Food / Russia vs Poland Vodka war [73]

That's it, Sasha :) The bottle and the label are very slightly different, but it's the same idea. Thanks for the explanation :)

I basically like Wodka only in combination with other liquids, like Cola or Tomato Juice. Don't like it that much with Orange Juice, but I don't like it pure. I drink indeed more beer and wine, although I get more drunk, hungover and sick of beer than of anything else. Don't know why that is. That's only with beer. Maybe it's because you drink larger quantities of beer.

Sasha, what does it mean when Wodka is "milk-filtered"? You're Russian, the Wodka is Russian, so I guess you might know the answer to that?

Edit: no, it's none of these two: it says (hope I get this right) Ha MoVoke and in vertical MbPhaR (with the V in the first name upside down and the last R reversed) and on the backside of the bottle it states "filtered by milk".

Food / Russia vs Poland Vodka war [73]

I just got a huge bottle of "milk-filtered" (?) Russian Wodka from my Russian neighbour in exchange for helping her with her computer. I have to say it tastes pretty good, better than Smirnoff, that's for sure.

I blame the Poles for not inventing Bloody Mary. They had all the Wodka in the world and I am sure they had tomatoes. What was the missing link?

History / The Two Saddest Nations on Earth... Poles and Jews [243]

yeah, so just out curiosity MG, how many days did you fret over this person named Olga and accuse them of being me?

A few times. You were mainly active in April, right after the Smolensk accident. For the rest I couldn't be too much bothered.

perhaps you should think about your behavior a little bit rather than advise others on theirs.

My behaviour cannot be called anti semitic or racist. Yours can be. And that's the difference.

sorry again, since I don't hang around here daily like you, I don't even know what Olga posted.

Yeah right. I never have posted under a different name than my own.

Your personal opinions

Where do I exactly state personal opinions? I only state easily traceable facts, facts which you of course conveniently forget to mention.

What was so wrong with seanus' post and the other that you needed to request them deleted?

That just goes to show you really haven't got a clue. I never asked for a post to be removed and I am not planning to do so. Pls, if you're only going to post you usual anti semitic nonsense again, you're not really an addition to this forum.

"In the beginning there was nothing, only God wandered through the streets of Warsaw."

M-G (hace hactenus)

Don't worry, they do that with everybody, with me as well. I had a thread for everybody to mention positive things in Poles and Jews as a response to all the mutual hatred threads we have seen and within 5 mins it was trashed as well, without any explanation.

But good to hear that for the rest everything is ok with you.

cheehaw

The witch is back!

And in her usual anti-Jewish rampage she "forgets" a couple of vital things, which would be:

- Jews played an important role in every society they lived in;
- Jews were generally loyal patriots. Not all of them of course, but a stunning number was, so that should take care of the willfull separation you repeat a few times.

- Jews contributed heavily to arts, science, politics and so on in the countries they lived in.

Furthermore, Sephardic Jews are not per definition dark skinned. I descent from Sephardic Jews and our skins are/were all as white as white can be, so that is also not quite true.

history clearly shows a group of people claiming to nationals of a country which never existed

Israël existed for about 3000 years, much longer than Poland has existed.

It's actually very unfortunate that you're back as cheehaw again, as Olga you were more entertaining with outright nonsense. Not that you're not spouting nonsense now, but it was more laughable when you performed as Olga.

M-G (very unfortunate that cheehaw is back in her old form after the weeklong Olga-stint)

When is Israël first mentioned as a land? And when Poland?

Jah, forgive Joe 'Pogrom a Day' Pilsudski!..I am hardened 'anti-Jew'...

You're a bit slow on that one, Joe. But I will forgive you on that one. And as for myself, I was born into it. It's in my genes, you know. But pls, heed my request in the next sentence, my respect for you would rise if you did.

Yes! Why don't you post some music of yourself? I'd be delighted to hear sth you produced yourself, like I post my music on here as well. Pls do, you would gain quite some credit, at least in my book, Joe!

Yes the shady Goyim can be just as bad.

MW, will you now stop it before I really get angry at you? You don't want me to get angry at you. I know you're basically a good guy, so don't let me get angry at you, ok?

Bullied?...Not at all...The school president was Jewish, and he was gay..

So what's the story with your anti-Jewish conspiracy theories then?

