Life / Why Poles have so pro-emigration attitude? [85]

I can remember thinking that 'WOW', this guy is taking one hell of a cut for merely validating documents in his notarial capacity. Somewhere around 1000PLN,

In the US they have notaries in the banks and if you have a bank account in this particular bank you pay nothing, the most I ever paid for getting stuff notarized was $5.Why can't it be like that in PL?

See the thing is that people in Poland don't know any better and they think it has to be like that.I know it doesn't.VAT on food?Crimminals.Even in the states with sale tax there is no sale tax on food.American gov is not trying to starve American people. How long does it take to get a driver licence in PL?In the US it takes app 2 hours and it includes writing a test and a driving exam, they do eyes examination, take a picture of you and 15 minutes later you are ready to go with a spanking new DL in your pocket. All that for $50.Why can't it be like that in Poland?

I found their charges steep, yes. I can see why you might think that things are bordering on the oppressive in the sense of financial squeezing.

Why are the fees steep?Yes I am talking about fiscal oppression.23% sales tax?GTFO out of here.I pay 0% sale tax.I am actually thinking about moving to New Hampshire, they don't even have a state income tax."Live free or die" is their motto.

Do you want to leave Poland because of what you face here?

This is exactly why I have left.

He is sidetracking the thread with his nonsense.

Nonsense? For someone with a slave mentality like you it may be a nonsens. And I am not saying the US government is not opressive but the level of oppression is nowhere near the one you "enjoy" in Poland.

You have no idea what true oppression is, do you son?

ZUS,akcyza,23% VAT,PIT,CIT,all kinds of fees.I am anarcho libertarian and that's opressive enough for me.Do you know how much does it cost to notarize a document in the US?I don't think you do so let me hit you with some knowlage boy,it costs from 0 to $10.How much it is in Poland?

Life / Are foreigners welcome in Poland? [267]

Because he says he likes America and doesn't need to live in Europe and grubas was offended by this so he got defensive.

Nah,I just don't like his attitude, remainds me of the scene from "Born in East L.A" when that black dude says to Cheech "Don't touch me,I am American citizen."Anyway, I am not happy that he had that situation but he simply was at the wrong place at the wrong time. That's all.I am Polish and white and I got "bęcki" in Poland more than once or twice and you don't see me crying about it.Could happen to anybody really.

Life / Are Polish roads really this bad? [237]

Part of the problem is... its not very easy to make tarmac that can cope with the vast range of tempretures you get over here...

a possible minus 40 in winter , and plus 30 in summer.....in summer the stuff goes like toffee and then the trucks wear big grooves in it...

This is not an ecxuse. They have the same tempertures in Germany and their roads don't break after winter nor melt in the summer.

Law / Buying a USED CAR in Poland, my personal experiences and TRAPS to avoid !! [133]

So they learned you about scammers, huh?

No I learned.

A girlfriend of my wife's recently bought a Nissan Rogue with 100,000 miles.

And I bet she bought it at the auction.Buying at the auction means taking a chance, that should be obvious to everyone. .As for the US,in contrary to what some Americans on this forum try to tell you not all sellers or dealers in the US are honest. There is a reason for used cars dealers in the US being the least trusted profession. And there is a reason for which the same model with the same mileage may have a different price depending on who you buy it from.I can only talk about the state of MD and over here every dealership is required by state law to sell you a car with MD inspection (which is a pain in the ass compared to say DE inspection). If the cost of repairs is too high for them to make the car pass MD insp they will not sell it to a MD resident.Private sellers are not required to sell the car with MD insp.therefore cars from private sellers are usually at least 30% cheaper but you have go to insp station and get it inspected. The good thing is that in MD the car has to pass inspection only every time it's sold and bought. That means you have to get the car inspected only once.

Law / Buying a USED CAR in Poland, my personal experiences and TRAPS to avoid !! [133]

in one particular case i travelled to Gniezno in freezing cold only to find that the car that was advertised was still in France !!

Did you say Gniezno? There was an article lately about car sellers from Gniezno on Interia.pl.What I learned from it is that they all scammers.

USA, Canada / How long will a package take to mail from Poland to USA by sea? [21]

Exactly.homofry is a frajer.

She sent it by sea because it was too expensive by plane.

Didn't you say her parents are rich?Anyway, last time I mailed a package (air mail) from PL to US it was 50 PLN (expensive?) and the package was quite heavy.Forget about your valentine homofry, she has got better things to do than mailing valentines to a frajer like you.

News / Polish PM Tusk- dictator or not? What Poles think? [421]

Any evidence that Poland isn't democratic?

If the crooked system started with Magdalenka agreement means democracy to you then yes,Poland is a 100% "democracy".To me it looks more like a crooked oligarchy.

Poland seems to be rather free of the nonsense that happens elsewhere.

You mean Poland Maine?

USA, Canada / The proper behavior an American should show when visiting Poland [115]

Ways of being friendly?

Few Polish jokes will help you break the ice.

proper greetings

"Yo wassup" and high five. They love it.

Things to be careful of as not to offend anyone?

No worry bout it, they don't get offended easily. In order to gain respect remaind them how much US helps Poland sending bilions of US dollars to Poland and how Americans freed them from German ocupation during WWII.If invited for a drink yell "Nasdrovyaaa" loudest you can and adress all the old women per "babushka".

Basically just be an American.

News / Resistance unit (partizans) in Puszcza Kampinowska to fight opressive goverment. [7]

Permision to enlist p' pulkownik. " Churchillski"

Enlisted "Churchillski".In the rank of porucznik (lieutenant).

ps,I can replace the urban look witha more subtle woodland effect courtesy of some stolen SS leisure wear....;) )

That may be helpful.Until we gather more strenght our main area of operation will be forests around Warsaw area.
For now keep a low profile poruczniku "Churchillski",observe enemy moves and report to command.

Guys, im a student currently study in poland, and im applying the resistance card(karta pobytu).

That's what I am talking about.I am going to Poland soon and will try to create resistance unit (partizans) in Puszcza Kampinowska to fight opressive goverment. You don't need any card to join my unit, you just have to pick an alias (I am "Grubas").Do you have any weapon?I am getting one semi automatic rifle here in the US and will try to smuggle it to PL.If you don't have any don't worry our first task will be an attack on some military base to capture some.Hope to hear from you soon.

Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

We would have our own famous products (not necessarily cars) but the rapid privatisation and racy inflation of the break of 80/90s killed whole Polish industry.

Yea, "normalnie pech",right?Polish always have a 100 excuses for every occasion.

Life / Rate Poland (Life Quality / Culture and People / Food): 1-10! [232]

you carefully picked the two that are on your plus side, lol

I didn't even know there were sides and I wasn't judging wheter mobile homes are good or bad.I prefer to live in the US but I don't see it as "totally different".Easier? yes.Anyway,I am done with discussing with teenage girls.

No,this is BS and I am not going to let you get away with "just about anything".You said "totally different" and I don't see it being "totally different".Sure there are little differences but basics are the same.I can list about 100 LITTLE things (like lets say in PL you first fuel than pay,in the US you have to prepay then fuel,no trailer parks in PL,basically no mass transit in the US and so on)but like I said BASICS ARE THE SAME,so go ahead and tell us what is TOTALLY different?

He,he last year when I wanted to get some gas in PL I first went inside gave the girl behind the counter 50 PLN and asked her to put it on pump 5, she had no idea what I was talking about. It was very confusing for both of us.
