Life / Poles speaking English - examples [263]

PiS Ex Minister Of Education committed a Twitter post which was ridiculed by readers for mistakes. Fools!!!! Does everybody have to speak and write like Shaykspeer????

Przemysław Czarnek
@CzarnekP
Dear
@elonmusk
,

right after the Auschwitz visit, we invite you to on behalf of Free Poles to Radom and Ostrołęka prisons, where Polish members of parlament are hold in captive. This is the first time since 1989 that we have political prisoners in Poland.

Let the world hear how the new government coalition is breaking the law at every step just in one month after taking the power. There is an ongoing attack on the Polish media, courts and broadly understood freedom.

Life / What do Poles really think about cats? [470]

do not venture into political and ideological threads

Mission Impossible 5, darling. hahahaha
I admit this endurance of yours coz you have been saying it for 15 years and nothing has changed. Good! hahahaha

talk about cats.

I will talk about cats in cat threads and about politics in political threads coz I love order!!! I am a perfectionist when it comes to forum technical side!!! Ha!!!

Some qualities of character of our new cat

The ones I like :
- he`s very sociable with other cats and people.
- he doesn`t shun close contact like kissing or cuddling.
- he is a clean cat who uses litter boxes properly. When he relieves himself out of them, he does it in the bath tub which is easy to clean.

- he is fascinated with water when sb uses a shower or washes. Dripping water is also an attraction. I think of getting a small fountain for the cat to play with. :)_:):)

The ones I like less:

- he is a thief like our dear Greyfuss long ago. I can`t leave food on a plate without the cat getting interested in it.

- he also steals other objects. I lost a few wax-like ear plugs which I keep on the shelf above my bed - I think he devoured them. Crazy.

News / Not political prisoners but PiS criminal politicians, in fact [45]

two PiS criminals were doing their best to avoid arrest. They even got President Duda to hide them in his palace but when he left for a while, the police entered and arrested the convicts.

Polish police on Tuesday arrested two politicians convicted of abuse of power who had taken refuge for hours in the palace of President Andrzej Duda, in a dramatic escalation of a standoff between the new and previous governments.

Duda welcomed the members of the former ruling party into the presidential palace as police went to their homes to arrest them. Polish media reported the men were arrested inside the palace. Warsaw police gave no details, saying only that the arrest was "in accordance with the court order."

Nothing like killing a new thread with a wall of text.

OK, a shorter version for slow readers: :):):)

The pair were convicted of abuse of power for actions taken in 2007 when they served in an earlier Law and Justice-led government, and were sentenced in December to two years in prison. They insist they are innocent.

After Law and Justice won power in 2015, Mr Duda issued a pardon to Kaminski and Wasik after they were convicted of abuse of power but before their appeals had gone to a higher court, allowing them to take high government positions.

Many legal experts said presidential pardons are to be reserved for cases that have gone through all appeals.

In June, Poland's Supreme Court overturned the pardons and ordered a retrial which ended with another conviction. A court on Monday issued orders for police to arrest them and deliver them to prison.

News / Not political prisoners but PiS criminal politicians, in fact [45]

with a wall of text.

The story is long, indeed. But making it shorter was impossible. Besides, you know all of it so you realise you don`t need to read it again. I made it for people who aren`t as involved in Polish politics as you. :):) .

After the final sentence, two PiS criminals were doing their best to avoid arrest. They even got President Duda to hide them in his palace but when he left for a while, the police entered and arrested the convicts.

News / Not political prisoners but PiS criminal politicians, in fact [45]

PiS gangsters have been whining worldwide that two of their politicians have become "political prisoners" under the new pro-democratic gov.

It isn`t true coz they were convicted of their crimes last year when Tusk gov didn`t even exist.

I decided to start a seperate thread about them coz the case is growing every day and apart from old criminal acts, they will soon be charged with new ones.

Those PiS gangsters are really amaSSing!

The story of their old crimes from early 2000s were connected with the so called land scandal.

The land scandal was a provocation against the then deputy prime minister in Jarosław Kaczyński's government - Andrzej Lepper. As Konkret24 reminds, in the summer of 2007, the CBA carried out an operation in which two people in the Ministry of Agriculture headed by Lepper were given the so-called a controlled bribe for the de-agriculture of land in Masuria. However, the leak made it difficult to bring the matter to an end. According to the court, Kamiński planned and organized the CBA provocation, while there were no grounds to initiate a CBA operation in the Ministry of Agriculture. Kamiński's orders were carried out by his deputy Maciej Wąsik and two officers from the operational and investigative department - we read on Konkret24.

