Sweet chestnuts! Why was I so surprised seeing the fruit? I had always believed the tree had to be very big to give fruit. While ours is only 8 years old.

Each year offers me some surprises and there is always the first time when I see some new fruit on trees which I planted long ago.

This year I eventually was lucky to see first:
apricot
mullberry
paper apple
seaberry

I am slowly running of old trees to give fruit at last. That is why I have already planted a dozen new ones this year. Amasing.

No more. I work so hard that I burn a lot of calories daily. I eat a lot and burn a lot. And I don`t mean physical work only.

Come on, you are used to German style of treating guests at home which is scanty as we all know.

A novelty - one tank bore an inscription on its barrel to honour the soldier stabbed to death by a migrant at the border:
Another novelty - weapons that Poland has ordered just recently were driven by foreign crews. Hence, Abrams tanks were carrying big US flags and had desert camouflage.

I was so proud of those hills. And what happened? First, I had to weed to patch coz I couldn`t see my plants. It turned out that only 1/3 seeds worked. Then, one morning, I noticed with horror that most of the new plants were meticulously nibbled at by hares. They kept growing but are still too little to grow a nice root. And now I see I have to weed it again. Kurwa mać! czasem mam dośc.

I already purchased barbed wire and am going to use it around some valuable patches. Hares will get a surprise. They should thank Goddess we don`t live in the US - coz their skins would already be drying in the sun on sticks around my fields as a deterrent. hahahaha

Let me remind you there is still an unanswered riddle in 535.

Every year I promise myself I won`t be bothered with manual weeding and will use glifosat chemical next year. However, I still find time to weed large areas of veg beds. How long?

Check the photos - kohlrabi and onion patch - the dense greenery means unweeded area. And there are dozens of such patches to be controlled. It is madness. I got some disorder with the tendon of one of my right forearm muscles. I already had it last year and thought it was caused by my old lawn mower. But it wasn`t - I changed the mower and the problem reappeared this year.

I am afraid weed chemicals will be unavoidable in a few years` time.

Catholic confirmation isn`t such a spectacular event like the first holy communion. That is why families who experience it don`t go to such pains in preparing amasing dishes for guests.

Those ears suggest a feline family coz they resembles lynxes.

They make excellent stew in the crock pot.

It seems Americans eat everything that walks, jumps or flies. Like the CHinese. :):):)

I bet not many people do that anymore.

People did it in the past when such cheese was hard to get in shops or it was awful so people prefered to make their own one. I remember one occassion in 1970s - our mum made such cheese and it was very easy - put sour milk in a cloth and hang it over a container to collect the dripping whey. I wonder if she was so needy for cheese or she tried to make an experiment with the milk we got from our family in the countryside.

I didn't even know there were black squirrels

Yes, it is a melanistic variety of our red squirrel. Extremely rare. The one above was the second see in my life.

We have tons

Your blacks are a subgroup of grey squirrels while mine of red ones.

Black squirrels are a rarity in Poland. This one succumbed to the temptation of nuts, fava beans and sunflower seeds which I stored outside.
