Can anyone recommened a hotel in Krakow that is both comfortable and relatively inexpensive, located within reasonable walking distance of the main square and drag etc. and the main sights? I'm coming to Krakow on Wednesday evening (18th July) and will be staying until Monday evening.. travelling alone too and don't speak any Polish really. Hey if anyone would like to meet for a piwo? Thanks!

Europejski Hotel or Hotel Wawel. May cost 180 zloty per night.
I hear Rokk isn't too expensive either. Ever consider a hostel?

Hi,

I just did the searhing thing, and found this website to be very useful:

w w w.allkrakowhotels.com/

I chose this place:

w w w.allkrakowhotels.com/314,golden_lion-apartment

The website is nice because it shows you exactly where the hotel is. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm traveling alone which is fine, and I was supposed to be in Krakow the 19th through the 23rd. Would have been fun to hang out with someone! Just last night I switched everything around so I could meet up with a friend in Gdansk / Malbork. So I'll be in the north while you're in the south. I have a few good friends from "accross the pond" and it would have been nice to make another one.

Have a wonderful time, I'm sure Krakow is going to be beautiful. I can't wait to get there, though I'm not looking forward to the flight:-(

I'm afraid that's not so easy to find a decent place in July/August. Try to find something right now. Good luck and have fun in Krakow.

Yes, but many of the requests I put in were unanswered, maybe because they were already booked? Most of the places have websites so if I were you, I'd find them, get the phone number and call. If this forum lets me email you, I'll send you the info on where I'm staying since I just canceled the exact days that you need, and the exact type of room you want.

I'll be in Warsaw on the 19th, but since changing everything, I won't arrive in Krakow until the 27th. Did you use the phone number / email address I sent you?

Hi again, I used the website and got a response almost immediately, mind you it will cost me about 350 Euros for 5 days but it looks like a lovely place with rave reviews and god knows I need a rest and a break :0)). I travel back to the UK 23rd, shame otherwise we could have met up...

Hi Sunflower

I don't know if you'll receive this while in Krakow but I'm here also for awhile. You can call on my Polish number 0048 504 588 560. Catching up and having a beer sounds like a great idea.

Merged: October in Gdansk or Krakow: hotel and spending

Hi guys

Looking to fly over in october sometime, can anyone point me in the direction of a good (cheap but not a fleapit) hotel in either Gdansk or Krakow, and does anyone from either city have any good idea of how much money spending a week there would cost?

Thanks folks

Nathan's Villa is the best budget accommodation in Krakow. But you'll need to book a long way in advance to get a room.

Krakow is a fair bit more expensive than Gdansk but how much you'll need in spending money very much depends on your tastes. In Gdansk a pint of beer is between £1 and £2, in Krakow it's more like £1.50 to £3. A meal in Gdansk is anything from £2 to £30.

The best thing for you to do is to head over to inyourpocket.com and read their guides to Krakow and Gdansk. Lots of info and links there.

Merged: Gdansk, Osowa, Hotel Recommandation

HI All,

If you've followed my other posts, you'll know I'm a new English teacher in Gdansk. Whilst I've been here a week for interviews and flat hunting I have been staying in a hotel with a good restaurant. The owners here have been so good to me with all aspects of my stay and also with general advice, I feel it is only proper for me to tell everybody else how pleased I am and make this recommendation.

The hotel is the Osowianka, in Osowa, Gdansk. A great family run hotel and restuarant.

osowianka.spanie.pl

Great prices, comfortable rooms and seriously good food.

regards
Tony
