Life / Smoking vs. Grilling on Balconies / High Rises in Poland [66]

grills are largely allowed on American balconies

which America?
it's not allowed, and it's written in a lease agreement you have to sign...

if you own a house, you can even grill in your living room...

I believe you would look pretty silly i

yep...

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

You should write about your experiences and your travels in a blog/memoir/book/even on here.

I dare say a few would be interested in reading about them.

i was going to ask guzzler about that... :)

Life / A detailed description of the Easter tradition in Poland [41]

if someone is wondering: Explaining the Easter Bunny

The modern version of the Easter Bunny (cute and cuddly) was heavily influenced by German traditions dating back to the 1500s. According to Mental Floss, "The Germans converted the pagan rabbit image into Oschter Haws, a rabbit that was believed to lay a nest of colored eggs as gifts for good children."

Eventually, chocolate became just as popular a gift as pastel-colored eggs. And, if you ask us, a lot tastier.

Food / Bratwurst in Kraków? [15]

If they are in the shops, are they called a different name here?

Poles call it "kiełbasa" not "sausage"...

Life / What gifts to take? Presents customs in Poland. [173]

just go to the local store where they sell all kinds of stuff with your city or state logo... it's all for tourists... (it's usually located in a mall, well, it is where i live)....

like glass shots, coffee mugs, mouse pads, pens, key holders etc... that should do the trick...

Life / Racism in Poland - the future [558]

But is there even 1% of blacks in Poland??? Most Poles have never even seen one in their life and probably never will.

that's your answer... Poles are not used to any other colored person... it's pretty sad but i want to believe that the new generation will be different... better (in some way)....
