days when trouble erupted the square was patrolled round the clock. It had been discreetly observed by plainclothes police and municipal guards on a regular basis with monitoring cameras closely watched at police HQ. Again to repeat -- no-one ever said it has been guarded by riot police for three solid years.

were paid for by the taxpayer

Such is one of the perks of an MP and all of them have benefited. Attack those who framed the law and start a petition drive to force MPs to use therir own cars or buy transport tickets.

riot police

niezalezna.pl/61309-plac-zbawiciela-jak-oblezona-twierdza-tecza-chroniona-przez-setki-funkcjonariuszy

For glimpses of police in full riot gear andnad a water canon at the ready check out this link.
For the benefit of non-Polish-speaking expats, let me translate:

Saviour Square like a fortress under siege. The Rainbow is protected by hundreds of functionaries.
Plac Zbawiciela jak oblężona twierdza. Tęcza chroniona przez setki funkcjonariuszy.

Hundreds of armed-to-the-teeth police and riot police* functionaries, water canon and over a dozen police patrolcars as well as municipal guardsmen - such is the line-up of the rainbow defenders in Saviour Square. (...) It appears that for the city authorities the 6-colour construction has become a National Treasure, and so it was that throngs of police functionaries were despatched to Saviour Square to protect the symbol of the homosexual lobby.

*In PRL riot police were called ZOMO, now they are called OPP (Oddziały Prewencji Policji or prewencja for short).

Has the rainbow finally been removed

Yes, thank goodness, it has. No more tawdry, kitschy eyesore desecrating a cosy little corner of central Warsaw. Hopefully the pervert café will also move away.

invisible non-existent

The info was not untrue but perhaps imprecise. Over the past three years there were occasions when the square was patrolled by police accompanied by police dogs (pictures prove it). Not everyone knew that EU police dogs are so stupid or improperly trained as to be unable to attack and incapacitate a human target. Apparently they only bark, growl, scratch themselves and urinate. It was never stated that for three solid years the site has been patrolled, but it has been under regular municpal guard surveillance.

public transport

Public transport includes LOT, but what does any PO-loving nitpicker care? The point is discredit the president and trash PiS no matter what. If it's one person's word against the otehr, one can believe the head of state or some local PO flunky.

why has the Minister of Justice

Because he's a Platformer operative. That tells it all! The Platfus clique is nwo sh*tting bricks and are dredging spreading hearsay and insunuating anything they can to discredit Duda and PiS. One wouldn't put it past them to start accusing the president of being a cross-dresser or wife-beater. But let them have their futile fun - the day of reckoning comes on 25th October.

They have the proof.

Duda himself said in an exclusive TVP interview that he was in Poznań on parliamentary business and would ono lie when such things can easily be verified. Newsweek went off half-cock just to outjuicy the other weeklies.

And MPs are allowed to use all public transport during their tem of office free of charge.

This isn't about Duda

It isn't about Duda, it's about the PO desperately trying to badmouth Duda and PiS in a last-ditch show of cheap electioneering ahead of imminent defeat. It turns out that Newsweek lied about Duda working as a lecturer in Poznań. The PO and their servilistic hacks and flunkies will lie about anything as they feel the feed trough slipping out of their slimy grip. Kopacz isn't even above jeopardising Poland's foreign policy if it'll get her Platfus gang a few percentage points in the next survey.

should be looking very closely

The sins and transgressions of PO is something you apparently never look at closely or farly!
Or maybe you have let your bias delude you into thinking they don't exist? The Platformers are all pure, virtuous, innocent and sqeaky clean, innit?

Genealogy / THE MEANING AND RESEARCH OF MY POLISH LAST NAME, SURNAME? [4500]

Chorzewski

Yes, it has obviously been resspellt to make it more pronounceable and closer to the original.
CH has an aspirated "h"sound in Polish like German Bach or Scottish loch. It would have been even better if resspelt with an H rather than a K.

Dropping the "W" was a good idea, otherwise it would have been pronounced ending with an -ooski.

Replacing the RZ with an R distorted the pronunciation; Polish RZ has the sound of "S" in pleasure or "Z" in azure, often rendered phonetically in English as ZH.

The best popualr phonetic respelling of CHORZEWSKI would have been: HOZHESKI

Jewish Lobby

You know of course that there is a Jewish, American, Russian, German, probably also a Dutch, Swedish and maybe even an Icelandic and Bolivian lobby in the Sejm and every other parliament. Lobbies are legalised corruption but they exist everyhwere and should surprise no-one.