Both Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik were legally convicted by the Warsaw district court for failure to fulfill their duties and exceeding their powers. This concerns the period from December 14, 2006 to July 5, 2007 and activities related to the so-called land scandal. During this period, Mariusz Kamiński was the head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau, and Maciej Wąsik was his deputy. Two other members of the then CBA management were also sentenced together with them.

As the district court stated, Mariusz Kamiński "exceeded the powers granted to him and failed to fulfill his obligations" in that he "directed the commission of" a prohibited act by the CBA officers subordinated to him "despite the lack of legal grounds." The judgment says, among other things: about planning, organizing and implementing "the provocation using the CBA officers carrying out his orders" (including Maciej Wąsik - ed.). He states that he "ordered the initiation of land de-agriculture on the basis of forged documents." To make this credible - as the court states - "he ordered the forging of a number of documents from government and local government administration offices", which were mentioned in the judgment.

Language / Is it possible to master the Polish language fluently for a non-Polish speaker? [120]

A fluent English speaker with reduced intelligence would also be available.

If you mean Ironside, then it is a wrong example. His English isn`t fluent as he constantly takes advantage of various programmes which make his posts intelligible. Without them, he would write like kindergarten kid.

Besides, let`s`remind everybody that you escaped from Poland in early 1990s for your criminal dirty deeds and took shelter in North America for 30 years, until the responsibility for your crimes in Poland expired! We talked about it in the forum a few years ago. Should we bring it up again?

News / Time to clean the swamp - dePiSification of Poland [324]

Everybody knows it in Warsaw,

If everybody does, then it is a rumour aka lie. :):):)

Main PiS propagandists in state TV have had cosmic earnings in 2023.

I was talking about PiS professional propagandists aka journalists, speakers, presenters etc.

There was another group pf PiS controlled scumbags - "pundits" who were invited to TV studio by PIS propagandists to comment on current events. Each of those "experts" got 500 PLN for one commentary. Some managed to earn 300.000 per year. AmaSSing!!

Was it really so surprising that PiS TV swine occupied TV buildings after they were removed from the trough???? They fully realised they had lost a source of easy money at our expense.

Clean the swamp!!! Scrape all PiS gangsters off to the bone as we say in Polish!! hahahaha

Big money for TVP "experts" during the PiS government. That's how much they got for commenting

Since the change of power in Poland, further facts have come to light regarding high earnings in the public media, previously dominated by PiS. Before the end of 2023, KO MP Dariusz Joński revealed a letter which showed that state media propagandists were earning huge amounts of money. Thanks to this, we learned that, for example, the leading presenter of "Wiadomości", Michał Adamczyk, earned almost PLN 1.5 million from April to December last year.

It was similar in Polish Radio, where TVP "stars" - Michał Rachoń, Jan Pietrzak and Adrian Klarenbach - collected large sums for conducting guest programs or journalistic segments on the state-owned radio station. In turn, an associate of the former president of TVP, Jacek Kurski, was to earn PLN 3 million in three years , despite the lack of higher education.

Now new information has been revealed by Krzysztof Brejza. The MEP of the Civic Coalition published on social media the content of an e-mail he received from the Public Information Team of Polish Television. "On TVPiS, commenting 'publicists' received money for each statement. Some were on lump sum contracts! - he wrote on Twitter.

- And so, the record holder's contract in just one year in 2023 amounted to as much as PLN 300,000. A dozen or so people earned money in this system, the politician added. From the e-mail he shared, we can learn, among other things, that the cooperation was "based on one-off benefits" (a single benefit was valued at PLN 500) and "a wider range of contracts."

The email also mentioned the names of TVP "experts". These included: Jacek and Michał Karnowski, Miłosz Manasterski, Karol Gac, Adrian Stankowski, Jerzy Jachowicz, Elżbieta Królikowska-Avis, Anna Derewienko, Marian Kowalski and Jan Pietrzak. "An administrative decision will be issued regarding the detailed terms and conditions of civil law contracts concluded by the company with specific persons" - these are the words that conclude the message received by Brejza.

PiS paid "experts"

News / How strongly are Poles sure that president Duda defend Poland's interests ? [265]

Duda was included in Dirty Dozen list of most controversial politicians taking part in recent Economic Forum in Davos:

politico.eu/article/davos-world-economic-forum-javier-milei-mohammed-bin-salman-jared-kushner/

Autocrats, blowhards and bores: The 12 bad boys of the World Economic Forum shindig in the Swiss Alps.

