Polish looks?

Yeah, but I don't know anymore. I have been trying to do research on my roots, but I really don't know where it is taking me. My maternal (Polish) grandmother's name: Kapushka, from somewhere near the Carpathian Mountains. My maternal grandfather's name was Bartok (Hungarian). I am speculating that the maternal grandmother could have been from what is now the Ukraine, based on her Russian last name, and how she looked (small, dark hair, small face with high cheekbones, small, deep set eyes, that I think were dark or light, or light brown (can't tell from the photo). I am speculating that maybe she was a Boyko Goral or Rusyn, but I don't know. If anyone has information on the name Kapushka in 19th Century Trans-Carpathians, it would be appreciated. I'm adopted, which is why this is like finding missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle for me.

Generally I'd say Polish people have that Eastern look that to any outsider looks very similar and looks "Eastern European" for example (Bulgarians, Polaks, Hrvats, Russians etc). People who are in this group of people I think can distinguish fairly well who is who, with that being said I think we do share the look with these other Slavs sometimes it's very noticeable sometimes it's not. Also people saying Poles are blonde pale etc, i've said this numerous times from all of the Poles I know the general haircolour is brown with the few occasions of black (very dark) and blonde (very light).

i was a curly blonde and blue eyed cutie when i was little but my hair got darker as i got older, my eyes are also more green than they are blue. my sisters have more sharp features, their skin and hair are also darker. there's a big variety among Poles but yeah we can recognise each other in the crowd, i know when i see a Polish person before i hear them speak. it's hard to explain, probably a mixture of facial features, clothes and hair.

Alot of polish girls seem to have from there chin to there bottom lip like it is sunk in anyone know what the he'll I'm talkin about? It's kinds scary lookin like they are witches. LOL

What nationality do I appear to be? I'm about 60% Polish and the rest of me is German, Sicilian, English, Danish, French, and a bit of Irish. And if it helps, my dad is about 75% Polish, his dad was 100% Polish, his mom was 50% Polish and 25/25 British/Danish. My mom is about 40% Polish, her dad his half Polish (mother) and half Sicilian (his father was born in Sicily) and my mom's mother is about 25% German, 30% Polish, some French, some English, and a small bit of Irish.

I've been told I look like so many things and I just want to know since some of ya'll really sound like you know your stuff. :)

Okay, I have some more. Sorry they're not great. I only have my myspace pictures on my computer. Or me riding my horse, lol. I'm not very photogenic though. xD I'm not a fan of having my picture taken, let alone posting myspace pictures.

And here are the actual links from above posted. I most commonly hear I look French, British, or Polish. I've heard Russian too, which I really don't see. :p My parents think I look Eastern European/exotic. I have large eyes and high cheek bones, they're just not prominent. My natural hair color is a dirty blonde/light brown. My eyes change from light brown to hazel. I look A LOT like my dad, who looks like his dad, who was 100% Polish. But most Polish people I've seen of more "roundish" faces and mine is more long. I don't know though... I'm such a mutt!

I'm on the left, my friend is in the middle, and my boyfriend is on the right. It was funny for Halloween since my boyfriend was born in Russia & I dressed as a Russian girl, but he dressed as the Joker. :)

You definitely have some slavic features to your face. The nose, the eyes, and the cheekbones. But my guess is that your mother isn't slavic..?

Not all ! I have a longish face and high cheekbones too but my eyes are blue.

Both my parents were Polish. My sister has a more rounded face .....

Everyone says I look just like my dad. My sister looks more like my mom.

So I guess this is kind of generalized, but do I look Polish? Or just Slavic in general? Since I know there are several Slavic countries... I'm just wondering. :)

Nose,cheekbones and the upper part of face with eyes are polish.Mouth is western,however not german maybe a mix between italian and irish.Hair is german.The lower part of face with the chin looks english,it is elongated.So you tend to the bird-like style of slavic appearance(prominent nose,high cheekbones) but the smaller mouth with the thinner than polish lips in combination with the elongated chin change dramatically the slavic appearance,so you seem like mixed polish.

It's weird though. I have almost the same face shape as my dad (more elongated) and he's 75% Polish. But he is also 12.5% English & 12.5% Danish, so that probably explains it. Plus, my mom does have that small bit of English in her as well..

I have my mom's large eyes though. :D

But really, thank you for the replies! I've always been curious, especially because everyone tells me something different. I typically always hear either Polish, English, or French... sometimes Russian. Some random kids at my school think I'm Russian just because I'm dating a Russian immigrant. People are odd hahah.

To be truthfull you have a Polish face with italian eyes, nice :)

Thanks. :) I have my mom's big brown eyes! Except mine turn greenish and always have a somewhat green tint to them. I always have wide eyes in pictures, but in real life my eyes are more almond shape than anything. :D I always get the most compliments on my eyes, hahah. It's nice though since I'm so darn self-conscious. My nose is big. >.>

Mine too but it's a good thing. At least we don't look like all the other girls ha. Plus big nose is a Polish nose :-)

Very true! I do have my dad's nose and he's mostly Polish. :) So many girls I know have these petite little noses. I'm always just like "mine's Polish and sexy." Lmao. :D

Forgive my familiarity with you, but you do indeed look very Spanish. FYI - you are almost a dead ringer for my missus (who's Spanish) in the top pic of you next to the river. Perhaps you have the ancestry? A Polish legionnaire in the Napoleonic Wars who took a Spanish donia back to Poland with him.....?

I'm completely Polish-Russian on my dad's side, but I also have some Italian, Irish, and English in me on my mom's side. Those are all pretty small percentages though, since I think she's Polish too. I'm also 1/16th Mohawk Indian, though I don't really look it, lol. =P
