Love / Do Polish guys have a different approach to dating than others guys? [50]

mmm, one just can't generalise really. My now ex Polish boyfriend had over 20 different text messages stored on his phone all from women he was sleeping around on, some of them while he was with me. Don't judge by nationality, judge the person!!

Travel / Hotel recommendation in Krakow [23]

Can anyone recommened a hotel in Krakow that is both comfortable and relatively inexpensive, located within reasonable walking distance of the main square and drag etc. and the main sights? I'm coming to Krakow on Wednesday evening (18th July) and will be staying until Monday evening.. travelling alone too and don't speak any Polish really. Hey if anyone would like to meet for a piwo? Thanks!

Travel / Hotel recommendation in Krakow [23]

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm traveling alone which is fine, and I was supposed to be in Krakow the 19th through the 23rd. Would have been fun to hang out with someone! Just last night I switched everything around so I could meet up with a friend in Gdansk / Malbork. So I'll be in the north while you're in the south. I have a few good friends from "accross the pond" and it would have been nice to make another one.

Hey there, shame you changed it.. we could have had a beer together.. but thanks for the tip anyway and hope you gave a great time too and the flight isn't too tiring!!

enjoy krakow sunflower :)

hey thanks, will do my best ;0). I visted last year for just one dayand totally fell in love with the place. I'm sooooo excited now I can't wait to get there..!!

Ooh PunchBuggyBlue, that website you recommended is excellent, what a wide choice of really well priced and well located accommodation. I reckon I should get something before Wednesday night!!

Travel / Anyone been to Zakopane? [36]

married guys can tell their wives that is a Christmas mountain retreat holiday and get a few days skiing in and leave the women shopping or something.

Hell, anything to get to the mountains

Bloody hell, why would any sane woman want to go shopping with mountains like that to board down..??? Unless of course it's to buy some new boarding gear ;0)

Travel / Hotel recommendation in Krakow [23]

I'll be in Warsaw on the 19th, but since changing everything, I won't arrive in Krakow until the 27th. Did you use the phone number / email address I sent you?

Hi again, I used the website and got a response almost immediately, mind you it will cost me about 350 Euros for 5 days but it looks like a lovely place with rave reviews and god knows I need a rest and a break :0)). I travel back to the UK 23rd, shame otherwise we could have met up...

Love / The Polish girl i love has gone back to Poland . [65]

Sorry to say it but i have very litle compassion or sympathy for this person. Sounds like exploitation to me. You are 40 and she is 19.. ok, despite both being "consenting" adults you are married, she is of an age where she can probably still be "manipulated" and you have seriously disrespected and dishonoured your wife and your marriage vows. Grow up.

Travel / Hotel recommendation in Krakow [23]

Hi Sunflower

I don't know if you'll receive this while in Krakow but I'm here also for awhile. You can call on my Polish number 0048 504 588 560. Catching up and having a beer sounds like a great idea.

Regards

Arthur

Hi again Arthur

Sorry I didn't get in touch, bit of a long story, I ended up in Wroclaw for a couple of days. Hope you had fun in Krakow!

Love / The Polish girl i love has gone back to Poland . [65]

Polish girls are brutal

That is such a racist remark. I am English and I would be most insulted if people said "English girls are all *******" or some such stupid comments, which is basically what my ex-boyfriend, a Polish man, used to say about Polish women. People are people wherever you go, nationality does not define how a person behaves within a relationship. Fact.

Travel / Trains in Poland - Krakow to the Polish sea [8]

Hi All, well, just come back from Krakow this week to a very rainy and miserable flooded out UK. Sigh.. so... planning a trip back very soon and quite fancied a couple of days in Krakow, followed by maybe a long weekend at the Polish sea. Does anyone know how easy it is to get to the coast by train from Krakow or would I be better off flying up to Gdansk and taking it from there? Also will the weather still be good around the end of August time? Thanks!

Study / Intensive Polish Courses - any good results? [5]

glossa.pl

I did a taster here, found the teaching to be excellent. Met people who'd done two weeks there and were already speaking pretty good basic Polish and making themselves understood.

Real Estate / Foreigners: Please don't buy Polish Land! [823]

Ask english if they have to work 24 h to buy a 30m2 flat after 30 years of work?

Actually as a single girl with no deposit and several jobs just to make ends meet, yes, actually, I have to work every hour that god sends to pay my way..as for buying a house in England on my own.. hah!! fat chance..

Travel / Baltic coast in September [14]

Hi guys, does anyone know what sort of temperatures I should expect on the Baltic coast in the first week of September? I'm tentatively planning a few days there and wondered if it would still be fairly hot.. also any recommendations of a good resort or place to stay.. I like a reasonable amount of peace and quiet but some nice cafes and restaurants too... cheers :0)))

UK, Ireland / The true about the British People [51]

omg, who on earth (or maybe it wasn't on earth at all) created this xenophobic nonsense? Having said that, some of it did tickle me.. but then I am British after all and I have the ability to laugh at myself ;0)

Quoting from the blog: "The English are a sensible lot. They don’t go in for drama or emotion. They don’t take risks. They don’t embark on flights of fancy. They don’t scream during their annual night of sexual intercourse"

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL :0D

Travel / Baltic coast in September [14]

Hi Dasla, not sure yet if I'm going alone or with my mate Suse, she needs to check on her holiday leave and finances... would be cool to meet up though! I've just been offered a new job today as well, so not sure now if I'll even be travelling then myself, but I'll probably have firmer plans by next week. Which town/village will you be staying in or are you travelling around? I was originally looking at Kolozberg, if that's spelt correctly...

Love / A Polish Girl Without Heart!! [54]

I'm sending you a massive hug .. I'm just extracting myself from a similar painful process of having being well and truly used by a Polish guy, who basically just wanted somewhere comfortable to live, sex on tap and someone to teach him good English. My God how it hurts as I had really started to fall for him.. but at least I found out what a total waste of space he actually was before he moved into my house... in a nutshell, he was sleeping with at least two other women behind my back, and they are the ones I know about... and had a one night stand with another the night before we went on holiday together. I really so sympathise.. but naturally I'm not blaming the nationality, just the immature, selfish person I had sadly fallen in love with.

Have another hug... you deserve so much better, it sounds as if you have a great big heart and so much to give.

Love / A Polish Girl Without Heart!! [54]

Hi Jambo, hope you're enjoying the bank holiday weekend sun and that you're feeling somewhat better :0). You're right about the knowing I am better off but darn it it hurts. I saw him yesterday, long story that I'm going to post about later,... feels like my heart is breaking into millions of tiny splinters today.. sigh.. I know life goes on, I know I had fallen for him more than just a little bit... But you have to keep your chin up, it's the only way through this sort of thing...

UK, Ireland / Should Polish immigrants learn English to work in the UK? [77]

Not sure I'm posting in the right section but here goes.. what do you all reckon to this?

Gordon Brown is set to announce tighter controls on would-be migrants coming to work in the UK, in a move which could cut arrivals by 35,000 a year.

The Prime Minister will say that tens of thousands more migrant workers must pass English language tests before coming to the UK.
