News / Is NORD STREAM dangerous for Poland's natural enviroment? [516]

I bet those two Ukrainians are pulling the strings now, yeah, that's for sure! *smirk*

How do I know? These are some very shady Russian-Ukrainian deals. My point is that Polish side should not automatically assume that this is Russia to blame. They signed contract with RosUkrEnergo and they might sue this company.

You all should remember that Tymoshenko way before orange revolution was named to be "Gas princess". She made a fortune at that time, she know something about this business. I think, I don't need to add that she needed to be involved in such shady deals as well.

No, this euro-socialist mouthpiece. This article is much more objective.

It is clear that Nord Stream would be catastrophe for natural enviroment and for Polish safty.

What a nonsense. :) It is absolutely possible to build it without causing any catastrophes. Of course this is good tactic to maybe even stop this project. However we are not politicians, so we should be more honest.

Lukasz, all you can do is just whining about bad Russia and bad Germany without any objectivity. You really should consider joining PiS.

You're right we dont use gas, we're cooking our meals by burning our socks, of course Poland uses lots of gas!

If you would be interested in this subject then you would know that Poland's usage of gas is small in comparison with western European states or Ukraine. Ukraine heating system is based on gas, Polish in opposition to your claims is based on coal (even in Gdansk!). This is cheaper solution.

Private companies of chemical industry in Poland are not interested to buy much more expensive gas from Norway. Polish state should not subsidy them and according regulations of the EU such subsidies are forbidden. These are facts and time for home-grown geopolitical strategist to accept reality.

Gazprom own 50% of RosUkrEnergo, the rest is owned by Naftogas Ukraine. While the author blame just Gazprom, RP is a mouthpiece of PiS. Gazprom don't own or control Ukrainian pipeline system. Gazprom might claim that they already send this gas, while we signed contract with RosUkrEnergo. We, still don't know who is to blame.

OK, it lacks the desirable features but it is beautifully situated and is not far from Azerbaijan.

Only Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan would be interesting. Even Americans cannot deal with them. These states have too much in common with Russia and you cannot change it.

You overestimate Russian resources, costly and coming from an unstable supplier.

Russian resources are well documented and the cheapest on the market.

No longer, you ought to read the press its officiall that we're getting at least two nuclear plants,

Please... They were talking the same 15 years ago, 10 years ago and 5 years ago. They are liars.

Germany is going to become a place of redistribution and from there Russia will work to make us totally dependent on its resources

Poland doesn't use so much of oil or gas to be worried. We should not change this and finally start to use own resources. This is necessary to stop babbling about global warming and don't reduce involvement of coal. Nuclear and geothermal energy and working on technology of gasification of coal underground, these are our task. Absolutely nothing was done in this direction.

Its still cheaper but its getting more and more expensive quickly gaining on market prices, its a question of few short years.

This is only your speculation, Russia have interest to be the cheapest on the market.

Georgia has nothing but sand? Eh, air bases?????

This is issue of NATO not energetics.

Mountains, temperate rainforest, vineyards, palm trees, glaciers, ancient buildings and stuff. Geologically it's quite a varied place.

So, perhaps they will attract some tourists if this region become more stable. Oil and gas is missing and this would be our interest in this state.

You overestimate Norwegian resources, costly resources.

You cannot blame Germany that Poland don't use its own resources or blocking nuclear plants.

Georgia have nothing but sand.

Russian resources are no longer cheap and the price is growing and sources such as Norway are safer, there's no guarantee ever.

If Russian oil would not be cheap then Orlen and Lotos would be more active in searching other suppliers.

News / Dalai Lama says: "POLAND HAS RETAINED ITS SPIRIT" [77]

It is better to be badly (possibly) ruled by your own people than badly ruled by a foreign occupation.

How much would you willing to sacrifice to change bad foreign occupation to possibly even worse domestic regime? Your fortune, your life, fate of your family? What type of sacrifice would you recommend to people in Tibet?

News / Dalai Lama says: "POLAND HAS RETAINED ITS SPIRIT" [77]

It is unfortunate about Tibet having been almost completely lost to China.

Of course China should become much more liberal. But if you consider that the only loud alternative is Buddhist theocratic regime and Dalai Lama who said in Gdansk that he is an economical communist/Marxist then one could doubt whether this is better option!

he doesn't. that's kind of low and disrespectful of the op to even suggest that.

