Food / Poles have a more loving attitude to food than here in the UK [169]

What are "commons"?

Amasing you don`t know your English Sprache! :):):)

(functioning as plural) people not of noble birth viewed as forming a political order
(functioning as plural) the lower classes as contrasted to the ruling classes of society; the commonalty
.

Google is your friend

Sorry, I don`t have time to google for things I am not interested in. It is your job in the Polish forum to explain foreign contexts, not mine. :):):)

Food / Polish Pizza !! The best in the world? [330]

Ketchup on pizza is a no go

We live in crazy times so unorthodox solutions have to be exploited. :):):)

A disgusting idea

Exactly!!!! Like most of British cuisine! hahahaha

So there are no cabs in Poland then?

Most of them are taken by British commons coming to Poland for weekend drinking parties so intelligent cultural Poles and Polesses use horse transport instead. Ha!!!

Joe Baxis

This is lost on me. I am not a native even though johhny claims otherwise. Try to apply Polish contexts in the Polish forum, please, so that you can impress us with your knowledge of Polish culture. :):):)

The person next to you could have taken them

Nobody knows how to handle my personalised customised camera! Ha!!!

you could have got a cab home.

You mean a taxi. Come on, this vulgar means of transport is for British commons who come to Poland on drinking weekends. Intelligent Poles go by horse cabs! Ha!!!

apply some logic.

Stop parroting me, invent something new and original, are you native for nought??? :):):)

a ballet dancer.

This thread is about food, not ballet dancing. Apply more logic. :):):)

Life / Neoliberalism and family formation in Poland [100]

we are doomed.

Nope, we would be if PiS bolsheviks kept power together with far right nazio boys from Konfederacja. They lost and Poland has become a free country again. Goddess bless Poland!!!!

you sick sick ape.

Stop stuttering, I am not so terrifying after all. hahaha

you

Firstly, I never drink at non-home events coz I always drive.
Secondly, how can it be me if I was the one taking the photos???
Jon, try to apply more logic in your posts, please. :):):):)

stop stuffing himself.

I never stuff myself coz I have a small stomache - I eat small quantities of food but often due to my quick digestion.

Life / Neoliberalism and family formation in Poland [100]

try to attribute them to all women and onto society

Lenka and Paulina are typical Polish educated, intelligent, decent women who are ready to fight for their rights against fake macho male chauvinist azholes who still can`t stop dreaming of controlling women like they did in the past.

Thanks to such decent women, PiS bolsheviks lost the recent elections. They saved Poland, sort of.
I bow deeply to all Polish women who are like Lenka and Paulina.

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [692]

Driving in the countryside in winter time. Even backward roads are cleared off snow but if the snowfall is sudden and heavy, main roads attract the attention of the services and side ones have to wait.

The second photo shows how the wind blows snow onto the already cleared road from the field again.

Food / Healthy polish food? [143]

Healthy Polish food?

Sprouts is my first answer!

Last year I grew two dozen big sunflowers. Collected the seeds and have been using them as delicious variety to my daily veg supply.

Seeds need about 10 days to achieve such an eatable size as sprouts. I do the process of sprouting in simple jars - easiest of all.

Going #2 is a lot more fun

To each their own. :):):) Now I know why some posters here comment on you as c.......... - due to Easter time, I will keep silent on it but you know what I mean. :):):)

The finale of the party above was celebrated with the most traditional Polish food - my delicacy too - hot red borsch with a French addition of a crispy meat croquette.

Pawian, why do you photograph food all the time??

Because I am obsessed with eating delicious things aka my comfort food as it dissipates my depressive moods. Its colours and arrangement influence me very positively and that is why I have held for so many decades in a good shape without taking any meds. hahahaha buhahahaha

You don't just do it at events but at home too.

Also outside.
In fact, I take photos of any food I see anywhere. Such a hobby. Other males in my age relish in fornication as a hobby and chase younger females while I do the gardening and take photos of food. hahahaha

Only poor people think of food all the time

Well, compared to a British king, I am poor, indeed. hahahaha

they never count calories.

Exactly. It isn`t my problem whatsoever. :):):)

I don't eat .

Good. You don`t eat, so you must drink a lot. Here is sth you will enjoy:
Unfortunately, to cut down on costs, the organisers ordered cheaper Swedish or Finnish vodka instead of true Polish stuff. Plus some cheap Italian wine. No beer this time.

No they haven't.

Prove it! Show us photos you took at a contemporary event attended by commons so that we can compare Polish and British attitudes. :):):)

Of course, your dishes will vary from ours.

Here are some Polish fave dishes. Chicken soup is a must. As well as some fried piece of meat.

remind me of 1970s

Exactly. :)::):) Poland keeps up the old traditions which have been long forgotten in Western Europe. :):):)
Assorted cold cuts and cheeses - both my fave snacks between hot meals. And a plate of fruit for second dessert.

Life / A detailed description of the Easter tradition in Poland [41]

Eggs are a must at Easter time, especially in Poland where egg chunks are used at Sunday breakfast to share with relatives as a symbol of love, forgiveness, reconciliation and good fortune.

we have more choice

Of course, aristocratic elites or royals do. But I meant common people. In Britain commons are happy when they can gobble down fish and chips. Ha!!!

While in Poland.....

Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [1006]

Polish women in general are far better educated than American women

Of course. Here is a photo showing a hand out with a map of Americas for a test in primary school - Polish students have to know all major ranges, lakes, rivers, flatlands and uplands.

Show us a primary school in US where Am students learn about the landform features of Europe. :):):)

Brits don't really have the same kind of passion

Of course. Polesses and Poles love consuming good food, both Polish and foreign.

Here is a series of photos from a certain official event. Brits don`t have such a choice.

Life / The climate for gardening in Poland [340]

The most natural storeroom for veg in winter time is the ground!

Here, leeks dug out from the ground according to needs. Leek doesn`t need any covering, endures extreme temps - completely frost resistant.
However, digging it out is possible only when the ground isn`t frozen.

Other veg require covering. E.g, black radish. I lost one crop a few years ago due to heavy frost.

Food / Polish Pizza !! The best in the world? [330]

Polish pizza is soooooooooooo the best pizza in the world, the ones from glogow are the best ever !!!
I agree.

Of course. My wife makes excellent pizza which suits the tastes of all the family, especially kids. Everybody likes ketchup made in Poland by Pudliszki company so she uses it instead of tomato sauce which is too bland. Everybody likes champignons, ham and pineapple so she uses all of them. Saturday is always a Polish Hawaian pizza day for us. :):):)
