I have a problem with it. Parades are for people who need to say "hey look at me" they are for attention seekers who desperately need others to tell them its ok to be what ever they are. When the rest of us really dont gaf what they are in their own home. People in general just need to mind their own business and have a life. Pretty simple thing to do. Yet these attention seekers who need to find other attention seekers and those who need a cause to be involved with because they dont have lives will always find a way to irritate the rest of us. The funniest one in Poland is BLM, this just cracks me up. The EU though, is far too liberal, and PiS while pooping the bed in nearly every other way, keeps these "demonstrations" to a minimum.

You need a reading comprehension class. The "theme" is not just ideology being forced on people. The "theme" that should just go away in order to keep it from becoming a bigger political issue is the LGBT whatever free zones. Thats just Fing stupid. I dont know why anyone would support immigration from countries that are proven to be religiously fanatic and violent toward the core ideals and values of western society either. Immigration from western countries with similar values though should be more welcome. Having been to Germany many times in multiple cities, there is no way any Pole should support any immigration policy the way Germany has. The country is a dump.

I have to agree with you that the majority are not in favor of more immigration or gay rights. This is the biggest PiS platform strength now. Their financial platform is being laughed at by everyone. Independent polls, not government shills polling, show PiS is not the most popular among voters any longer. They were for a long time, but its over.

The young are not more conservative though. Hardly. They are much more progressive while remaining in favor of nationalistic movements. Young people, the vast majority are not in favor of anything PiS. The young are much more center than right wing. Most women are left wing, while smaller numbers of men are far right. There is a lot more common ground in the middle than on the extreme sides. The left wings would happily compromise on many things if you talk to people, and most of them really dont favor flamboyant gays running the streets. The far rights would compromise on leaving the gays alone as long as the immigration issue was settled their way.

While the media on both sides like to paint a grim picture politically, there are chances for real work to be done if people communicate and compromise at a table. Fanaticism never wins.

Poland was booming due to EU money. Period. Please tell me what we export from Poland? Please tell me the primary industry? Poland has next to zero without the EU money. Consumption does not stimulate job growth in sectors that actually make real impacts economically. Most consumption growth is in the service industry, as it has been in Poland in the past.

The new deal infrastructure and digitalization does not support the business sectors that need it most. You sir are grasping at straws and show you just march to the party drummer. The economy in Poland is a disaster. Cost of living is through the roof. Consumerism is down because inflation is up. People are saving money now because they learned the government has no help for them in an emergency situation. They learned the big money goes to big state owned business.

No more theory talk because the PiS theory for the last 6 years has been a financial disaster. Wealthy people are making a lot more money today and poor who PiS says they represent are being kept poor, but with just a little more bread and a few more potatoes to get through each month.

Stripping the cities of their tax revenues will see infrastructure and city funded projects stop very quickly. See how residents react if that happens.

I like when people talk theory when actual forensic accounting has already proven hundreds of millions in revenue will be missing from local government. It is even better when you said "may" spur economic growth. The United States just did a study of wealthy people during the pandemic and after all the tax cuts Trump gave out. Next to zero additional investment, and more hording of cash.

Wealthy people are in the business of creating wealth for themselves and their families. If some employees get moderately wealthy along the way its fine as long as it doesn't take from the top dogs. This is business, and this is what PiS doesn't understand. Tax cuts do not spur growth in real job creation and do not spur investment into new projects and expansion of business.

Even sleepy Joe knows he has to go after the ultra wealthy and he is half dead. JK should get on the same life support medication as sleepy Joe and it might help him get a clear mind.

The way the cities are set up in Poland for taxes, they will be the ones cutting programs and funding. They will not have the money coming in.

For me, I dont care. But this is not a solution for the country, this is another bad idea that has the potential to destroy infrastructure in cities that need the support the most.

My arguments are neither for or against taxes. My arguments are for developing programs, and financing those programs in a way that does not penalize on social economic group over another. May arguments are for smaller government and less red tape. My arguments are for helping the poor with more tax on the very wealthy, not on the middle class. The problem is that PiS is so incompetent that they cant devise a program hat gets paid for by the very wealthy without attacking the middle class too.

Now I give you that this will help some people get behind it. It wont pass because the money is missing from city tax revenues and this will not be paid for by the proposed taxes or cuts. Just do the math and get off the bandwagon.

Incorrect. The cities are killing it because it strips billions of tax revenue from the cities and it can not be replaced. Time for you to do some research my friend. The Polish deal is a disaster and economic killer. Middle class crushing proposal that they didnt even have vetted by real economists on how to pay for it without destroying cities. And now Discovery has been awarded a Dutch license and can continue to broadcast in Poland. Ways around the Polish law through the EU may just see more "press" entering the market before elections. This is exactly why PiS should have been smarter. Now anyone can enter the Polish market through another EU country, and there is nothing they can do. Controlling media, and the attempt could prove to be the final straw for PiS.

Clearly you have not walked the streets of Poland recently. The poor are not the ones having children now, it is the wealthy because they can afford to. 500+ does nothing for people who live in metro areas if they are poor. The cost of food now is crazy and 500+ does not account for the massive inflation PiS has caused.

But again, PiS might just want to observe the US pulling out of Afghanistan. Easily the USA left what became a situation that could not be solved. Those religious idealist will once again ruin a country and keep their people from attaining the lives they want. Extreme for sure, but no different than PiS at its core. I think this time, with the TV issue, the US will act. Biden is all about the free press, and the way PiS would not recognize him as President after the elections has not been forgotten. There will be payback.