Why? Dalai Lama is also a politician. I doubt whether he know about the spirit of Polish people during communist era and today's. Every American president coming to Poland babbling something about communism and the role of the Polish people fighting this system.

Language / IS "MURZYN" word RACIST? [686]

Lets ban murzynek cake as well.

I've heard that African immigrants (mainly African students :) ) want themselves to be called CZARNOSKÓRZY (lit. black-skinned). But for me it's artificial.

They should call us białoskórzy (white-skinned) following this logic.

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

I doubt you actually "hate" them. Hate is a very strong emotion and I seriously doubt you feel that at all for Poland or for Polish people. Hate is reserved for dictators and murderers and rapists (for example).

This feeling is not unknown for ordinary people. Just duo to many reasons they somehow manage abandon physical actions.

You may dislike Polish people and you may even dislike an entire nation but perhaps you'd like to provide an in depth reasoning as to why? Never mind saying they are toilet cleaners or any of that other nonsense you come out with. If you have a legitimate dislike of all things Polish then please explain it fully, without swearing, without silly pictures and without blaming them for all that is wrong with this country (actually it's the government that's wrong with this country and not the people living here).

Do you really want to know what he really think? Better to ignore such people, he is on my list of "people to debate" somewhere between Robert Mugabe and Britney Spears.

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

Can u give me an example that we r right if u know so much about Turkey and Turkish culture and Turkish people, really ı m open to new ideas, please inform me ı wonder alot what u meaned:)

Till now I just asked questions, I don't follow Turkish politics, so I cannot give you any examples. However I know that euro-bureaucrats are rarely right, so I find this hard to understand that the Turks can be even more ignorant. At best I can tell you that even if Turkish politicians are indeed so pathetic as you claim there is third option when both sides may be wrong. If this is true, still there is no sense to copy nonessential ideas but rather search for effective solutions.

What I find interesting in your post is the fact that you mentioned Turkish culture. We in Poland rather don't have some clear views on Turkish people. Perhaps you will be able to explain to us a bit about Turkey. May I ask you what is your problem with Turkish culture?

nope

Fair enough if so. I just don't like self-proclaimed democrats who cannot accept the results of democratic voting.

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

'' EU says us change this code for this reason to adapt this''

The EU say this, the EU says that. Do you ever considered such possibility that on some subjects Turkish government may be right and European Union wrong?

Many desire a more religious-conservative goverment.

Are you a democrat?

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

Regarding those people that looked decent and hate Polish... you probably found some guys on sport suits who don't like anybody apart from them :)

I have read that Polish, Czech and Slovak nationalists are good buddies.

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

Ukrainians as to the polls consider us their the best friends ... this case is much more complicated ... ;-) (I don't trust them ;-) )

The Czechs are more mature nation I would say. Ukrainian society seems to be so naive and their "liking" might disappear quickly because of some trivial issue. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Liechtenstein loves us.

Then they should invade us, I will be the first to wave white flag :)

Life / Polish and Czechs [191]

Lets not create artificial problems, we don't have any problems with Czechs and otherwise. According some old Czech poll I have seen Poles were their second best neighbors right after Slovaks.

Leichtenstein too.

I dream about Liechtenstein someday invade us and forcibly incorporate to their duty. This nightmare would be over. :)

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

I simply want equality and decent treatment of all people regardless of race.

Color of skin is not a problem for vast majority of those who are very wary about immigration issue. We are worried about cultural differences that for many such immigrants could be very difficult in process of assimilation. In fact I personally would not be happy seeing large white immigration from some EU member countries that I consider culturally too different. The problem that multi-culturalism sucks is not directly linked with race.

Just today I've seen a post here titled "Jews are a problem" or something like that. Do you think that any other Poles objected to that? No. They think it's OK, just "debating", that's all.

Jewish love towards Poles

Did u know that Poles name a cake 'mużyn'? That could be interpreted as being racist in a petty way.

It is ''murzynek" (diminution)

Of course this have nothing to do with racism, knights of PC will always try to spin everything.

What about these Tatars? I've lived here for over 3 years but u never hear of them. They get no media coverage or have much influence on anything by the seems of it

Apparently Polish Tatars are honest and decent people. If you want media coverage, you need to be either absolutely dishonest (politicians), freak or deviant.
