Food / Poles have a more loving attitude to food than here in the UK [169]

reason that a book for their level would use meals rather than dishes?

No, there is no reason at all, especially that in the exercise above the one with notorious pancake meal we can read the proper names for meals aka breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Imagine how confused the student gets when they first read that pancakes are a meal and then learns from the teacher that breakfast is also a meal. Then they are prone to imagine that Brits have pancakes or chicken and rice for breakfast.

That is why I consider the book messed up by British authors who don`t care about food like Poles/Polesses do.

that talks about dishes

BS. We don`t believe one word of you now.

I have no idea what this is about.

Actually, it isn`t so much about nationalities and their cuisines. It concerns nomenclature aka vocabulary. Those authors mixed up certain notions which are logically different.

History / What do Poles owe to Czechs? [87]

We owe to Czechs that they believe the Baltic Sea is their own sea. Due to improvement of transport routes, it is possible for Czechs to travel to the Polish seaside in 5 hours.
50, 40, 30, 20, 15 years ago our journey to the seaside from southern Lesser Poland took 15- 10 hours.

Life / Hey POLISH Do u like PARTYING a lot? [30]

No, 1970s or even earlier.

Main course, some kind of meat, garnished with fried oscypek again. Did obsessed Highlanders run that eatery at the time?

No.
You are lucky! I won`t keep you waiting for the answer.

Appetisers were:
- green salad with pickled redbeet and roast Highland oscypek cheese
-fried camembert cheese with cranberry sauce

Funny but it was a birthday party by a senior citizen which isn`t a riddle yet and I didn`t ask about it.

Food served for appetisers- can anyone guess what it was?

BTW, there are two items next to the plate, on the bottom left. What, namely?

It works

Of course we knew you would say so. While it doesn`t, darling. It isn`t normal English, especially in the light of other sentences which use travel instead of go and you even pointed to it before:

Travel is barely acceptable. A proficient user of the language would say go.

Are you aware you are contradicting yourself in such a stupid way.

What is your pathetic education??? You did GCSEs and went to work at 16 years old???????? :):):)

History / History of Poland in a pill - illustrated [41]

It is amasing to see how modern European institutions aka the EU are abundantly exploiting the liberum veto law during their major votings.
After centuries, old Polish lawmakers seem to have been doing the right thing. :)::):):)

News / Presidential elections 2025 - the race has commenced!!! [249]

During the campaign, candidates attack each other, which is normal and known in other countries, too.
However, attacking your opponent through a proxy is rare.

Leftist candidate, Zandberg, posted a photo of PIS ex Prime Minister posing with Argentina`s President, to bite at PiS current candidate:

Is this PiS's plan for Poland? Turbo privatisation, mass layoffs, cuts in social spending and increasing poverty? Congratulations on your political inspiration,

News / How is the Ukraine War effecting Poland and the rest of the E.U. [31]

Ukrainian comments on Pres Trump`s speech are mixed. Most call for patience to see what he really intends to do.
Some are slightly mocking and negative so let`s post them here as more interesting:

- Trump is not Harry Potter, he does not have a magic wand . He faces many internal challenges and problems, even a trip to Mars. And we hope that Trump will be able to fulfill his dreams and promises to end wars - he explained, emphasizing that the US president is clearly changing his political attitude from aggressive to more subdued.- It should be noted that Trump's evolution continues. In his speech, he mentioned the Panama Canal, but did not touch on the issues of Greenland and Canada. This is some progress. The coming months will be a time of trying to fulfill all the dreams of a child who will soon be 79 years old - he added.

Exactly!!! Alien, you provided the solution which jon couldn`t notice for half a day.
Indeed, saying where did you visit last year sounds very casual , if not awkward. Of course jon will claim it doesn`t but we are accustomed to his lies already

That is why I wrote:
I wonder if they did intend to smuggle such casual speech or there is a logical mistake .

The suspected logical mistake is that all questions are supposed to use the verb which appears in the answer. In case of visit which sounds strange with where, the question should be: Where did you go last week? to sound good.

Food / Traditional Polish Foods [141]

it would be Zrazy.

Yes, you mentioned it again a day or two ago. Amasing! coz it means it is a real predilection, not just fancy.

Wow, I have almost forgotten this dish exists in Polish cuisine. We have never made it.

I wonder why. Probably it isn`t fried that is why I don`t consider it worth cooking.

Here is a dish which consists of leftovers and they are all fried:

potato pancakes, oyster mushrooms, chicken wings.