Well, M-G, good to see that I didn't find my way onto your list of anti-Semites. Some make the mistake of putting me in that category but I really don't know enough to be that way. I dislike rampant Zionists but I dislike most rampant types :)

You of all ppl should know me better, seanus :)

Hey I did give you what you asked. I have been pretty much forgiving so far. It's brainless morons like Sokrates who don't grasp the concept of this and keep on being the intolerant freaks that they are. Mediawatch is one of them too.

Pls forgive JoePilsudkski...he is a hardened anti-Jew and he will never learn.

Historically anything Poles did for Jews, Jews took for GRANTED.

And MW merrily goes on watching everything from just one side. I can name a few posters on here that per definition say bad stuff about Jews.

Mr. Poland-Hater himself, Jan Gross, in Cohen's latest Hate piece on Poland recently.

Will you get a life? When Jan Gross presented his work "Neighbours" in Warsaw, half of the crowd walked away crying and shouting that it was all lies. The other half stayed, as prove that at least a big part of the Polish population is willing to re-evaluate their past and willing to accept any dark periods. Before you care to react, this is the only thing I am going to say about it.

Anyway, I think Poles and Jews are the same: they both cannot get over the past and they both like to whinge and whine about it. Both have some of the world's most beautiful women in their ranks and both are not in the World Cup this year. See? :)

I think both should get over the past and look forward to the future. Seanus is right, Isaac Beshavis Singer is a really good example of how bridges can be built. I have to admit I mix Singer frequently up with Isaac Asimov, but that was an American.

True, but it cost Poland its existance eventually. The country became unrulable and incapable of making effective decisions.

So, since you have not lived in Poland and then you have this miraculous power to know what Poles in Poland are like(believe me, you don't differ from 95% of foreign posters here) tell us more of your neurosis. Will you join us in discussion Polish history topics, or are you ashamed?

Sounds pretty strange coming from somebody who lived a very big part of his life in the US talking about "us Poles".

TO JOLA:I have lived in poland by the way for quite some time, I can chose to be whom I want. and affraid of polish history topics, first of all i said nothing about polands rich history, and if you have a question just ask, dont ever assume anything, because people may suprise you ;) just some future advice

Assumption is 1jola's raison d'être :))

This will not happen. I can assure you that.

Edit: if they do, let them wait until after the World Cup. There are more important things right now :))))

But to get so angry at my opionion is kind of stupid dont you think.

They get angry at anybody who disagrees with them or who has a different opinion :)

he said he is ashamed

That's why I said he put it a bit blunt. He shouldn't have said that. Even though I don't like most Dutch abroad, I am still not ashamed of being Dutch. I do sometimes feel ashamed by association when I see my fellow countrymen misbehave while being abroad, but that's a different thing.

Why don't you **** off ***** ?

Well, Ironside strikes again with furious anger :) Ruslan puts it a bit blunt, but fact is that I have met also Polish ppl that didn't like other Polish ppl, just like I've met Dutch ppl that didn't like other Dutch ppl (seems to be a common Dutch trait though as I generally don't like Dutch ppl abroad either; only a handful). So, what's it to you that he doesn't like Polish ppl? Question you should ask yourself is: do I get less pay if he doesn't like Polish ppl? If the answer is no, then just shrug your shoulders and continue with your life. If the answer is yes, well, that's a different thing then :)

There must be some other reason then. Because I don't believe that Jews without any reason will welcome an invading force in a country that has always been very good to them.

History / Poles and (Polish) Jews... Victims of war... and beyond [380]

As I recall, Stalin wasn't in power in Poland between 1941 and 1944. I know the Poles were pyssed off by certain Jews (surely not all of them) who welcomed the Russians in 1939. But I just wonder how much Jews did this and why they did this. Sure, there were communist elements which welcomed the Russians, but if ordinairy Jews did this, and given the posts on this forum about this specific topic I am lead to believe that also ordinairy Jews welcomed them, there must be a specific reason for that. One reason is clear: those ordinairy Jews were simply happy that it was the Russians who came and not the Germans as they knew what the Nazis did to the Jews. However, this reason has been dismissed by most of the posters here. There must be some other reason then. Because I don't believe that Jews without any reason will welcome an invading force in a country that has always been very good to them. Care to enlighten on this one?

@nott:

To reflect on your remarks about Yad Vashem, of course it's a mainly symbolic gesture. But the ppl who are on there certainly have done good to the Jews. And that's why I consider it an indicator of how well locals treated the Jews in life-threatening circumstances. An indicator also of the fact that there are certainly good and decent elements in a society, just as well as there are bad elements, which joined the occupator's forces, for example.
