Language / POLISH INSULTS....know any good ones...? [15]

Ty ropucho bagienny!

A good insult is not just the well known 'kurwa mać', but 'kurwa twój mać, jebana w każdym dziurze nawet w ucho'. I heard a taxi driver say it not long ago.

Life / Smoking vs. Grilling on Balconies / High Rises in Poland [66]

No mediation was possible?

At least a dozen neighbours with nearby bedrooms had spoken to her. She just became more insistent that she wouldn't get rid of them. A bit of a nutter - she used to keep old furniture in the corridor and leave religious pamphlets everywhere.

I grilled on my balcony with gas. As long as you don't grill the stuff that's been marinated in tomato based sauces, it's ok.

A friend has a kind of bendy chimney that she connects to her cooker hood - a good idea.

Smells just like someone leaving their window open when cooking

Yes. I grill on the terrace from time to time, but usually wait until people on the ground floor with gardens do it - a bit less noticeable and OK if there isn't too much smoke.

And on balconies if you live in a block of flats - that's desperate and not really thoughtful.

Yes. Another bad one is plastic carrier bags tied to the balcony (usually by the elderly) to deter pigeons. Enough to keep a neighbour awake on a windy night.

In one flat I had in Warsaw my neigbour had metal scaffolding pipes on her balcony for whatever arcane reason. It was on the 9th floor and when the wind blew through them it was like trying to sleep next to a cathedral organ. She was stone deaf so didn't care.

A grill now and again is small beer compared to that every night.

Travel / Why does everyone seem to hate LOT Polish Airlines? [382]

My baby cried for 3 hours constantly during the beginning of the flight

Couldn't you stick a dummy in its mouth so as not to disturb other passengers? Or give it a breast? That's what they're for!

He said:" GET OUT OF HERE. (3) GO AWAY, YOU ARE CRAZY LADY

The tone of your post suggests he may have been right. LOT aren't perfect, but they're OK.

Love / Connecting with GAY MEN IN POLAND [56]

Seems I am getting my answer, although indirectly. Obliged.

You can see which section of the forum we're in - so why ask?

Love / Connecting with GAY MEN IN POLAND [56]

I don't visit other countries to chat about my love life.

Is that a reason that others shouldn't? A couple of million straight men in one city, a couple of million gay men in one continent.

Seems I am getting my answer, although indirectly

To a pointless and prurient question.

do not comprehend?

Do not comprehend or perhaps enjoy talking about with their peer group? Anyway, what makes you think that gay people don't converse with their straight friends?

Or if you're somehow leading the discussion to sex, which indeed you have mentioned, perhaps you'd like to tell us how often you chat about your love life to a bunch of elderly married couples? After all, they may well be your friends, so why not? And why shouldn't a gay man prefer to shoot the breeze with another gay men? Why are you questioning who the OP would like to get to know?

Either you're being disingenuous or just stupid. From your previous form, probably both.

Love / Connecting with GAY MEN IN POLAND [56]

I would like to know if there are any online forums where I can be in touch with fckable women in the UK.

Plenty - who'd need to ask? Ads for such things pop up whether you want them to or not - some of us select those we want to date from a smaller pool.

Either it is just about sex,

Or perhaps love.

gays are really somehow different from the straights

And football fans might want to chat about different topics to golfers. Of course they can talk about football with them, but don't you think it would be a bit tiring having to continuously explain the offside rule?

Why do you think they aren't or assume he doesn't have straight friends already? After all, heterosexuals aren't exactly a rarity

read:

be in touch with other gay men in Poland.

and the thread title. If he wants to meet the vast majority who aren't gay, he wouldn't need to specify that.

any online forum

Try fellow.pl if you speak Polish, or gayromeo if you don't. Not really forums but plenty of chat.

Love / Are Polish mothers-in-law monsters? [91]

I remember Monika Richardson being interviewed in a magazine, maybe Pani Domu or suchlike, saying that one good thing about being married to an Englishman was that his mother doesn't constantly try to break up the marriage which seems to happen in Poland.

Life / Boys acting and dressing feminine, girls acting and dressing masculine - transgender teens in Poland [272]

t Gay/lesbian or bisexual and we do not want any comments on what posters personal opinion is of, the afore mentioned ( good or bad).[/quote]
Maybe change the thread title to 'cross-dressing' rather than transgender. That has a specific and complicated meaning about gender identity, not that transgender people can agree what that meaning is without arguments that make some of the ones on here look like a WI coffee morning...

For what it's worth, young 'alternative' clubbers and their fashions have long been influenced by people who blur gender boundaries, and the genderqueer and genderfuck people in particular are interesting to the music business and the videos that end up on MTV because of the visual appeal of some of their clothes and their visual impact when in a video.

Le Madame in Warsaw used to cross certain style boundaries. Not at all a gay bar, but a place to see alternative fashions by some of the trendiest of the Warsaw jeunesse doree. I think that crowd go somewhere across the river now.

There is an increase in transgender teens in Poland.

Wow - I'd love to see a statistic on that. I know there have been a few gender realignments of the very young in other countries, but I didn't know about Poland. Interesting that Polish doctors are getting involved.

I enjoy seeing people being free in wearing whatever they like

Transgender is an identity; about who you are, your endocrinology and how you identify, rather than just what you wear. Androgynous fashion and cross dressing are a different thing.

Though cross dressing, the very start of the transgender continuum, seems quite a big thing in Warsaw - however more a going out at weekends thing than a huge life decision.
