Life / Are there street gangs in Poland like in USA? [18]

kondzior: some serious fights between fans of music bands Republika and Lady Pank.

Really..i have never heard of people having a punch up over musical differences...its a new one on me...I thought it was just football...

Mind you..we had the Mods and Rockers going at it in the UK some years ago...but that was more about lifestyle , not just music...oh..and the fact us Rockers rode proper mens machines..and not girlie hair dryers...

Life / Ferrari dealership in Warsaw [8]

Back in the days when i was a racing driver , i was asked to drive a clasic Ferrari around Silverstone circuit as part of a demonstration of supercars...It wasn,t a race and in fact i was told not to get too enthusiastic with it...

It was a very rare p4 Ferrari , built purely for racing , very few of them around now , but its one of the most beautifull cars they made....

There is something very special about Ferrari cars...and yes , if i had the money i would buy one...

Some Poles seem to find it offensive..some not....so i am none the wiser after reading the thread about .....IS POLACK RACIST ..

Is there another word that can be used that definatly won,t upset anyone...?

So what do you call a bunch of Polish people then...? I have heard on tv Polish people refering to themselves and others as Pollacks , so i am not sure if its offensive or not...?

Among my Polish friends , we call each other all manner of things , and it would not matter at all if i call them a Pollack , or even a burak , but i would not want to cause offence to a stranger...What is the correct word to call Polish people...????

I think probably Putin will be back in power before too long...i can,t see anyone else that will get in...

I heard that in Eastern Europe womens day is seen as a communist thing and many don, t celebrate it for this reason , but most women i know think of it as a special day , and my Russian girlfriend who is no fan of the communists has had a womens day party at the school where she is a teacher , so it seems its still in favour there in Moscow...

Today i went into my friends pitza resteraunt in Poland , she is Ukrainian and she had flowers on display that somebody had given her , so i think its still very popular over this part of the world...

Well you learn something new every day..! I did not know about grandfathers day...

So , what is the usual gift for a woman on womens day then..?

i guess its different depending on if the woman is a friend , a relative or a girlfriend or wife...?

Oh , and i discovered that Russia does indeed have the same womens day as Poland , the only reason that they were having their party at my ladies school on friday was due to the fact the school is closed on monday....
