Frankly, I think before 966 it's hard to refer to "Poland" since there was no specified border and no specified country as a result...

The first one is: Makowiec. The second one: Serniko-Makowiec (normally it would be called: Makowiec or Makownik, but since you want some cheese on it I'd call it: Serniko-Makowiec or Makowiec z serem).

But cars in Australia usually eat more gas than in Poland (since they usually have bigger engines than in Poland/Europe), don't they? :) Not to mention bigger distances between the places.

I've just turned 30. Thanks for your comments on my picture - we took one during the celebration of the first day of Spring (in Polish it's called "Marzanna" - I'm not sure about the English equivalent).

I admit, I got confused. I never heard of this band - do they sing in Polish or English? Is it rock or rap? :) At our police squadron they don't allow too modern music...

As far as I know in order for a foreigner to buy land or real estate in Poland, he or she must prove that his relations to Poland are "strong" and "long-term". It means he could obtain a Polish citizenship; have a Polish spouse; is in the higher management of a company run by a foreign capital; or runs a company registered in Poland for a specified period of time (I think at least 1-2 years).
A foreigner can buy land without getting any permit, but he must have lived in Poland for five years from the time he got permanent residency in Poland.

I'm suggesting that it takes more time and effort to graduate from a Polish university than from the American one. The Polish educational system is much more strict and difficult than the American one - I learned something in the primary school in Poland while in the US they teach the same in college...

I assume you are a student, aren't you? Yes, there are many Americans in Poland - especially in big cities like Warsaw, Krakow, or Poznan. There are also quite a few international and good universities that are approved world-wide. Note that studying in Poland isn't as "easy" as in the US - the professors are more strict and you would have to spend some good time studying and learning the material. I'm sure you will do just fine, but yes - it's a wise decision to go there for a couple of months to find out if it's for you.
Also, it would be good for us to know which are / province he lives to determine if it's a good region for study or work.

I don't know the Gdansk region (but it's a very nice city) and don't know much about schools or teaching. Try go google the school/s you like and maybe you'll find some positive/negative comments that will allow you to make up your mind.
On the job interview try to be self-confident, tell them you DO have experience in teaching (if not formal then informal) and you will be fine :).
