Life / Why Polish people should be proud of being Polish? [370]

aking under consideration the history of Poland - it is a quite hard task to find anything to be proud of.

successful nation doesn't need heroes, not for everyday though !
Poland was a great state for about 300 years, its more than entire history of US!

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [190]

Poland is only loyal when they get paid.

loyal to whom ? WTF? Do you know what are you talking about ?
**** you and your laws !

If Poland was opposed to communism after the German occupation they would have done the same thing in 1946 like they did in 1922. The fact is, the Polish people embraced communism in the 1940's. The Poles lived under Polish communism not Russian communism.

What?are you serious? You know that the WTC was an inside job ! You did it yourself and then blame somebody else!

eh!

Doesn't matter really. Wedel is is a traditional maker, they kept the recipes and people even during the commie regime, so we can rightly think of it as a Polish producer.

not really, they lost the traditional recipes when they sold it, some old employee walked with it.

OK, so Wedel is the one then

Not really - if you looking polish chocolate:

look for the logo

Well I don't like mr BMW but he got it in the nutshell - being proud of being (nationality) gives people sense of belonging, and sense of being a community.

I don't think that it is a bad thing.

Just look above, Mr. ironside, has nothing to say but comments "this topic is load of crap".

just press the report button Wendy !
As for the topic - you need to be precise what do you mean ?
Politics - there no friends in the political world!
Individuals - don't see why not - Poles and Americans are similar somewhat !
PF members - well, as much as you can get friendly on the Internet !

I have a strong feeling that some Poles believe that we owe them something.

No, its other way around - some of you thinks that Poles should be grateful to you ! Hilarious !
Maybe you are taking about visa-waver, Wendy?

What would be the proper term for citizens of the EU then? Eupeans?

Afterthought - you meant no sense after all, no sense at all.

In spite of different origins Americans are a homogeneous lot. "Europe on the other hand is not monolithic. Different countries, different language, different architecture, different cuisine, different medical system, different way of thinking, everything different.

Once again - bingo! bulls eye ! arriba tequila coyotes !

Maybe not but it ended hostilities sooner and all of Western Europe would have been under Stalin's boot had it not been for us. It's unlikely the British could have kept him away forever.

Well, OK ! Could you explain to me now - how your action in western Europe had been charitable, and not logical move driven by self-interest and self-preservation ?

bum

stop thinking about my bum! Its gross !yuck !!!!!!

What did we have to gain?

France and England.

?
just check, 6june 1944 front line of Soviet Army and then front line of Allies forces in Europe - your help against Germans wasn't really needed.

Try telling these b.astards that.

ungrateful bastr.s (helpful Ironside)or ungraceful

Everything we've done just has to have had some ulterior motive.

Sure not , your government is known for its charitable attitude and actions.

by the way, USA during WWII done for Poland exactly - null, zilch, nada, zero !

USA, Canada / Poles and Americans, what do you think, are we friends or enemies? [190]

I already posted that it's obvious that Poland and the US are friends, as for example both being NATO members etc but on this forum it shows that there are many differences between Poles and Americans (at least on PF) that lead to many fights.

there many differences between individuals from the same village - so what?>
Its up to individuals !

Travel / My visit to Poland - Likes & Dislikes. [137]

There are plenty of countries with attractive weather.

My point is that the two are very closely linked. If English wasn't spoken widely not nearly as many tourists would go there.

Not in EU, and not that close to sun hungry people,
Yes, I agree with point you made but I would put more emphasis on the fact that first English speaking tourists started going Spain and then people in Spain started to learn English which in turn prompted more tourists to go to Spain!

However, there must be some preconditions for a tourist industry to attract tourist, widespread knowledge of English is not enough on its on!

Could we all try to get back to the topic on Poland please?

E.g.The economies of Spain, Portugal for a start would have collapsed a long time ago if English wasn't as widely spoken as it is.

There is attractive weather for a start knowledge of languages is secondary to their tourist industry but still important.