But Duda is yesterday's man. As the last one standing from Poland's nationalist Law and Justice party that was swept out of office last year, Duda's holding on for dear life to his own relevance, doing his best to act as a spoiler against the Donald Tusk-led government by wielding his veto powers and harboring convicted lawmakers. All of which is to say: When you catch up with President Duda at Davos, don't assume he's speaking for Poland.

Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [1006]

It is a common trend among the youth, not only in Poland but worldwide, to consider the police as brutal oppressive force who prevents young people from freely doing what they want.

Not all young people are such, of course. When there is need, the police comes in handy even for youngsters.

Here is a story about a nice cooperation of high school students with the police.

Students of the Technical School Complex in Skarżysko-Kamienna witnessed a road collision. The BMW driver hit another parked vehicle. The teenagers took the driver's keys and prevented him from escaping.

The whole situation took place on Tuesday on Tysiąclecia Street. A driver reversing a BMW hit an Audi parked in the parking lot. The man's behavior indicated that he may be under the influence of alcohol.

- The whole situation was witnessed by two students of the popular "electrician`s school" who took the man's car keys and notified the police. Then they prevented the perpetrator from escaping from the scene. The officers tested the 34-year-old with a breathalyzer. He had 2.7 per mille in his body. Moreover, he did not have a driving license because he lost it for drunk driving - said the subcommand. Jarosław Gwóźdź from the District Police Headquarters in Skarżysko-Kamienna.

Chief of Skarżysko policemen, Inspector. On Friday, Tomasz Jarosz thanked the students of the technical school for their proper behavior and congratulated them on their attitude worth imitating. The commander emphasized that thanks to the determination and courage of the teenagers, perhaps no major accident occurred on the road. He also invited students to join the police, of course after finishing high school.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

Chopin Competition on Period Instruments listen to it coming back from work. two Russian pianists take part. assumed Chopin music should be above divisions and conflicts. commentary pianists is positive. decent Russians who don`t support Putin.

Decent Russians whose ranks are probably filled with another virtuoso pianist from Russia - Nikolay Khozyainov.
Yet, some Poles and Polesses feel offended by the fact. They forget that Russian pianists were allowed to take part in the Chopin Competition last year.

Russian pianist Nikolay Khozyainov will come to Warsaw to play a concert at the National Philharmonic. Listeners who want to hear the 32-year-old can buy tickets. The fact of the pianist's origins, as well as the date of this concert, outraged journalist Karolina Baca-Pogorzelska, who reports on the events of the war in Ukraine.

Nikolay Khozyainov, a 32-year-old Russian, called the "titan of the piano", will come to Warsaw to play his concert. He will perform at the National Philharmonic on February 22, 2024. Let us recall that on February 24, 2022, Vladimir Putin's Russia attacked Ukraine.

The pianist's nationality and the date coinciding with the anniversary of Putin's aggression against Ukraine outraged the well-known journalist Karolina Baca-Pogorzelska , who has been staying in Ukraine continuously since March 2022, from where she reports on Russian aggression.

The journalist published a post from the "bilety24.pl" advertisement with Khozyainov's photo on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote that for her, the organization of the Russian's concert was a scandal. She tagged the profile of the National Philharmonic and the Capital City of Warsaw and asked:

Incomprehensible to me. Don`t the Capital City of Warsaw and the National Philharmonic`s actions disturb you?

As for Lewica dumbing everything down and wanting to produce gullible

Not only the left are to blame. Rightists PiS also kept leftist agenda in education.

Meanwhile, Japanese kids spend on average 2 hours doing homework on a weekday and 3 hours on Sunday.

On the other extreme, Finland is the country where students have zero homework. Nevertheless, Finnish students lead the world in global scores for math and science.

they can just discard centuries of tradition

All experts, teachers and students agree that Polish school is as oppressive as it was in German Prussia over 150 years ago. Isn`t it high time to change old ways??? :):):)

I am pessimist and predict that leftist ideas which had been gradually adopted into Polish education before and promoted by rightist PIS will remain. I already told you about homework before. In case you forgot,

As I said: I didn`t expect much and it clearly shows I was right. The new Minister of Education who comes from a leftist party has just declared home assignments for primary school pupils will be completely abolished in grades 1-3 while in grades 4-8 they will remain but won`t be marked and only willing motivated pupils can do them. hahahaha Isn`t it funny??? I see those droves of willing students doing homework which isn`t obligatory. Teachers won`t be able to cope with those crowds in class. hahahahaha

This means that they started reforming the school system from the end instead of the beginning. No homework means teachers won`t be able to do the full curriculum which is extremely tight in grades 7-8 before the primary school leaving exam.

They also declare high schools will follow soon.

Sigh!
