Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

As a gift maybe it's nice to choose a vodka with flavour. Sobieski Cranberry is really nice, esp. if it's a gift for a woman.

Actually it for my friends Dad B-day hes from Poland.

Well its a pretty tight race between the Zubrowka and Wyborowa
The zubrowka I see in alot of the stores and its not that expensive. Thats why I was thinking about getting a bottle of Chopin or something thats harder to find?

Sobieski vodka seems to be a big seller over here.

Which Vodka would make the best gift?

I mostly drink Piwo but dont mind a occasional shot myself.
Ive tried Belvedere and Ultimat, both were very smooth the -ubrówka had a little kick to it:)

Kebab, Shoarma, Gyros, it nearly all tastes the same. The difference is mainly in the country where it's originating (Kebab = Turkey, Shoarma = Israel, Gyros = Greece

This greek restaurant has them, Ill get one once in awhile and youre right about the garlic they bring it on heavy.
I wouldnt advise eating one before a date, it tends to last a long time..lol

is actually a vampire and vampires are not that fond of garlic as you may know)

so I take it youre not a beach person:)

Also a Mexican variation with taco meat,

We have Mexican pizza here, not a big fan but I like the jalapenos on it

In Holland a while ago you had pizzas with shoarma (a kind of kebab) on it and instead of the usual tomato sauce, they had garlic sauce on it.

When you guys reffer to Kabobs is that like gyro meat?

I seen a gyro pizza it looked pretty funky with that tatazki (sp) sauce

Chicago is famous for the best pizza, Deep dish, Stuffed or Thin crust. There are plenty of pizzerias to choose from.

not one of them could hold a candle to Lou Malnati's

Lous probably has the best deep dish or Suparossa

Im a pizzaholic how about Mama Lunas thin crust??

Was it the ketchup or the corn that did it?

I dont know why they do it but Ive seen it many times..lol

I think it's cool you can do so many different things with the Pizza concept :)

In the United States I've eaten pizza at various chains Mr. Gatti's, Cici's, Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Little Caesar's, Pizza Inn and none of them come close to pizza's I've eaten

Why didnt you try an Italian pizzeria?
All those pizza chains suck everybody knows that, where did you go to Kentucky??

they have introduced a plethora of tasty options in the fast food service segment.

Its funny how everybody in Europe complains about McDonalds, KFC, etc

Yet there popping up all over the place,, somebody must like eating there????

What a silly comment. If people do not return when their visa expire it means either they cannot afford to return or they found better opportunities in the country they visited.

So its ok to Illegally stay in another country as long as you can find a better opportunity?

As for not being able to afford to return home, thats BS!

Yeah, theres millions more of them and they trash our neighborhoods.

If you go into a polish neighborhood you see them painting thier houses or planting a garden, they actually take care of thier stuff and appreciate being here.

My problem isnt with Poles coming here at all, Im was putting all Illegals into one catagory.

Keep the muslims out,

We have to do something about that before we wind up like England:(

people should be happy they don't have to have one now.

Now they want to have it? Yet before they all were on here complaining about it being implemented?

Sorry PP, I'm with sledz on this one. You want a deterrent, you make sure people tow the line or face the consequences. If it goes unpunished, they'll do it again and again

When they catch Illegal Mexicans they give them a bus ride back to Mexico.
2 weeks later theyre back in Chicago working.
There should be some punishment, like a little jail time before they get deported.
Maybe that would detour some of them?

Its just a show of support ,thats all:)

But for us to lift visa restrictions on a counrty with a long history of its citizens not returning home and living here Illegally is ridiculous.

The Poles should put the blame on there fellow other Poles that broke the law and ruined it for everybody else, but they dont seem to want to realize this?

Walmart maybe Ive been to two or three times, I dont like that store.

Florida? Its flat, hot as hell all year around

Summers are hot and rainy, the winters are perfect, mild and sunny. I like the sub tropical climate.

Yeah its flat so what? I like the Beach:)
And theres old people plus theres alot of young people to hang out with also

Have you been to Florida???? I bet you havent??

Nothing against Poland Im sure it is very beautiful and would love to spend a few weeks there for a vacation but I would never move away from the USA:)

Americans and Brits who go there to teach are just escaping

Some of them must have other reasons surely

Poland is nice to visit, but living there can really be a miserable experience.

Its sounds like its going to be deserted pretty soon from what I gather,
everybody is moving to the UK for jobs.

I wouldnt go to Poland to look for work either, maybe buy some property for retirement... Na, thats what we have Florida for:)

Poles have opportunities in England, but none in the USA.

Plus you need a visa which you will never get, but the British dont seem to need one?

Hmmm... I wonder why..lol

British teachers because of the obvious differences in the spoken language

and you have to make sure you dont get pants and trousers mixed up:)
