dont they check

Do you check whether the director of any company you use has been accused (though not convicted) of a crime. Where are they supposed to check?

And none of your bluster shifts any of the blame away from the guilty party, the thug who stabbed the Mayor to death. Him and any 'influences' he had for his terrible crime.

ect..ppl on online forums .

That's hardly an authoritative source.

The founder of WOŚP is a highly respected Pole, as I recall, he won the most recent Polonicus Award.

Genealogy / Perception of hair color in Poland [14]

multiple dye jobs

They were everywhere in PL at that time, a post-PRL version of the standard 'biurwa' henna rinse.. A few years later I was working at L'Oreal in Warsaw; by that time they were producing more garish colours for Russia etc and more subtle ones for Poland. Not everyone bought those premium brands though, and you do still see some real sights for sore eyes.

Work / Are Indian dental qualifications recognised in Poland? [22]

I have completed my Masters degree in Pediatric Dentistry and now I wish to practice in Poland.

You'd need to contact the Rada Stomatologów. You'll also need a good command of the Polish language.

Life / Bribery and corruption 'fact of life' in Poland? [152]

No argument their except that it's a lot easier to throw a cop under the bus than.

That is very true, it's easier to catch someone who can't afford a good legal defence or doesn't have any sort of immunity.

the street-level, 20-buck bribes after you get pulled over.

It's all part of the same vicious circle and a cultural failing whether it's a policeman who pulls you over for a bribe or a political operator who sorts out a contract for a huge bribe.

Bureaucracy always spawns corruption

Not always. Germany, Finland, Canada all have a bureaucracy and very low levels of corruption.

just look at he EU.

Proves my point, since it (as a collection of organisations) is far less corrupt than its less developed member states.

badly mistreated by previous liberal government

Poland unfortunately has never had one of those. Hard to imagine that the policy for dealing with petty criminals would be tougher than now if we had one.

and słonina is rarely eaten in Poland

Big in Ukraine and Belarus.

I do know a Polish guy who's a farmer. He eats slonina sandwiches.

And what about that Cox woman, gunned down at a flower show or some such event in the North of England, right?

Jo Cox, was shot and stabbed in the street outside her constituency office in a small town in Yorkshire. An elderly passer-by, a retired mines rescuer was also badly hurt when he came to her aid. She was 41 and married with two young children.

This is important; making death threats is illegal, and there are cretins who get very agressive online; it's important they learn that words are not cheap.

it emerged completely the opposite...that prisoners have access to all info channels.

It depends where. Most only have access to TV if someone gets permission to have one in a shared cell. Otheriwse it's random radio stations piped into the cells from early morning to late at night.

Both had skeletons in their cupboards.

No skeletons at all...

the Amber Gold/OLT Express affair,

No 'affair' at all.

Basically looking for trivia to whine and wail about, in order to try (and fail) to smear two of the country's most respected public figures.

No independent thought

No independent or original thought, no direct experience of either person. Just crap they've googled and of course the need for and fear of enemies that some people can't live without.

i.e. a deceased mayor and Owsiak are/were not a good men,

Rubbish. One was among the most respected and liked Mayors in Poland, re-elected again and again by people who were happy for him to represent them as Mayor, the other is perhaps the most respected and liked fundraiser in Poland, who set up the country's a purity charity. Both of them squeaky clean and te best of Poland.

this thread is about

It's about the tragedy of one of Poland's most popular City Mayors (in English, President sounds just plain wrong for a city and the British terms, Lord Mayor and Lord Provost don't fit for Poland) murdered on live TV by a knife-wielding maniac, with a personal motive wrongly connected to the Mayor's political career.

So?

WOSP spent 13 k zloty on security for that event...13k !

Very cheap. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys. And they did.

they blame PIS f

I don't think WOŚP, Poland's most popular and respected charity, has blamed anyone yet.

Do you? More likely, you're trying (and failing) to damage the reputation of one of the most popular public figures in Poland, and his WOŚP charity which millions donate to and watch the finale of.

If you disapprove of people attending te hugely popular Przystanek Woodstock, what sort of large event would you prefer they attend?

the real reasons ppl distrust him.

Many people like him and trust him.

Problem is his "Złoty Melon" and his wife's "Mrówka Cała" financial reports arent transparent.

No problem at all.

przystanek Woodstock

Excellent. It's a good event.

why you guys were blabbing

There you go again.

Your comment/questionette doesn't actually make any sense at all,

now you say,he was independent.

Read the thread. Unless of course starting a pointless argument then losing it badly has just made you post an obtuse comment...

This is why ppl dont like Owsiak r

Plenty of "ppl", millions even, like him a lot.

Don't you find it strange that he wasn't even endorsed by his own party

No.

Maybe he was independent

Yes, he stood as an independent. Mayors often do in PL.

Mayor Adamowicz won several elections in Gdańsk, was very much liked by the residents, and was probably more popular than his party's brand. It happens in politics. Not least in Poland where politicians shift from party to party more often than you would be used to.

its sound like some mind control case

No it doesn't. It sounds very much like the normal experience of someone having an episode of that particular illness.

doesnt have to be at this very moment...its criticize of some moral choices moron

While Kaczinski emotes on stage about the Smolensk incident, homeless citizens of his country die on the streets. It's a representative democracy, and an elected politician can't do everything for everyone all at once. Nevertheless Mayor Adamowicz did far more than most. Hence his huge popularity and being re-elected several times.

BTW, it isn't "called metaphor"...

i though it is obvious to anyone with brain who is to blame..

Indeed. The murderer and anyone who influenced him. Nobody else is to blame, even though the Polish security guards were as useless as one might have expected them to be.

some say PIS is responsible for Paranoid schizophrenia

Some? Who?

Both nations are hypochondriacs

That's true. So many pharmacies in PL and so many of them have long queues. This whole attitude must put a huge strain on health provision. Organisations that supplement it, whether the ITV Telethon in the UK or WOŚP in Poland are very valuable here.

The responsibility for funding a nation's healthcare is a communal thing. In Poland, which has one of the lowest levels of community action and volunteering in Europe (try explaining the expression community-minded to Warsaw yuppies!), WOŚP is an absolute pearl, and deservedly Poland's best known and best loved charity.

All the defaulters are placed in two areas - Nowy Port and Orunia.

Similar in Warsaw. Most towns round the world with a significant level of social housing have a 'Dodge City'. In Warsaw it's a housing estate in Praga, just south of the railway line.

You are so hell bend to blame Owsiak and Adamowicz, the victim, that it'snot even funny

Quite. He's trying to blame two people who are entirely innocent.

there was a group of people with informal contacts (sort of insulation between the party and non-party members).

Plus all the 'allied' parties and various fellow travellers. Quite a few people have stayed under the radar that way. Even in the PRL, 3 million Poles were members, most of them ordinary people and 300,000 Poles were nomenklatura with immunity from normal arrest plus some other goodies, and usually very skilled at working the system.

I doubt that Wilmont came from that background, however some people are easily influenced.

It could be some shady contacts dead mayor had with mafia.

Don't be silly.

It should have been dealt with in the 1920s after the Narutowicz outrage,

It was dealt with in the late 40s and early 50s, however unfortunatately every generation seems to throw up its own crazies. Oddly enough, many of them grew up in party backgrounds, even nomenklatura.
