Guys, if you ever come across a pub or restaurant run in Warsaw by Robert Surowiecki , don`t even think of going inside.
He planned to name his new premises after an infamous Austrian pedophile who kept and raped his daughter in the basement for many years.
After indignant reactions from the council and net users, he gave up his idea but admitted it was an excellent marketing move.

A Polish guy in Onet forum shares our views and calls for the removal of all such cheap ads from Polish streets and roads. He says he can see the difference when crossing the Polish border from neighboring countries.

Hye, guys, especially Warsovian and others, do you remember your criticism of flashy boards and ads on Polish streets? Things are slowly changing, first in Krakow and hopefully in other cities later on.
I didn`t believe it would happen in my lifetime. :):):):)
New regulations caused it - a formal ban on cheap hoardings and ads. How simple! ????

OK, that is democracy.
Still, demonstrating for political reasons and calling for the overthrow of the ruling government, 2 years after the lost democratic elections, is sheer stupidity and doing so, PiS isn`t going to gain new supporters they crave for so much.
They decided to go radical, let it be. But they shouldn`t be surprised why only radicals have voted them at the next elections, approximately 25%.
OK, that is democracy.

It is obvious they don`t understand how democracy works. Who prevents them from winning parliamentary elections, forming a government and passing the laws they desire? If PiS won the last elections, I wouldn`t protest in streets but would respect their right to govern and wait till next ones. .

5 years ago, with PiS in power, the PO opposition vehemently critisized the idea of installing speed cameras/photoradars all over Poland. PO called PiS` idea a prelude to the police state.
Today the roles have reversed: PiS vehemently critisizes the ruling PO`s plan to put 500 radars in the country.
Isn`t it funny?

PS. I don`t buy Chinese garlic as it is weird, so different than the Polish one.

According to Mr Borkovec, smugglers usually declare that the transported garlic comes from a countries such as Turkey or Egypt, with which the EU has preferential customs agreements, or they declare that they are transporting some other vegetable or fruit.
For example, in January 2011, Polish customs officers discovered a load of 144 metric tons of Chinese garlic, which was declared as onions. The smugglers were attempting to avoid paying some €180,000 in duties, Rzeczpospolita reported.
