And so Slovakia has decisively rejected rhetoric and populism. The likely new PM has made it clear that he intends to anchor Slovakia firmly within the EU, and it's a huge win for liberals against populists.

Duda continues to face opposition at almost every campaign stop, and he must be praying for the coronavirus to go away at this point. The Polish stock market was decimated this week too, and both Kidawa-Błońska and WKK have had strong conventions.

Even a German-sponsored "Silesian Autonomy Movement" has completely lost its momentum

That issue won't go away, especially given the large fiscal transfers from Silesia to poorer parts of Poland.

Torq, WKK is getting a lot of praise for his performance today. I haven't seen it - is it justified?

You're voting for Duda so that he can pack courts with PiS loyalists? That doesn't bode well for Konfederacja, given that Konfederacja are a risk to PiS. First Międlar will go down, the rest will follow.

Filled with news from Sputnik, no doubt. Such websites are of minimal influence in Poland, especially when compared to the major news portals. There's hundreds of these sites, and none of them enjoy any real popularity. Elections are won by hard work, not by people making fringe websites.

Still, it's such a pleasure to make the maximum donations allowable under Polish law to Platforma, knowing that PiS supporters will explode with rage when Duda loses.

If you think all this won't lose a lot of votes, then you are wrong.

Latest mess: Gryzelda seemingly gave a speech at a PiS internal meeting this weekend and ranted about herself rather than Duda. She was subjected to a "Andrzej Duda" chant as a result, so this doesn't bode well for his campaign.

Meanwhile, TVP are now aggressively trying to collect TV licence money. The right wingers have also made it clear that they don't support Duda, so it's one bad thing after another for him.

Latest polls carried out by ISPOS, who have the most accurate polls.

Duda 48% vs Kidawa-Błońska 46%
Duda 47% vs WKK 45%
Duda 47% vs Hołowina 45%
Duda 51% vs Biedroń 41%

It's clear that Duda doesn't have any considerable advantage. It might well be that this campaign will hinge not on him, but on PiS themselves.

Another day, more stupidity from Duda. This time, he was ranting about a local power plant providing jobs for locals. The problem is that the power plant in question closed two years ago.

I suspect part of his success five years ago was that he wasn't under such scrutiny. Now, every word is being analysed, and opposition candidates are hammering him within hours for these stupid mistakes.

And remember, it's not only Kidawa-Błońska he has to worry about. He's got several other candidates that are also hammering him, and at least one of them is capable of making inroads into unhappy rural communities where religion isn't such an important factor.

Tomorrow PiS will have to defend her anew.

This is the critical thing. The more that these stories dominate, the harder it is to actually promote Duda. The logical thing - get rid of her and replace her with someone more acceptable - is unthinkable for PiS.

They don't even have any tactics to win.

It's amazing how much you repeat the exact mantras repeated by PiS supporters online. The current tactics are working - Duda is falling in the polls, and he's going from one PR disaster to another. His latest stupid comments about inflation aren't helping those who see that he's travelling around in convoys while they're struggling with higher rents and food prices, especially younger voters.

Meanwhile, where's Bosak? It's almost like a fun meme at this point.

If you can't get more than 12% of the vote against a left-leaning candidate when you're the only other candidate, it means you're a joke and the voters know it.

He's not fearsome in the slightest. It always amazes me how nationalists think that a small amount of success makes them "fearsome", but then they cry because TVP ignores them.

She however added comical element

She's making a fool out of herself already, it's quite amazing.

I don't remenber Szydło doing anything like this in 2015, and you really have to wonder why Kaczyński is putting these incompetent fools in charge over a tried and tested campaign chief.

K.Bosak is very difficult debate partner because he is always well prepared

In the same way that you claimed he was educated, yet it turned out that he'd failed multiple degrees? He's an intellectual lightweight when compared to the other candidates.

Same level of competence and political judgement.

Yet her campaign is landing blow after blow with no real effective counter from PiS.

I read about another option - he will send it to PiS controlled Constitutional Tribunal where they will put it in the freezer.

Seems to be the most likely situation, but then again, he needs that money for his campaign.

Those Kantar polls don't look good for him - 40% in the first round won't be enough. It also occurred to me that both Hołowina and Kosianiak-Kamysz will hurt him in any debate, and Bosak's only chance of avoiding certain humiliation will be a strong debate performance where he'll need to attack Duda.

In all of this, you have to wonder what Banaś will do.

Not really. This is all about political orders over all, as witnessed by the fact that most places passing these resolutions are very poor by Polish standards. I'd be quite irritated if my local representatives were wasting time and money on nonsense like this.

This is exactly my point: Duda only had to beat Komorowski. Now he has to deal with Kidawa-Błońska hugging everyone, Kosiniak-Kamysz motivating the traditional PSL electorate and Biedroń/Bosak being heavily supported by young people.

If Kosiniak-Kamysz wins among the rural middle classes, Duda is in serious trouble.

I cannot make sense of what Duda is actually doing in this campaign. Now he's apparently been saying "yes, prices are going up, but it's only temporary".

Then there's the strange words of his chief of staff, which are being interpreted as being an attack on freedom of speech.

He begins to stand out in this election

If he can get through to farmers, then things will be very interesting...
