I feel sorry for you if you make such judgements reading tabloids, mysterious polls and profiled internet forums. I never claimed to be a specialist, one would need to live in Russia several years and be quite smart to earn such status. I don't belong to fools, however I never lived in this country.
Nevertheless I had a pleasure to cooperate with Russians and this was certainly positive experience. Of course I have met many idiots as well but I never described Russian nation to be perfect.

Pravda is one of the oldest, largest and most representative newspapers in Russia, its read by milions, if its forums are not a reliable outlook on Russians nothing is.

You exaggerate, Russian society to some extend have its little obsessions. People in other states are not much smarter for sure. One thing is sure, Poland don't belong to debated issues among average Russians duo to unimportance of this state and lack of interest in politics in general of people concentrated on everyday life. Even most of Poles give a damn about Polish politics.
I checked out both forums in the past. These are not reliable sources for sure, many obviously deluded posters prevent serious debates. Beside of that how could you wonder that many Russians posting over there have nothing positive to say about Poland? There is a bunch of Poles posting over there a lot of garbage and obviously provoking attention. If they see few Poles full of happiness that idiotic City Council, of the only capital in Europe (except Tirana) without ring road, commemorated some Chechen 'militant', that is how they consider other Poles as well. While people here care little about Chechen issue, if anything. There is visible fruitless clash of Polish and Russian ignorants.
Nothing has changed in Russia over 20 years, not a single thing, administratively, economically and socially its exactly the same country it was, the only difference is the official names for the administration have changed and the economy is in far worse shape since they're unable to drain neighbouring coutries.

Not much, however they don't know much more about any other party. In modern times everything depends from media imagine, those who control most of media outlets are more likely to win (mediocracy). They create trends, views and cultural development in the society. There are very few people who are smart enough and willing to follow who is who. What is more many of them use this knowledge to achieve personal goals rather to try to solve the state. Also because they are aware that second option is utopian in mediocracy.
Abortion is anti-liberal per excellence. While LPR indeed is not liberal, neither any other mainstream party in Poland.
PiS wish to gather more voters, thus they are trying to avoid to make comments about issues considered to be controversial (of course except personal pushing with other mainstream parties). This is how political parties become part of the mainstream, they must hold hardly any views and if they do they must keep it in secret.
Kaczynski brothers manage to fool many voters, they will lose this support in my opinion. While homosexual "marriage" is hardly election issue in Poland. Currently this is all about PR battle between PiS and PO. This would be difficult to point out any particular issue that could play important role. It is all, a complete farce.

Berlusconi regularly ally his party with nationalists. I dare to say that all of above mentioned parties from big European states are much more controversial than LPR. So is Jobbik from Hungary, SNS from Slovakia or Ataka from Bulgaria. People in Poland lacking the wider picture and this is a fact that LPR belong to one of the softest nationally minded parties in Europe.
Maybe this brand has not great future but sooner or later under different banner with different people they will be back in Sejm.

To be honest, PiS were morons for going into coalition with them and LPR to begin with. They probably would've managed to survive for the whole term if they had tried to rule by consensus (ala what the SNP have done in Scotland) as opposed to needing to jump into bed with idiotic right wing parties in order to force through their policies. Certainly, some aspects of their manifesto would have been voted for by the SLD and others would have been voted for by PO - both of which would have gave them above 50%.

If I recall correctly recent elections were completely about quarrelling and no mainstream party tried to make any points linked with activity in EP. Apparently all of them are fine with moronic PR?
As far as relations between Brussels and PO are concentrated, the latter will do everything what is expected by the first. The lack of quarrel origin from personal interest of members of PO. They want well paid jobs in Brussels and this is everything that they find interesting. In communist Poland there were many members of Polish communist party that hold similar attitude. Membership was always profitable.

A giant as big as EU won't collapse because of something as petty as a polish leader. And why would it, Buzek is strong person in the right place. We are on the frontier here and this will allow EU to strenghten its boarders.

This is up to him to make them disappointed and act like professional diplomat loyal only to his own country. I don't know the guy, so I cannot say. However from my observations the Jews are one of the biggest nationalists/tribalists around, so I cannot exclude such possibility.

They generally reduced number of historic issues which are constantly raise by various politicians in Poland and this is good. If you search for hypocrites who used to raise historical issues in political demagogy, it is PiS. Those people just love to talk about German and Russian faults and always downplayed Ukrainian issue. This is simply their political line.
Truth is always so annoying. Soon Poland fully join them as well.

I agree early representative democracy was idealistic. They could harshly disagree because they had different visions. Today only cash is important. Look at recent EU elections, except of minor parties nobody raised any political issues. Mainstream parties spit on each other, people don't really understand why (the answer is to concentrate all attention) and they refuse to participate.
The only argument by some way connected with European politics was raised by PO. How they wanted to attract people? 'Vote for us because if more of our palls win seats, chances of Buzek to gain celebrity post are growing.' Only posts and what follow cash matters these days.

