News / RUSSIA TO MAKE PUBLIC THE KATYN FILES... [274]

Olga, Zbigniew Rzepa and Andzrej Seremet have had ample access to them. They are just working out the best way to wangle the findings to best fit.

BB, Hitler started WWII. Stalin merely reacted later and joined the war to tan Nazi hide.

The doctored files will be released soon ;)

News / RUSSIA TO MAKE PUBLIC THE KATYN FILES... [274]

It is more of a significant step because it moves Russia one step closer towards 2 classic tenets of democracy, namely transparency and access to information. America is moving the other way by classifying many documents in the name of national security or public secrets etc. It is a nice gesture by the Russians.

Food / What's your favorite Polish coffee? [75]

Hold on just a minute here, what coffees are truly 'Polish'? The ones being cited are either German or international. Nestle is Swiss, for example.

Work / CPAs in Poland? [8]

It might help people if you explained what a CPA was, Pol3. Chartered Professional Accountant or Certified Professional Accountant?

Also, isn't a nurse underpaid the world over? They are certainly underpaid in Britain and I know because my dad is a nurse teacher and we sometimes discussed it on our various walks.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

Well, for a start, Latvia isn't a neighbouring country of Poland's so directly. If you use the Baltic aspect then Estonia should be 'na' too but it is 'w'. I correct myself above, it's na Litwie and na £otwie, I've even said so many times.

History / The great mistakes of Poland's history? [216]

There was no melt, there was a merchant sellout where business took precedence. We are not imperialists and don't pretend to be. We are strong fighters, though.

History / The great mistakes of Poland's history? [216]

Scottish warriors didn't have much money and look what they accomplished in battle. Look at America in the wars it has fought and how money has gotten them nowhere.

Sokrates, why do you constantly refer to wealth? It's borderline obsession and you lust after paper and metal? Where's your spirit?

USA, Canada / The proper behavior an American should show when visiting Poland [159]

1) Don't be so loud. The Americans who have been here before haven't been and they were accepted.

2) Don't act like the territory is yours. When I was in Hiroshima, the US Marines acted like they owned the place and, well, they got 'owned' by the Japanese yakuza.

3) React to those around you, don't shove this 'this is me and this is who I am, deal with it' attitude at them. Some Poles will throw it right back at you.

UK, Ireland / Polish immigrants in the UK - victims or criminals?! [286]

There is nothing worse than being set upon for being 'one of them'. It has cost people their lives in brutal fashion (think of the Balkans). Thankfully, some are neither criminals nor victims.

My condolences to you. Precious few deserve to be a victim of guilty by association. I hope more stories are unearthed here. I hate neds/chavs, nobody is safe from them.
