Let's get back to wine, because that is the title of this thread. While the absolute Mercedes of wines is Bordeaux, there is an opportunity to buy something that is no less attractive but cheaper. Let's say, the Alfa Romeo of wines. (Unfortunately I have never driven a real Alfa Romeo except for one test drive). This wine is in my opinion Chianti Classico....but only Classico. It is exclusive because there is much less of it than Bordeaux. It has its own unique taste (Just like Bordeaux). Alternatively, you can put it on the table for any occasion and it is often cheaper than Bordeaux. Of course, it can be stored in appropriate conditions for years. For example, yesterday I opened the 2010 vintage... it's brilliant.
