My wife was drinking a Polish Honey Vodka. Any idea of a name? Sounds like Krupnik (sp)
I want to surprise her for Christmas....and find it in the USA.

Best Vodka, or Polish Wódka?

So yes, I know there is another thread for this, but it does a bad job at answering my question. So recently I've been doing a lot off with Belvedere and Chopin; and like all Poles I believe that Polish vodka is the best. However is that true? I've heard that Russian Standard and Stolichnaya are also good, but with their prices they don't seem to compare. Also are Belvedere and Chopin the best in Poland like they claim? They seem too widespread, I've heard other people like Zubrowska the best. Speaking of that, is Zubrowska worth buying? I always see those bison grass in the bottle and think it's going to have a grassy taste or like some herbal drink. Please note I always drink straight and possibly frozen, so which do you recommend the most?

Zumbrowka!!! One of the most popular in all of Poland.

search google for: zubrowka bison grass vodka

Zubrowka is the best vodka I tried so far. And it is very healthy since it make you drink a lot of apple juice :).

You are wise man. The correct answer is: Chopin, Belvedere and Equisite.

Equisite

Wyborowa Exquisite gets my vote too. The other super premium I'd recommend it Orkisz, that stuff is superb!

Zubrowka is not bad but I am leaning more towards Luksusowa.

Luksusowa (polish for luxury) is a nice vodka, it's one of Polands finer and is considered a premium on the vodka market. It has a unqiue and smooth taste since it's a potato vodka. But it's just that, if you want a good potato vodka go with Chopin which overrides this one and is considered one of the world best. Also, whats with that bottle of Zubrowka you posted, isn't it supposed to have a green tint?

I have that bottle of zubrowka and it doesn't have the green tint but it does have a distinct flavour to it.

OK, since we're on the subject of Polish vodka.
I just saw my first ad for an imported Polish vodka called Ultimat. The ad claims that it's the best because it's brewed from potatoes and grain, as opposed to from one or the other. Have you heard of or tried this vodka? Is there really a difference between vodka made from potatoes, from grain, or from a combination? Which do you prefer? Why?

Thanks.

I enjoy having a drink every now and than. I never use to drink vodka, but small trial bottle of Belvadeare vodka (sorry about the spelling) I did try for fun. It had more of a sweeter taste than Russian Vodka. I enjoy a sweet taste,so this went over pretty well. If there is another Polish Vodka that is sweet like this one, let me know so I can try. Thanks Bruce

Belveder or Chopin
If you have $30-$35 to spend but woth it, smooth and delicate. Ditch Grey Goose (french) for good classie POLISH VODKA.

Ahem... Who owns Belvedere Vodka? French Luxury Group LVMH.. Who owns Chopin vodka? French luxury group LVMH.. And a last one for the road..who owns Wyborowa? French Group Pernod Ricard..

Being owned by a French company does not make it French Vodka though...
