History / Where did the power of Poland vanish to, since... let`s say, some 300 years ago? [180]

It seams that power of Polish state began to drop rapidly since the Battle of Vienna in 1683 (not exactly since that year but approximately around that period). This is how i got impression looking at historical events and chronology.

So, what could be main reasons for weakening of Polish state? What are those direct losses that led to weakening of Poland and, what is even more important, what are those interests that forced Poland to loses its sharpness and power? On the end, what was situation with factors within the Polish state that eventually contributed to the weakening of Poland?

when i looking back in history i see that balance inside of Slavic world disappeared with Turkish invasion on Europe and occupation of Balkan. After that power of Poland began to drop and Islamo-Germany penetration deeper into Slavic world forced Russia to enter in `strange` schemes with hostile non-Slavic Germany.

Time has changed. Slavic Balkan isn`t under Turkish occupation anymore and no matter all odds, pro-Polish element (Serbia/Serb. Rep. within Bosnia) on Balkan strengthen.

In new situation, Russia is forced to reconfigure its approach to Slavic world in general. Both- Russia and Poland sees their clear interests in strengthening of Slavic Balkan. On the other side, Slavic Balkan (Serbians) has its specific interests that tend to restore old wealth flow on the Balkan-Baltic line, where are Warsaw and Belgrade in the middle of it.

It is also of significant importance how Vatican analyze development. In my opinion, Vatican must conclude that Poland represent more reliable `defender` of specific Vatican`s interests in the region (on Balkan/Balkan-Baltic line in general) then it is traditional major Vatican`s player- Germany. Once when Vatican switch its `total` support from Germany to Poland, we would have Catholic-Orthodox compromise on Balkan and in entire Europe. Ultimately, we would have reunion of Christianity. This situation would greatly stimulate increased safety and progress of Slavic world in general.

are we all witnesses of new times, of new winds in Europe?

Its maybe time for Poland and Russia to reconcile their relations. Judging by the complete political environment, speaking of mega trends or about untold (and told) signs, if tries to interfere into the Silesian situation, Germany may found itself on the `tin ice`. Whenever Germany tried to endanger Poland in past, Germany played on the inter-Slavic divisions and regularly played dirty schemes with Russia. But, now is different. Not only that Russia won`t support German actions against Poland but, most probably, Russia may act unexpectedly violent in favor of Poland`s sovereignty.

i don`t know for other people here but, for me this development is obvious.

people, say what you want but Poland is far more serious state then USA or Canada. Only idiot isn`t aware of it

do you people understand? did new day opened your eyes or you still deluding yourself?

in comparison to USA or Canada, Poland looks like super serious state. With it, question- `Better life in USA or Canada?` obviously becoming absolutely obsolete. Poles should thank to God for they are born as Poles and Slavs. Those Poles who were born as citizens of Poland are of especial luck.

i think so: yummy

when i travel i don`t like to lunch at hotel or have diner there. i likes to eat in local restaurants. Only breakfast is always good at hotel.

you know what would i do? i would take taxi, choose some section of the city for that day/evening and then, i would walk in search for good places there

Is there some Polish patriotic place, traditional restaurant or anything, some place that could be worth to be seen and in the same time eat and drink there?

Trustworthy as reality of war. There were cases. If somebody rape any woman during the any war, he must be punished. We Serbs don`t like those things. But, let`s not exaggerate. Serbs were victims of that war not perpetrators. EU, NATO and Islamic league wanted war

who are we to judge? Imagine that you say to me how some man raped some woman and in respond i say: `she maybe enjoyed`. Also, females are sometimes sophisticated psychological `soft` killers. Its often underestimated, while rape by man getting all possible attention of society.

Now I met a few Romanians in the UK, and I was amazed how Polish they were.

when you mentioned. Did you ever contemplate, what could connects Poles with Romanians or to be more precise, Poles with the ancestors of modern day Romanians? Dacians. Dacians were Sarmatians. Just, Poles live in linguistic and cultural continuity with their Sarmatian ancestors, while Sarmats of modern day Romania, after the defeat, onslaught and genocide by Romans, deflected from their heritage (those who survived) and were forced to mix with foreigners who were settled in Dacia by Roman occupator.