Legal action will also be taken. Poland will get clobbered again. In the mean time new tariffs on Polish goods are likely.

I am a realist Iron. I don't sit and listen to idealists and those that follow like little cultists. PiS is simply a group of idiots who capitalized on another group of idiots transgressions. Timing was everything. The same could easily happen again, though with Tusk I don't see it being likely. Poland will likely continue to erode freedoms and sink back into a more communist like state. Allies will leave them in the long run if the course they are on continues.

This is an attempt at consolidating power through control of information. Just like Orlen buying news outlets. Money is being thrown about and the poor people who keep voting for these idiots don't even see how the rich and powerful are getting more rich and powerful off of the poor.

Someone made a great post comparing gas price under PO and PiS. That comparison included the cost of crude oil under both. Not sure where it is. PiS and their crew are nothing more than profiteers. They talk about social justice, about laws, orders, becoming more "Polish" and sovereign. Its all talk. All a distraction to the uneducated who keep them in power in order to get a little free cash. The Polish Deal will crush the middle class and it will wipe out cities tax revenues, but all that wont be talked about if they can control the news.

Actually, USA does not need most of Europe at all, and they don't need Poland. Need and want are two very different things. Wanting Poland for sake of keeping Russia on its toes is one thing, while finding a similar option in a different country that is less hostile to its biggest protector is another. What exactly does the US need Poland for? The gas idea is not really a threat, plenty of places to sell gas or store it as prices rise.

Poland is heading down an isolationist road. Just like Russia did and that has worked out so well for them.

Strongly favors two parties does not mean it is two parties. Sanders for instance is a independent, and I believe there is also a socialist in the government now. Not sure on that but while two parties are the norm in the US, it is not how it works. Regardless, people who dont vote usually dont get re-elected, and thats as it should be.

Sorry kid, not lost on anything. Remember I actually work and do business here. I am a right leaning centrist, and like some PiS policy. The problem is they are not intelligent thinkers and constantly poop where they eat. This little economic treaty they signed, with the USA filing a complaint, requires a 6 month cooling off period. If the USA presses the issue, Poland will be bent over like your GF on a Friday night with the football team.

You really do not have a grip on world politics. Poland's value to the USA is minimal. Germany, France, GB have real value to USA. Why? Because of industry, and deep financial ties. Poland is being lead down the path of not strengthening ties, not developing real industry and technology that the world will want.

The EU empire? The weak bonds and deepening divisions? This is no empire, it is a fragile experiment that is failing in many eyes. Imagine Poland getting tossed from the EU and the USA not having troops here. Imagine no more visa waiver to USA. Poland go back to being irrelevant.

While fighting for relevancy PiS has lost sight of doing the right things for the country, and the people in it. The new Polish Deal is a tax disaster, their own local governments are screaming about it. There is no way to replace the tax revenue that cities will see disappear. The middle class will be gutted financially, and the wealthy will simply carry on, or move the profitable business to more friendly countries like Slovakia. I already know someone who moved a very profitable company out of Poland to the Czech Rep because of this scheme, and they moved all key workers with it. So not only is the corporate tax gone from Poland, but all those other taxes just disappeared along with all the daily money being spent in the community.

What happens when the USA see's this business strategy of moving to different and more friendly countries? All those great call centers disappear. Think Amazon wont be influenced, or Intel, or any other number of large employers owned by US corporations. Yep, tell the USA to buggar off and Poland will be the one getting buggared.

But then there is this pesky little treaty about business dealings that Poland has signed with the USA that Discovery will now use to take legal action against Poland. Think this wont heat up quickly? PiS brought a dull kitchen knife to a gun fight.

In the USA if you don't vote, you don't get reelected in most cases. In Poland it is the cowards way of saying they are not strong enough to voice their own opinion and they are afraid of the bully in the room. Voting would be punching the bully in the mouth which is what needs to happen.

You really have no clue about the American economy. USA does not need Poland to buy gas. USA can easily rebuild strategic gas reserves without Poland, and cut gas prices at home in doing so. Poland needs discounted American gas and other items.

Get a grip on your NATO opinion. NATO doesn't exist without the USA. You have a distorted view of Europe and Poland. Anyone thinking Europe or Poland can stand alone against Russia needs to back away from the bong. And if Poland moves its military or reduces its commitment to Poland, Poland will become an easy target for Russian influence. The house of cards that is PiS would see the country in ruin. Poland can not stand on its own, and anyone not seeing this reality is either Ray Charles or PiS blind.

A man or woman who has an obligation to represent the people that put them in power who does not vote should be immediately removed from his or her position. They are obligated and they are cowards. This is how real people do business and real law is enforced. The are part of the "Law and Justice" group? That is injustice to those that support them and the cowards way out.

The US needs Poland for nothing. Nivea maybe, and thats about it. Poland buying what from USA? Tanks? Only because they are required to spend money on defense. Who else they going to buy from Canada? Ukraine maybe? You are blind to see Poland has no real economic impact on the USA. If USA moves troops to Romania, and stops or lowers investment is Poland, Poland is a target for takeover once again.

This is what JK wants though. A return to meat coupons, and socialist ways. Where everyone is equal, unless you have some power and influence and then you have the good life. Now in true PiS style, with Konfedracja not voting like the cowards they are, the bill passes in a late night session. Now TVN will probably sell the majority stake to another friendly EU country who will be even more critical of PiS. Along with the US potentially moving troops to Romania instead of Poland. This leadership will financially kill this country.