I got a laugh about verdict of Constitutional Tribunal of the Federal Republic of Germany regarding validity of treaty of Lisbon. Judges ruled out that Treaty of Lisbon is valid BUT German lawmakers must firstly put forward legislation that would state that German law is more important. It means that German parliament would need to accept every each regulation coming from Brussels.
How this case look like in Poland? Polish judges already treat European law to be more important than Polish constitution (aka famous case with extradition of several Polish citizens, before lawmakers changed Polish constitution with openly forbid such practices). Some prominent Polish judges speak openly about superiority of Treaty of Lisbon over Polish law.
This is exactly the difference between Polish and German political elites. I don't really admire current German politicians, they are populist and opportunistic. They don't care about interest of German taxpayer in long-perspective. At this point their attitude remind me Polish politicians and to be honest whole Europe and America as well. This is very weak side of democracy as a political system in general. However German elites at least think about their own particular interest in long perspective in opposition to most of others. I don't believe that politically nominated judges can be independent in such crucial matters like Treaty of Lisbon. It means that this is some kind of consensus among German political elites. German elites are unwilling to allow others to meddle in German internal affairs. While different attitude visible in most of other EU member states gives them an opportunity to have much of influence over law systems outside of Germany. I must admit that this is diplomatic masterpiece. One treaty and two completely different interpretations.
I don't write all of this to stir anti-German sentiments. Hats off to German elites, because their stance is worth of respect. I write it to point out how miserable are Polish political elites in comparison with German elites whom don't represent any high quality after all.
I got a laugh about verdict of Constitutional Tribunal of the Federal Republic of Germany regarding validity of treaty of Lisbon. Judges ruled out that Treaty of Lisbon is valid BUT German lawmakers must firstly put forward legislation that would state that German law is more important. It means that German parliament would need to accept every each regulation coming from Brussels.
How this case look like in Poland? Polish judges already treat European law to be more important than Polish constitution (aka famous case with extradition of several Polish citizens, before lawmakers changed Polish constitution with openly forbid such practices). Some prominent Polish judges speak openly about superiority of Treaty of Lisbon over Polish law.
This is exactly the difference between Polish and German political elites. I don't really admire current German politicians, they are populist and opportunistic. They don't care about interest of German taxpayer in long-perspective. At this point their attitude remind me Polish politicians and to be honest whole Europe and America as well. This is very weak side of democracy as a political system in general. However German elites at least think about their own particular interest in long perspective in opposition to most of others. I don't believe that politically nominated judges can be independent in such crucial matters like Treaty of Lisbon. It means that this is some kind of consensus among German political elites. I'm surprised indeed but mostly because you appears to see a difference between previous and current government. There is no rival fractions in the EU, you can witness how vast majority of MEPs support European Commission. Those very few who don't mostly oppose the EU in general and are considered to be enemies by the rest. There is no debate, there is no democracy.
I want to destroy only overwhelming bureaucracy and bring back the EU to original version. I think about something like free trade and free travel zone. You could also claim that I want to destroy Poland because I oppose to appetite of central government as well.
Lisbon Treaty itself wont do that but general tendencies, I mean vocal support for abortion among eurocrats and extension of EU competences, lead me to conclusion that this might be just one treaty or regulation away.

The Treaty foresees that member states can make available civilian and military resources to the Union for the implementation of its Common Security and Defence operations.
The number of Commissioners will be reduced from 27 to 18, so you can expect that the smallest states wont be awarded. In case of Ireland this is very possible. You would be really optimistic to think that such small states manage to have commissioner permanently.
Personally I don't care whether Poland have its own commissioner. I would even find this very funny if Poland would not be let to chose one commissioner.

This is one of the mayor issues discussed endlessly in Polish-Lithuanian Parliamentary Commission. While western politicians also have very selective sensitivity. If Poles would be replace by homosexuals then I'm sure this case would be better known outside Lithuania.
Anyway, I don't advocate third states sticking its noses in Lithuanian affairs. It apply to Poland as well. I just point out obvious injustice as a independent political observer.
Property rights, it is sacred thing. Jews who can prove their rights should be given back property or be compensated. I don't belong to enthusiasts of international courts, this is just another institution controlled by those who push for centralised pan-European state. If such courts refuse to take cases of property rights then this is obvious that they are not independent, they are simply politically controlled. This is the best argument to discredit this idea.

If Lithuanian were given back their property and Poles otherwise, there is nothing to think about. Quite shocking example of ethic discrimination.
This would be practical in Turkmenistan. Lithuania, these are completely different circumstances. Their goal can be obtained quite quickly.

I was being practical, lesser. If you can't orchestrate change from within, you need to read Desiderata. 'God give me the courage to accept the things I cannot change'. It's not an autocracy/totalitarian regime there, lesser, they can bring change about.
