Ok. Farmers cheese is Cottage cheese minus all of the liquid (pressed). Scone or Sgonn is a pastry. Was it baked or cooked on a griddle? Maybe it was a "griddle scone". You can probably google a recipe. They're very common to have with coffee or tea.

Well, maybe it's one of those super small farm towns. Who knows. The people at ellis island also screwed up everyones names because they were too long and they couldn't pronounce it. Good luck on your search. I'll see what else I can find out.

commercial bigos seasonning ????? What the hell is this? The recipe is ok except for this ingredient. Never heard of pre packaged bigos flavoring.

Bigos flavor is determined by the ingredients you add yourself. This is an artificial flavoring that's not used in Poland and don't recommend it.

Are you sure it's not Wojków or Wojkowo. It is near Goworow but more towards central sw PL.

I think that browning the meat with bones in it adds great flavor. I also stew it for 40 min with the sauerkraut, then remove the bones....then all together. I add a little red wine which also adds wonderful flavor :)

I don't recall saying anything or responding to any of your posts..except for maybe 1. My comment was geared more towards the people that come here and feel the necessity to type BS in all caps with no explanation or validity to any of the posts. Like freddy. At least you'll stay and voice a valid opinion. Very few may agree but we're all different and do have other views on life. I think at some points I may be just as guilty by posting some 1 liners here and there...but hey, I'm bored at work sometimes.

As i've said before....I haven't noticed that poles don't smile much except for some of the older generation. But, maybe it's just my cuteness that made them smile.
