It has no negative meaning. However, the so-called Roman salute is banned in Poland, but also in many other countries.

It's much better to call it what it is, a nazi salute.

In my opinion it shouldn't be banned. It is pointless.

It isn't banned in Britain however nobody there would do nazi salutes, except of course for the insane.

Maybe because it is not banned, lefties harp about it all the time if on top of it, it is banned it is very tempting for a normal person to salute like that to spite them and make them wheel in impotent fury.

It really isn't. Only the insane would make such silly gestures.

It is a sign associated with a particularly vile political ideology, and good that normal people often use democratic processes to get it banned.

Only the insane would make such silly gestures.

It is what you claim and what you would like to believe. I think that only people who have mental issues would be willing to support lefties but I try not to be judgmental.

often use democratic processes to get it banned.

I don't think that many things should be banned, only a selected few, and banning some gestures is not only; petty but childish and contreffective.

It is what you claim

What most of the world 'claims'.

Any ideology that kills people because they're Jewish, or Polish, or disabled, or hold different political views is evil.

I'm sure you agree with that.

don't think that many things should be banned, only a selected few,

Same, however walking round advocating the vilest political ideology that has ever existed by making their silly nazi salutes or their even sillier military goosestepping is extreme enough to count.

Any ideology that kills people

Ideology does not kill people. Its people driven by an ideology kill other people.
Frist you need to know what you are talking about.
You seem to be focused on fascism. Fascism didn't kill anyone or at least didn't kill more people than any other political movement in history.
You probably have in mind Nazism, a separate branch.
Even Nazism killed fewer people by the bucket than Communism another ideology that lefties always fail to mention.
All those ideologies belong to leftie ideologies based on Marxism. While Marx was openly a furious antisemite communism seems to be ambiguous about that matter while fascists and especially Nazim as a branch of the Marxist tree are more faithful to the original than communism in this matter.
Be as it may it is all a matter of historical records today.
To talk about pressing issues of today's world we need to remember that progressives with their LGBT ideology and its totalitarian heritage are a descendant of communism and Marxism. So all those bloody and oppressive communist regimes responsible for millions of deads of those who disagree with communist ideology or were not kin enough in worshipping its sick values are parents of today's progressives, while fascism and nazism are their uncles.

Today's right-wing parties have little to do with such pathological and dysfunctional family and nothing to do with their infighting. Leveling accusations on today's right-wing people of being fascists is just ridiculous BS.

Today right-wing parties try to bring back Christian values, civic values, and all those values that served well our civilization for millennia and which lefties are kin to destroy in their daze. Simple.
however walking round advocating the vilest political ideology

let them walk. I'm not afraid they will be listening to it. You seem to have a little faith in your fellow man.
Also, do you think that ideology is still a popular fad? Man, you are out of touch if you do.

people driven by an ideology kill other people

That is the same thing.

A vile belief system based entirely on violence, murder and racism. One rightly excoriated by the rest of the world.

Fascism didn't kill anyone

It has killed millions, not only in its best-known iteration, Nazizm, it also in its other forms, in South America and elsewhere.

Today right-wing parties try to bring back Christian values, civic values

The rapist trump doesn't, his party don't, PiS don't; in fact that statement is a bizarre one.

Why are you defending fascism?

Ideology does not kill people. Its people driven by an ideology kill other people.

My opinion is that ideology doesn't create actions but character does. Those who kill in the name of an ideology wanted to kill all along and use the ideology as an excuse.

Ideology feeds it. There were angry mobs in a simpler age too, however the fascists and other characteristics of ill will are adept at using the media (the nazis appeared the age of film, early radio and affordable newspapers) to push their filth.

Ideology feeds it.

Indeed. The same as with your worldview. After all, is easier to build up a fantasy reality using ideological templates rather than succeed at understanding people and reality.

The same as with your worldview

Hardly.

Fascism is predicated on hate and fear.

easier to build up a fantasy reality using ideological template

Yes, they do that enthusiastically, demonising whole groups of people. It appeals to the lowest common denominator.

