Too bad PO/PSL never heard to good ol' American saying: If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

Naughty naughty, Po. Surely you don't really prefer the old PRL-style version with a lack of judicial independence and the scales of justice massively weighted in favour of the prosecution? Or perhaps you just don't care about the low acquittal rate...

So far, pretty well everything that Kaczynski's clowns have done is a retrograde step, designed to increase authoritarianism.

There's a problem with the zachocha się as others have said. If it's meant to be zachokasz się and he just missed the end off (or autocorrect) then the meaning is slightly different but still OK.

That sounds a bit more like "I wouldn't have got in touch in order for you to not fall in love with me.

Absolutely illogical, and shows the entire problem of having these people being political appointees rather than professionals

Basically yet another mess by Jaro and his gang of wing nuts. The horror is that this same ineptitude happens again and again; basically a repeat of their disastrous (but fortunately short) term of office.

If a president (albeit a puppet one) is put at risk in this way, imagine the disdain they have for the rest of us.

Remember that fascist politics depends on there being real or imagined enemies and this has been a theme of JK's political career. Hence him trying to make Lech Wałęsa public enemy number one.

It's a bit like the boy who cried wolf though - he's done it so often and there's so much of a sh1tstorm each time that nobody quite believes it anymore.

It looks like the debacle we've seen here and in other local byelections will be repeated in most Polish towns.

Basically, they've admitted now that they lied about every single election promise.

The sooner they're gone the better.

Did you read President Wałęsa's daughter's comments in the newspapers today? Very dignified, and such a contrast from the insinuations we're hearing from the Kaczynski crowd.

Cheques do exist, however it tends to be companies that use them - I used to pay staff with them if they didn't have a bank account themselves or if they needed a sub from their next salary and I was too busy to go to the cash machine.

The Polish ones used to grumble since they actual had tho go to the bank rather than have the banknotes drop into their hands.

The believe it if they can see it, touch it.

This it's true. I just don't see many people trusting crypto currency here.

Life is not just about "wanting to". That's OK maybe for "me, myself and I" hedo-egoists and animals but not for homo sapiens. Life should be about being decent, kind, humble and helpful to others.

What's that (all very subjective anyway) to do with insisting that people 'abstain' from having a sex life? Unless you think that the religious view you espouse should be impose on others.

People are capable of deciding for themselves.

Circumcision is pointless mutilation. A vasectomy is a very practical and valued medical procedure.

Quite. There's always the tiny, tiny chance that it could be a much older note, perhaps pre-war (when there was high inflation too) - basically he needs to look on the Wikipedia page that has pictures of Polish banknotes.

This seems to be a real theme for JK and those around him. He really does wish that it was he and not Lech Wałęsa who was the hero of the Solidarity movement.

I hope all you PiS voting fools working in hard physical jobs remember the words of Morawiecki when dragging your broken and beaten carcasses off to another hard shift.

So basically yet another promise they made that they had no intention of ever keeping. Echoes of the last (mercifully short) PIS regime all over again.

And, just for kicks : the Ministry of Finance this year (so far) has increased the level of the Polish national debt by 20 billion.

It's amazing to think that incompetence on such a scale is even possible.

I know there are paper experts who can tell the provenance of paper and ink so they might be able to accurately guage the age and source of the paper

Even if the paper and ink are contemporary, it doesn't prove any wrongdoing on President Wałęsa's part.

As a trade union official during the PRL it would be more newsworthy if he hadn't had to have contact with the authorities.
