History / Roman Dmowski-Patriot, Nationalist, Anti-Semite? [252]

Yes, it is time to move to the boycott of Jewish shops.

as for now it's some of those who favour the 'total opposition' who call for boycotting Podkarpackie - strange like this fascist thingy meanders around

Polish is the only Slavic language (I think) that doesn't use wy

Russian uses 'wy' as a polite form of addressing another person much more than Polish and it is in standard Russian and not only dialects - focus mafketis, focus

heh I should now say gumishu focus, focus man - I entirely misread your post mafketis - sorry

The overwhelming majority of sexual abuse cases in the RC would disappear if priests could marry.

you're wrong - the majority of sexual abuses are committed by homosexual priests who lifting of celibacy would not eradicate abruptly - this is not to say that I favour celibacy - many heterosexual priests just have secret relationships or use prostitutes

History / Poland must get back Lwow, Wilno and Brest back [345]

Lvov is the Russian name,

sorry I'm not used to the Ukrainian name - it sounds strange - and I wanted to used a name that is internationally recognizeable - maybe it was not the based choice though

conventions/rms/090000168008482e

ok I found this.. but to my understanding this is a synopsis (although rather large) and not the text of the convention

evnreport.com/politics/the-istanbul-convention-digested

I don't want digests - I want the literal text of the convention

to my understanding this is a synopsis

ok, it looks like it is the actual text of the convention - and yes I haven't found anything about same sex couples - I guess the contentious thing is the definition of domestic violence or the passages like this : 'Parties are required to: ... prohibit discrimination including through the recourse to sanctions" and similarly vague passages

Istanbul convention because domestic violence is apparently a key part of Polish culture

Istanbul convention calls homosexual realtionships marriages and as such could be used to introduce same sex marriages in Poland - Poland has enough of it's own anti- domestic-violence legislation - no need to sign any suspicious conventions

i've found that 'przypierać kogoś do muru' means 'push/drive somebody to the wall'

I think you can sometimes translate it as 'to exert pressure on somebody' but wait till someone confirms it

the system more user friendly they go to war

what makes you think that judges are interested in the courts being more friendly to people - I guess you have an idealistic view of many things

Why do you repeat PIS lies?

I speak from my experience in schools and especially the liceum - it did give an added value as compared to elementary school - maybe it is different now

an averagely intelligent person

yeah, every averagely inteligent person who reads Wyborcza knows that the pilots involved in Smoleńsk crash said: 'Tak lądują debeściaki' (roughly Behold, best pilots land like that') - only that this is an outright lie

The "reform" of the schooling system.

the gimnazjum was obsolete - it didn't give any added value (unlike the German case (because there was no or hardly any co-operation with job markets) - and the problems with secondary education will pass after the double year leaves the schools