John Kennedy, your idol, I presume, was the rapist in the purest form.Raped a secretary taking the brake in the middle of a speech.
But I think the fact does not bother you at all

@ Miloslaw

Trump still has four more years to surpass Reagan. After all, he is actually implementing some of the policies that Reagan wanted to achieve but couldn't.

Constantine - I must shake your hand. To create such a thread on a Polish forum...

Espana stands quietly in a corner, taking notes.

Great name. "Heil Poland!".

Who's resurrecting those old threads?

I can't believe I wrote "eSStonia" there hahahaha

In my defence I can only say that back then I was 5 years younger than the spring chicken Bobko is today.

nazi salute.

I was at a wedding some years ago, in Istanbul. At the after party, one of the uncles got really drunk. A Pakistani man from London - at one point he started putting his finger to his nose (imitating the Hitler mustache) and throwing Nazi salutes at the same time.

I must admit it was pretty funny seeing a fat Pakistani man do a Hitler impression. Even the Turkish owner of the pub thought it was funny.

Unfortunately he got tackled by someone from his side of the family, who was apparently worried this may produce a bad impression on the other side.

In general - Hitler is quite admired in South Asia. In India and Pakistan many business feature Hitler on their branding.

A quote from an Indian article on the subject:

"Over the decades, 'Hitler' became a soft pejorative used for strict teachers, bosses, even family patriarchs. Romantic soaps showed boyfriends flirtatiously calling their ladylove "Hitler-like". A TV serial on a rather strict woman was called Hitler Didi."

Haha.

5 years younger than the spring chicken Bobko is today.

Ahhh, I feel that I missed out on the Golden Years.

The Hitler ice cream is unreal

Hehehe, I can't stop looking at it!

Mein Kampf is apparently a popular book in India.

It just shows that the world truly is very big. What seem like core beliefs to people in Europe, is absolutely irrelevant to people in India, and vice versa.

Indians lost more people to the Churchill engineered Bengal Famine, than they ever did to Nazi Germany. They can be forgiven for their indifference.

What?

I thought they would be the next on the list of countries to "denazify".

What?

Apparently 80%+ of Indians have never heard of the Holocaust.

Compare that to Ukrainians who put on their grandfather's SS uniforms and go marching. Quite a difference.

Ukrainians who put on their grandfather's SS uniforms and go marching.

Don't even get me started on this...

A Slavic Nazi is a thing to behold as a monument to human stupidity. A nationalist, OK... this I can understand (the sins of my youth I haven't made a secret of), but a nazi, parading in a SS uniform? Mind boggles.

Mind boggles.

Mhmm...

"We must make it clear that we have no intention of Germanizing the East in the old sense of the word... What we want is to ensure that the Slav, whether Russian, Ukrainian, or Polish, never sees anything but a German, that he works for us, that he comes under our discipline, and that he becomes accustomed to never thinking of himself as free again."
- Heinrich Himmler, speech to SS officers, PoznaƄ, October 4, 1943

"The Slavs are to work for us. Insofar as we don't need them, they may die. Therefore, compulsory vaccination and German health services are superfluous. The fertility of the Slavs is undesirable."
- Adolf Hitler, Table Talk, 1941

It takes a special kind of stupid to put on the uniform of someone that considers you a subhuman animal.

"The war can only be continued if the entire Wehrmacht is fed from Russia in the third year of the war. If we take what we need out of the country, there can be no doubt that many millions of people will die of starvation."
- Herbert Backe, May 2, 1941 meeting notes on Eastern food policy (recorded in Nazi documents later presented at Nuremberg)

Sometimes I want to show these quotes to BB when he begins his song of "everybody can be understood". He's a nice fella, but what Germany was doing in the East was... satanic.

Satanic is a good word to describe it. Right and proper.

That's why it won't be forgotten. It was forgiven, we are Christian after all, but it will not be forgotten.

Afaik the azovites and some banderites think they are followers of Odin some Baltic tribe and therefore part of the master race construct. The slavs are the evil moscovites.
